I saw the car and chauffeur by the Musée Océanographique front entrance as I was walking by there this afternoon. Maybe she went to see the new exhibition... www.oceano.org/rubriques.php?lang=fr&categ=1265713956&sscategorie=1334325135Or maybe she has let somebody else use the official car on her behalf? It was all very discrete and the only car parked there. I know all the cars and who's car is who by plates numbers.

Yes she should have been there, but we all know that she couldn't care less for the Special Olympics. IMO Caro is doing a much better job anyways. Who knows what that raving alcoholic would have performed this time....

Caro doing again the job of the First Lady... I agree that she does it better anyway.

Caroline probably got parachuted back into the role to counter the dwindling tourism numbers that CC can't seem to muster one way or another. This is after all the busy season.

St Jean is fairly important. There is usually sth going on at Place des Moulins and the next day on the palace place. Trashy should have been there, but Albert was in Rio, so I guess he can be excused, though he could have left early...trashy only has her own pleasure at heart. SHe only works when she can't help it. If what she is doing can be called work. In any case Caro is much better placed. Wouldn't want an over the top drunk trashy spoil the festivities. It is religous after all.

Bonne Saint-Jean Monégasques! C'est la nôtre aussi bien que je sois en 'exile'. They probably had the Saint-Jean festivities precisely because the heathens were out of the palace. Let's hope the feu de joie purifies the grounds and makes them holier and happier again!

On Saturday, Caroline also handed out the Monegasques Language competition award - an event that Rainier was extremely dedicated to - I believe that he started this competition. It doesn't seem that Albert shares the same sentiment about being in Monaco to present these awards. From the Monaco Matin
110 students awarded the Monegasque language competition
Monday, June 25, 2012
They were seventh in 1500 of the Terminal to the written test, the Monegasque language competition.
And only 110 received awards this Saturday, June 23 in the courtyard of City Hall in the presence of Princess Caroline of Hanover and several figures of the country.
Of the five special awards, the prize awarded by the Sovereign Prince, and delivered by the Princess of Hanover returned to Jean-Christophe Spiliotis-Saquet, best student of final year classes.

Yes Rainier started it. He reintroduced Monegasques into the curriculum in schools. Antoinette always attended as well until her death Elizabeth Ann and Melanie used to be there too. Albert used to be there too. I think this is the first time in years that he wasn't there. Obviously trashy should have been there, but she doesn't even know French so why would she endorse another language she doesn't speak..... as long as she can say obrigado in LA....
