Well, I am here in Bendigo for the long weekend and I have tickets for the exhibition tomorrow, and I am very excited about that. I went to to Art Gallery this afternoon and the red carpet is already in place and security guards have blocked off view street between corners, so no cars are allowed through. I went for a walk past the gallery and although they have erected barriers I counted possibly 15 people waiting there. It is now 5.30pm and I was told that the VIP event kicks off at 6pm but Charlene is expected soon after. So I am heading there in afew minutes and I will be interested to see how many people are there now and see whether I can get a glimpse of her. Also I want to see whether photographers are in full force. Anyway I will post later again this evening.

Here is one of the first photos of Charlene's arrival. My first reaction is full drag queen getup - she should request - no demand - that no one ever EVER NEVER take her photo at that angle again! Good lawd, she looks straight up like a man. Of course she put a lot of hours in the thing that matters to her the most with her job - her clothes (and it seems she thinks the more expensive, the better, even though Kate has shown this does not need to be the case). she had an Australian designer custom create that dress for her. Good lawd, this woman has absolutely no taste or style whatsoever and no amount of money will acquire it for her.
Excerpt from Australian Herald SunIn a coup for Australian designer Johanna Johnson - who recently dressed a plethora of international celebrities for the Academy Awards parties including Felicity Jones and Maya Rudolph - created a stunning custom design at the request the Princess.
Johnson spent hours with the Princess, fitting the blush hued dress which features Johnsons signature swarovski hand beaded embellishment.
It was such an honour for her to ask me to create a design for this special occasion, the humbled designer said.
Princess Grace has long been a personal style icon of mine, and her timeless elegance is a huge inspiration behind my brand I actually have original prints of Grace hanging in my office.

You have to give the Bendigo's local media credit for their reporting of the exhibit and the opening. They have been doing a great job. They have also thrown in a lot of propaganda also because they have a huge stake in the success of this exhibit. The above article is not a local paper. But, the paper did a great job of selecting a photo at a narrow angle that makes the crowd to appear larger than it really is. I would love to see a panned out version of this photo. Here's a thumbnail of Charlene - good lawd this looks scary. Clearly, she must be talking to a child giving her flowers since that is her "oh look at me - the heart for children award winner - and see how much I love children" face.

The lady behind Charlene in the black dress, the same one from the Oscars, is probably Charlene's lady in waiting.

Here's a video of Charlene's arrival and her speech. This town has gone way out to make this exhibit a success. They have invested a lot and they have made grand predictions about the exhibit's impact to their small town - $10 economic benefit and 100,000 visitors to the exhibit with 75% coming from outside of Bendigo. The support of the people who came to the opening is for the support of the success of the exhibit (and to star gaze to see what celebrities were coming out). The people didn't come out just to see Charlene as her flunkies are claiming. Also, Charlene has relatives who live in/near Melbourne - who probably came out also. From the Bendigo Weekly, who posted the video: HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco has officially opened the Bendigo Art Gallery's Grace Kelly: Style Icon exhibition in front of a packed crowd. Princess Charlene was joined by celebrities for the opening, and won over the crowd immediately when she took to the stage and said "G'Day".
She said she was honoured to be In Bendigo.
Earlier, Premier Ted Baillieu spoke brilliantly, praising Bendigo as a great city of history and contemporary art.
He said the gallery was now a major cultural asset for Bendigo and Australia.
Mr Baillieu also thanked former Premier John Brumby, who was there, as well as his wife, Rosemary, who is on the gallery board, for their efforts over the years.
Mr Baillieu said the exhibition was a coup for Bendigo, the gallery and its director, Karen Quinlan.

Please make this pathetic nitwit disappear! It's unbelievable. It seems the more training, exposure and experience she has, the worse she gets! And who is that sad, little thing of a woman she walked in with? Oh dear. She makes CW look even more immense than she really is! And that dress - and hair! Holy cow.

Wow duchess1 Thank you for reporting from Bendigo!!! Hi margarita, I went to the Gallery twice today and honestly at 2.30pm there were only a handful of people but plenty of security guards about. Then after 6.pm definitely more there but the strange thing was we saw 2 big buses and lots of school kids from them so I think alot of it was staged. Lots of the locals I spoke to couldn't care at all about her. In fact many didn't know who she was either. The closure of the street for most of the day was annoying and ridiculous. I couldn't see Charlene from where I stood but all those school kids and grannies got up close some how. Anyway, I went to dinner just afew blocks away and when I got back just after 7.30pm or so, she had left already. The street was bare, and only afew people eating nearby. Gosh, the whole thing was so boring and honestly absolutely NO ONE cared about her visit. Having said that though I hope the exhibition goes well for Bendigo and I look forward to seeing it tomorrow. Can't wait. I am like may others in that I have come to view the " Grace Kelly" memorabilia and Charlene doesn't register for me at all. Thanks MyAdia for putting Charlene's speech for us to see. She can hardly put two words together. Actually very painful to watch. !! I think I am over it all today but as I love coming to Bendigo I am happy on that front...

The Style Icon of Monaco who Albert believed was going to save his country. Good lawd, that is such a tacky dress - I wonder how many thousands of dollars she paid for it. Someone just needs to just put Monaco out of its misery now because a slow death will be terrible to watch. I'm sure there is some rich Russian who can buy it. ;D ;D ;D This is the photo I thought she looked like she was taking a pee. I miss posted - however, upon closer look , the other photo looks a bit like she's taking a pee as well! ;D ;D

Too bad Karen wasn't able to better coordinate herself with CW so they wouldn't look so weird next to each other. Didn't see John Kelly either. He could have walked between them and it wouldn't have looked so bad. CW probably didn't want to "share the spot light" with a real Kelly. Also, it looks like they got a lot of school children were out for the arrival - children who have no choice in whether they go or not - and children who I have little doubt don't have a clue who Grace Kelly was. But I do hope for Bendigo's sake the show is a success.

I am disappointed in the gallery director if her intent was to show that the "crowd" came to see Charlene - as the sugar loonies and Charlene's flunkies are promoting. The gallery needs to promote the exhibit and get people to come to the exhibit since they have invested a lot of money in it. Promoting Charlene as the draw when it is indeed the exhibit that these people are interested in will only hurt attendance. I posted posted several news article where only one bystander stated they were interested in seeing the princess. The locals interviewed (who the media presented) stated saying that they couldn't wait for the opening to see the stars and the exhibit. Most of those interviewed were the Bendigo Art Gallery members (the gallery has 1500 members) and locals who wanted to see their town in national news. It was never about Charlene. Never. As the newscaster stated - "Who is Princess Charlene?" Further testament to the LACK of allure or attraction Charlene actually has is the non-existence of any Australian stars at the opening - which the gallery had earlier mentioned will be there. Earlier articles mentioned that the opening will be attended by well-known Australians stars. Below is an excerpt from a January 19, 2012 article in the Bendigo Weekly. On the contrary, no Australian celebrities came to rub shoulders with the Princess Charlene. Do you think the same would have happen if Kate was in town? Bendigo Art Gallery’s celebrity opening party, which will be attended by the new Grace, Princess Charlene of Monaco, will kick off what is likely to be the gallery’s biggest, most talked about show.
Already, fashion and media celebrities such as Dannii Minogue have said yes to invitations to attend.
With the heady mix of royalty, romance and glamour, all eyes will be on Bendigo for the exclusive Australian opening of Grace Kelly: Style Icon.
Popular success is guaranteed, and in this country, where cultural criticism is almost non-existent, that will be all it takes.

Of course the PRincess of Heart had to do a pool photo opp with children - which she did in Melbourne. This woman really is dumb-as-0a-rock. She again tried to control the press and got burned. She is still pissed off at the press about the runaway bride story so she did not invite any women's magazines to her photo opp. Also, she gave the instruction of no "rude" questions to the media that she did invite - which they repeated the story. Doesn't this dimwit realize how stupid she comes across with this. IS it impossible to pool together the palace's limited intellect and come up with one functional brain? Good lawd these people are stupid! Seriously, this shows how pissed this woman is that he is still not adored in the press which she schemed so hard to accomplish. This is why her flunkies are working overtime on these message boards - to feed her insatiable appetite to be sucked up to. From the Sunday Age
Fairytale in Bendigo as Charlene enters with graceJOHN ELDER March 11, 2012
IT IS not every day a princess comes to Bendigo. While it was supposed to be secret, 700 people - including children bearing flags and flowers - flocked to the Bendigo Regional Gallery last night to see Her Serene Highness, Princess Charlene of Monaco, on her first Australian visit.
Dressed in floor-length pink Johanna Johnson and sparkling with jewels, Princess Charlene opened an exhibition dedicated to the life and fashion of Grace Kelly, the late mother of her husband, Prince Albert. Princess Charlene spoke softly and only for a few minutes, her nerves obvious, but the verdict from many there was that she was ''sweet''.
It was a much more relaxed princess, a former Olympic swimmer for her native South Africa, who caught up with old friends at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre on Friday. The last time Charlene visited the centre was in 2002 - as Charlene Wittstock - when she won a gold medal for the 100 metres backstroke in the World Cup for South Africa. On Friday,The Sun-Herald's sister newspaper in Melbourne, The Sunday Age met Princess Charlene, on the understanding no ''rude'' questions would be asked.
The rudest topic of all was Charlene's reported cold feet at marrying Prince Albert raised by stage-manager, Lotfi Maktouf, explaining why women's magazines had not been invited to cover Charlene's visit.
''I was having lunch with her, at the instruction of the prince, when she was supposed to be fleeing the country and arrested by police,'' he said.

In case anyone missed the newly shared information from the article above, I will shed some light on how this makes no sense and reeks of Albert and Charlene manufacturing a lie - possibly for the courts.
The French news magazine LE'Express, which Albert and Charlene sued, published the Albert and Charlene: A Wedding at Risk article on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 - which by the way the article is still posted on their site. L'Express NEVER mentioned the actual day and thus definitely not time that Charlene ran away. So, how can Charlene provide an alibi for an unspecified day and time? Of course in their response to the suit, L'Express could have mentioned the actual date and time, thus Charlene could then say that she was at lunch with this guy at that specific time on that specific date. But, isn't this the type of smoking gun evidence that Albert and Charlene would want to make publicly immediately as indisputable proof that L'Express was wrong ad DEMAND a retraction? It all starts, a week ago [from Tuesday, June 28, 2011), with the hasty departure of the future princess to Nice airport where she had decided to board a flight to South Africa. Without a flight back. Shaken, Charlene Wittstock had just learned, a few hours earlier, that the privacy of the man she is about to marry and who had publicly confessed in September 2005, the existence of an illegitimate child with Nicole Coste , was not as she imagined copy.
Running away from that police intercepts Nice airport after the Monaco Royal Palace was reached finds its origin in a revelation. What then learned the young woman to decide to leave too hurriedly Monaco and draw a line under this marriage? Love affair? More? All the tabloids is on the teeth for several days, and a newspaper has all the elements of a story that might shake again the Principality.
To bring the bride to reason, it took the Prince Albert and surrounds much of persuasion: a clan member Pastor - one of the great families Monaco - a particular function as an intermediary. Since this episode, Charlene Wittstock, who was in Paris earlier this week to try her wedding dress, sulking conspicuously meetings and family celebrations. A "minimum service" worries, a few days a ceremony that will see the cameras from around the world scanning features of the young woman - on which, today, all the rumors and all the questions converge.
