Count of Paris, and Duke of Vendome...such great personalities! lol First of all these titles were removed in the French Revolution, so the Brits won't recognize them. Second, the Greek royals are related to Prince Philip so they were invited. Sarkozy was not invited either. It wasn't a state wedding. The only title of Albert's that counted was that he was a ruling sovereign which is why he received an invitation. Yeah, imo, they are inviting members of dead royal houses to have more people for their made for tv wedding. refia: I know! ;D

According to the below Benoni Times article, the Presdent and other South African dignitaries have been invited to the Albert and Charlene made-for-tv wedding. Albert and Conlene really believe that the more important famous and wealthy their guest are, the more important they and Monaco are. South African dignitaries invited to the royal wedding of Monaco 15 April 2011 | Clyde Meela
Some of the South African dignitaries who are invited to the royal wedding of Monaco include, President Jacob Zuma; and the Minister of Justice and Constitutional development, Jeff Radebe and his wife Bridgett. Other dignitaries include former South African rugby captain, Francois Pienaar; and former rugby coach Ian McIntosh, just to name a few.
McIntosh is a good friend of Mike who was also his high school teacher in Zimbabwe and they used to play rugby together.
In total 3 500 guests are expected to attend the religious wedding ceremony.

This Philadelphia Daily News article has a double pupose to try to drum u interest in this made-for-tv wedding and inform us of some Kellys that will be there. I wonder why John is not taking his very professional, intelligent and beautiful wife. Funny, if Dan Gross wants us to focus on FatAl's big royal wedding, why don't his newspaper take the lead and start it? Why is everyone asking others to promote this tacky street made-for-tv wedding while they aren't? Next big nup: Prince Albert By Dan Gross May 4, 2011
WITH ALL THE hullabaloo about William and Kate's wedding behind us, we can now focus on other royal nuptials, such as the July wedding of Prince Albert of Monaco to Charlene Wittstock. Albert, son of East Falls screen siren-turned-princess Grace Kelly, has invited his Philly family to mark the occasion. A cousin, PNC Bank executive John B. Kelly III, son of Grace's brother, Jack Kelly, a former city councilman, (no relation to the current one) is looking forward to the wedding and bringing daughter Katherine and son Nicholas.

It looks like they also have Belgian sports people invited. A little late ... they had their studio already rented to journalists. LOL

Margarita posted part of this article in another thread, here's the complete article: The swimmer and the bride: For the wedding to Monaco Wuppertal's top swimmer Sarah Poewe is allowed to celebrate with Prince Albert and Charlene Wittstock. She has known the bride for many years. The wedding invitation came over Easter via text message when she and the swimmers of the SV Bayer Wuppertal were in a training camp in Cyprus - and Sarah Poewe could barely believe it at first. But it's not a fairy tale: Wuppertal's successful swimmer is part of the elite circle that is allowed to indulge itself in the dream world of nobility in the beginning of July in Monaco, when Prince Albert and Charlene Wittstock get married. From the German swimming camp only one other swimmer namely Franziska van Almsick has this privilege. And "Franzi" is much more used to the glitter world than the 28-year-old Poewe, who lives in Sonnborn near the monorail [Wuppertal is famous for its monorail], after having completed her studies in the U.S., and trains like crazy for the 2012 Olympics and is at home in swimming pools in the first place. In the South African national team they always shared rooms Poewe and Wittstock know each other from there. From 1997 both had swum for South Africa, among others in the relay team at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, before the German-South African Poewe moved into the German camp in 2001. "We have always shared rooms during courses and competitions, she was like a big sister to me," says the five-year-younger Poewe, about the beginning of their friendship. It had been normal for the girls to imagine to marry a Prince Charming one day. Poewe was present when Charlene and Albert met. "It was in 2000 at the swimming series Mare Nostrum. "The last competition is always held in Monaco, including the banquet with the Prince" she tells the inside story. Albert had been very open with the swimmers and landed with some of them in a club. "I was 17 and too tired to go with them," Poewe says. In the morning when Charlene told her that she had exchanged addresses with the Prince, both just giggled. "Suddenly, reporters asked questions about Charlene." Sarah only found out in 2002 that something serious was going on, when a gossip reporter wanted to know details about Charlene. "Very lively and uncomplicated," she says of her friend. They both met shortly last year when Poewe swam the Mare Nostrum again, while Charlene Wittstock was already in royal mission. "So, you're getting married next year, I want to be invited, too" said Poewe to her easily as in their old swimming days. Now it has come true. She has already received the confirmation of her plane ticket and her hotel room (June 30-July 3) from the private secretary of the future princess, plus a clothes list, what people are expected to wear at the receptions. A trouser suit is part of it as well as two coats and skirts. A designer friend from South Africa wants to give her a dress from her collection. When Poewe asked a tailor in Sonnborn wearing just jeans and checked shirt if he could take her measures for a dress for the wedding, he felt kidded and refused. Sarah, meanwhile, hopes that there are also fashion designers from Germany or even Wuppertal, who could give her one of their dresses so she can present them in the window of vanities in Monaco. She herself is particularly looking forward to meet former acquaintances from South Africa and is curious about the people sitting at her table. "Maybe I'll also meet my Prince Charming," laughs the single. Ambassadress: Sarah Poewe will also appear in Monaco as ambassador of Wuppertal. On the initiative of Wuppertal Marketing she will present a gift produced in Wuppertal. It will be a diary which is handmade by the bookbinder Roger Green with a dedication by Poewe. The idea to present a knife made of monorail steel from the Talwaren-Collection was declined by Poewe with regard to security checks. They have a great friendship, don't they?! Barely talking to each other... And Poewe seems to be a freeloader as C is, they fit together perfectly...

Wow, so it's very easy to get into that wedding. You go to Charlene, say to her: Hey, i want to go to your wedding, why don't you invite me? And she gives me the invitation. Easy.
The more, the merrier, huh, Charlene?

Thanks taz I had no time to translate the entire article and don't like babelfish Professional desease... That's why I picked only the "dreaming to marry a Prince" aspect. But the "hey, I want do be invited!" think is not bad either

so they pay hotels and flights for their guests too and the guests come in borrowed clothes because they can't or don't want to pay for them. The jewellery of course will be borrowed or fake too as will be many of the body parts and hair of the guests and host....that's so creepy...

Margarita thank for the article and Taz especially thanks for the translation! Both Franciska and Sarah Poewe or so busy sucking up to flat ass Charlene that they don't even realize that their are probably the last tier of guests invites. In February at the Midmar Mile, the top SA swimmers who were swimming the Midmar Mile with Charlene had spoken about being invited and going to the wedding. This trashy non-dynamic duo with their text message invitation are just trying to fill up the crowd now.
Normally, I would think it a really great gesture for Albert to pay for guests that he knows that cannot afford to come, but since Sarah wasn't invited with the first round invites, I see this more of a desperate attempt of Albert trying to give the impression that he has all these paying guests.

They have a great friendship, don't they?! Barely talking to each other... And Poewe seems to be a freeloader as C is, they fit together perfectly... Doesn't sound like a good friendship to me either. But, I think these are the only kind of friendships that Charlene has and Sarah doesn't seem to care, she is just looking for someone to supply her some free clothes. Yep, a freeloader just like Charlene. I don't know if anyone caught, but Sarah exposed yet another LIE from the pathological liar Conlene about her relationship with Albert between 2000 and 2005. I need to update the three that I started during those missing years to start at 2000. I'll discuss it there.

I think that they had a lot of people who didn't want to come. Let's face it the average Monegasque will not draw attention of the press, so they are only invited to provide a background for people with names that are known to some media. The German president has at some point said that he would be going. Maybe someone should tell him that he will be attending the wedding of a guy who throws people into prison if they portray him with a red nose on their website and people do not dare to state their opinion to the press for fear of losing their jobs or experiencing other disadvantages. The guy conducting the children's choir keeps self serving at the donations in the cathedral...with the knowledge and consent of the clergy...

someone said the german media is going crazy with willKat, wouldn't it be great if they make the front covers with a little bitty non dynamic photo squashed in the corner. myaida posted an article that asks does MONACO rhyme with fiasco?? YEAH YEAH YEAH

The question "Who will attend to the wedding?" it's really pumping up in my mind. These two are so stupids that karma will caught them in no time:
Britain: After being late 30 minutes for the Queen's reception, the british royals might take revenge at FatAl's wedding.
Spain: Albert made a bad statement a few years ago about Madrid being non safe for the 2012 Olympics...all Spain is mad at him, so maybe the Borbons won't attend? Revenge!
Sweden: No interest in coming, but as they came to Vicky's wedding...
Norway: Haakon and MM are to sweet to say no to these two.
Netherlands: Apparently, Maxima and WA are going.

here is the link to Bono not coming www.monacomatin.mc/article/derniere-minute/bono-ne-viendra-pas-au-mariage-princier I'm sure if he had cared enough,he would have made it. After all he had a year to save the date Interesting though that people who used to party heaps with ALbert are avoiding contact when coatie is there. Are there any pics of coatie with Bono? I don't remember seeing any but I guess if they haven't got any, we soon will be seeing some

The whole Swedish royal family is attending. I'm guessing Albert and WC invited every single royal of every family to fill out their "royal of the century" wedding. That way at least they can be assured royal watchers will be watching and it will be noted that their wedding had the most "royals" in attendance.
