More of the same - of what I call big-time ass-kissing Here's the editorial portion of the article: EDITORIAL • Why they are a perfect couple ... by Roberto Volponi June 2011 When we saw her appear for the first time alongside Prince Albert, who would have bet that Miss Charlene Wittstock would be the future princess of Monaco? Very few of us. And yet ... the complicity Neither the couple then displayed in the galleries of the Winter Olympics in Turin, or the repeated appearances on the arm of the Sovereign Prince on occasions more or less official, had convinced the skeptics that this young girl from southern Africa had really won the heart of her Prince Charming. It took them to see her engagement ring finger to believe ...And yet it was a gamble that could have won quite easily: it was enough to exchange a few words with the entourage of Prince, for - despite the silence and the reluctance - to draw the conclusion that this story would lead to wedding we will attend next month. ...
Below is the entire article. Perhaps someone French readers can give a summary of the remaining of the article of why Charlene is so perfect. As a black woman - actually as a woman in general - I became very disgusted at the part where Roberto describes Charlene's blond hair, blue eyes, clear white skin and naturalness as proof of why she is just so perfect.

The fact that someone has to argue this point publicly says a TON. An editorial - one man's way of trying to push their point on those who DISAGREE. This is YET ANOTHER attempt by Charlene and her personal publicity machine of family, paid bloggers and the few granted "special access" in exchange for pushing her agenda. The few trying to control the many, too George Orwellian for me (look that up Wittstocks, I know you have no idea).

Well, paca said they were stuck in the 1950/60's and doing this kind of stuff shows how out of touch they really are. You would think with all the blogging and internet stuff it would dawn on them that this stuff just doesn't work. There's too much "real time" out there plus u-tube, phone photos etc to try and to try and put this incredible fluff out there and expect people to believe it is actually funny when you think about it. Unless their audience are pre-teens who believe in fairy tales, but then they have Kate Middleton, the future Queen of England and College graduate to turn to as an example, not Charlene. JMO

it just shows how unprofessional there media people are. Time has really gone past them. In any case a decent PR person would have told Albert that you can't sell dogdirt as gold anymore, no matter how hard you try. It did not work then and it won't work now. Even PR can't help, when there is nothing to sell. Grace was not what PR has made of her, but for one she had natural beauty, she had discipline enough to put herself on to sth (like learning the language) and she wasn't a dimwit. Rainier was a smart man. He couldn't have lived with someone as dumb as trashy.

thanks so much for the updates, pathetic just pathetic and all valid points why this sort of manufactured PR doesn't work. ROFL trying to draw attention looks so pitiful, Grace was hounded by press, FREE PR<<< the only legitimate press IMO and the non dynamic duo are having to pursue it, just shows what a complete and TOTAL FAILURE fatAL and trashlene are on the world stage. i never saw a single mention or article about their trip to the states, IMO that says it all >>>> another PR FAIL

It is telling that the reporter had to come here to justify his article. if he didn't do that i would have thought that the article was actually mocking the "perfect couple" and "the perfect Princess for Monaco", especially since they put two totally different looking pictures of her on the cover, one from the pre-surgery days when she still looked like a human being and one from her post-surgery days where she looked like some hybrid creature with swollen face and inflated lips. I guess they wanted to show in picture how she had changed from a "natural looking, next door girl" to a "sophisticated and fake Princess". If that was all needed to convince Monegasques that now she is the Princess material...then I guess they deserve the kind of princess they got.

Here you go Paca. Just a short reply to MyAdia. A am the author of the article(s) published in "La Principauté". My late answer is due only to the fact that I saw your comment just today. First of all, it is well understood that everybody has the right to express his opinion, including presumed "ass licking" or whatever else. I do respect your opinion, always, and you are supposed to do the same. If you don't, it doesn't matter. Concerning the content of the article, I just want to make a few punctualisations about it and the attitude which inspired it. I have just tried to interprete the feelings of monegasque people - the large majority of my readers - for this event. They did not believe he would have married her because he had plently of other relationships which had no such an outcome (but at least a couple of children!), and therefore they were skepticals until the last moment. When I wrote they were a perfect couple I meant that she is exactly what he was looking for: a woman who would not make shadow to him... When I speak about her blond hair and blue eyes I never meant that this means being better than black skin, black eyes, black hair (I've been engaged myself for a long time with a wonderful black girl!) I have just constated that she represented the perfect stereotype of woman he was looking for et what his people has been expecting for a long time. I never described her as a "savior" for Monaco. If you read carefully my article, I just make three points: 1. The (justified) skepticism of Monaco people 2. They are a perfect couple because they both accomplish their reciprocal expectations 3. She should better remain as she is and not try to imitate her incomparable mother-in-law (she would definitively lose since the start...) That is all. I am not trying to convince of whatsoever, but just to suggest you the right interpretation and the original meaning of my modest piece of work. I hope you will at least appreciate it. Up to you.

Thx. Considering the 3rd point the author is making, then he has just shown that Trashlene is a loser, because since day one she has not done anything but tried to sell herself as the new Grace. And undertaken many surgeries in order to convince people that she is. What I do find strange though is that he does not say this clearly in his article and does not say explicitly that she needs to stop chopping up her face and instead learn some French. If she can actually manage to show up for at least one of the lessons that has been booked for her. But then again Monaco does not have freedom of speech or freedom of press, hence we can not expect that any journalist living and working in MC would write what he really thinks. Having lived there and seen how communication works in MC, I can't even say I criticize him. Poor thing has to write sth to fill the pages. What people really think you hear from those you know and know that they will not experience a disadvantage by telling you their opinion. I have been told by people who have had to deal with her that she is cruel. I don't remember anyone ever saying anything like that about Grace. Not even in her beginnings, when Monegasques were giving her a hard time. But then again those were the 50s and at that time, there were still a lot of people in Europe who equaled actress with prostitute. You dated them, but you did not marry them and you would surely not allow your daughter to become actress. Grace eventually convinced them as a princess because she was a naturally beautiful lady with manners and a certain education. Quite the opposite of trashy who is nothing but a social climber who brought all her leaches with her to suck up as much money from Monaco as they can. Just like Trabelsi did in Tunesia. About time someone showed her the shoe and kicked her butt back to SA IMO.

It is VERY interesting that a reporter comes HERE to defend his opinion about Charlene. I wonder how he came to be acquainted with the forum. Did Charlene, her flunkies or family alert him to ask him to come to her "rescue" again? This is really too much.
If Albert's people expected him to marry someone blonde and blue-eyed in lieu of a colored individual it says the same thing. It's almost racist. A perfect princess should be someone who earns the title - works daily, is not only a womb. Someone who loves her husband and learns the language and isn't engaged in an online publicity stunt for HERSELF. It shouldn't matter how they look or dress.

I think everyone is mising the point - this Monaco reporter came here to make sure we realize that he was NOT mocking nor insulting their new Princess and PERFECT COUPLE in any way fashion or form. Don't you understand - the Con artist Charlene (Conlene for short) called them the enemy to their face (Albert called the Monaco media to the palace right before the wedding and Conlene called them the enemy). Thus, they are afraid to do anything to anger her. You see they do not want to suffer the most important fate in the in life of Monaco if they are not seen groveling at this con artist feet - they will get struck from invitation lists of the top gala or they may not get the best tables. Conlene expects absolute worship of her from the Monaco media - nothing less. She and her team of flunkies read everything written about her. She got where she is by working the media since the beginning (read this article from a South African reporter who Conlene asked advice how to work the media since she expected in the future to be right where she is now - waving to her suckers from the palace balcony) of hooking up with the jackass of Monaco and now she is working them another way now that she finally "sealed the deal" - as she always called her campaign on the message boards.

And undertaken many surgeries in order to convince people that she is. Exactly. In case you haven't noticed that there is not much the Monaco media can actually say about this dumb-as-a-rock plastic surgery high school dropout which is why this reporter was reduced to summing up Conlene's greatness because she has blond hair and blue eyes. Why else is she the perfect princess since the other reasons he gives just are not true. And he and the other Monaco reporters (i.e. palace mouth pieces) NEVER will. Don't forget, Charlene is the perfect princess for Monaco and this is the saddest thing that this Monaco reporter who wants to set the record straight doesn't quite seem to get. Charlene Lynette Wittstock is the perfect princess for Monaco, yet this reporter and the others do not seem to understand the implication of this. I can criticize him. People have died for the right to have freedom of the press. Monaco is steadily going down hill because Albert was suckered into believing that marrying a do-nothing, know-noting, own-nothing and care nothing (but herself and photos of herself) dumb-as-a-rock narcissistic plastic surgery addicted high school dropout will actually BOOST his country's image and its economy. Yet, this reporter comes here to set the record straight hat he was not insulting his perfect princess and perfect couple. Rainier once stated in an interview that Grace had a hard time in the beginning but she won the people of Monaco over by working hard and making them like her through kindness. Look at the difference in Charlene's method of winning people over - doing absolutely nothing. Instead, Conlene places fear in them by calling the media her enemy and insulting the people of Monaco in several interviews. Conlene has not earned any accolades she has received in the last six years - she expects them to just be given to her because of her position. Charlene the Con Artist expects everything to be given to her - and the same goes for admiration.

Am I the only one who find it fundamentally disturbing that when every single indicator shows that Monaco’s quality of life has drastically decreased since Albert’s reign and Monaco’s media earlier prediction that their Princess Charlene will be the “New Grace” (and bring glamour to Monaco) is a big flop (not to mentioned laughable), our new member, Monaco reporter glomed is concerned that the record that the record be set straight about why he thinks that their prince and princess are the perfect couple? Seriously? A ruling monarch head of state who during the courtship was observed cavorting with several other women including vivid photos of him caressing the butt of another woman marries a plastic surgery addicted dumb-as-a-rock high school drop-out who literally bragged in interviews for 5 years about not doing anything in her new privileged life and that she only lives for the moment (well, for the moment until her media promotion campaign to get the Village Idiot of Monaco to marry her comes to fruition), yet the Monaco media promotes this as the perfect couple. Seriously?
A perfect couple – which includes a man who cannot even say that he is marrying (now married) because he is in love and a woman, but glomed readily accepts this as the perfect couple? Seriously? Oh wait, in the superficially world of the fast sinking Monaco where the only thing that matters to many is the next expensive designer outfit that they will wear to the next gala are wearing I guess Albert and Charlene are the perfect couple. Seriously. Doesn’t he realize what it says about Monaco that the Monaco media promotes Albert and Charlene as the perfect couple? And people think that we have problems because we express our dislike.
I started following Albert after his admission of having a son. I didn’t know anything about him other than that he was Grace Kelly’s supposedly playboy prince son. I actually felt sorry for him after reading Nicole’s Paris Match interview (and a slew of others) and seeing her enjoying her new found fame as she did the media circuit gloating about her cunningness. I thought Albert’s investiture July 12, 2005 speech was amazing and I rooted for him. Albert seemed to me someone who was stagnated by an authoritarian father, but now was anxious for the opportunity to prove himself to his country. He had some really substantive issues that he wanted to address and some worthy goals for the future of Monaco. But, those goals required hard work and making tough decisions that may anger a few people. When faced with yet another baby mama drama, Albert decided to forgo the hard work and instead went on an image campaign starting in February 2006 in Turin. He literally imported a bimbo to define him and his country’s image and we are witnessing the results of his actions today.

You can't make people to see if they chose to keep their eyes shot. Singing praises to their new Princess is such a small prize for the lifestyle they get. Those teaches who had to greet WC and kiss her ass probably have kid or two at home and they need their jobs to pay for their food and roof over their head. Not everyone got everything for free like their "beloved Princess". And that reporter probably wishes to retire sometimes soon. Who needs extra headaches when a couple of butt licks can solve everything?

Who needs extra headaches when a couple of butt licks can solve everything? True, but it doesn't make it right. Here are some more ass-kissing from some older Monegasque. Proof that these people either have their eyes shut or they are blind as bats. From Belgium's RTL
Charlene in the footsteps of Grace in Monaco's National Day
Under the balconies of the palace of the Grimaldi on the occasion of National Day, residents of Monaco Saturday praised their new princess they look forward to an heir, but also ... her to learn French, as Grace before her.
[/b] November 21, 2011 Charlene "is beautiful, it looks to see the Princess Grace," enthuses Georgette Cardona, 67, a "privileged resident," the French who are not nationals of Monaco but do not pay taxes . "There is no difference between Charlene and Grace, they are the same," added Lawrence, 84, a Monegasque retiree. Now the Princess of Monaco, the first since her marriage in July, had already caused a stir last year by appearing at the window of the palace-legged Armani, superbly headed, and for the first time officially on the side of Prince Albert II. "We would like that she speaks a little French" "We would like it speaks some French, she is so shy ... but I'm sure she will do it" hopes Pelassy Andrée, a Monegasque 65 years came with her daughter attend the parade, as every year. The former South African swimmer of 33 years "is apparently well accepted by the royal family and also by the people here," which is "difficult" because you have to soak up the French mentality and especially Monaco " Claude explains his side, a Monegasque 61. Tension following the rumors seem to fall This former official said he "laughed at the idiots who started the rumors" of a disagreement between the couple. Obviously, the tension was a little spin on the place of the palace where crowded Saturday hundreds of people: residents of the Rock, who came to neighboring French or tourists. "It finally subsides," noted a source close to the festivities. What about a possible pregnancy? Rumors of a disagreement recently succeeded on websites those people of a possible pregnancy Charlene Monaco. Asked about this by the local press, Prince Albert kicked into touch Saturday. "You will be the first to know", he simply replied. Appeared Saturday in a set of chamois Swiss designer Akris, wide sleeves and collar hiding its forms, Charlene, who was "very thin" before her wedding but was "a little remplumée" since the source close to the organization, did not reveal Saturday who can feed the rumor. Nothing to reverse it either. "We do not know, no, we just hope. An heir, it would be over!" hopes Rita Bettelli, a "privileged resident" septuagenarian. "It is necessary to have an heir to the Grimaldi name," added her friend Ms. Cardona.[/blockquote]

OMG. MyAdia, people in Monaco have to be completely drunk 24/7, wonder if it's kool-aid or something else, or maybe they've been smoking? Especially old people. Can't believe what they say. Unless this RTL program was prepaid by Monaco PR or Monaco police hunted down some Monegasques, gave them something to drink or smoke & maybe even hypnotized them so they would tell a crap how Charlene=Grace. These people are purely insane! On serious note, they might be terribly scared. Oh, well.

Seriously, these few people are singing the Con artist of Monaco praises because of her looks, which I doubt any of them speaking have seen her close up and in person. Charlene has white skin, blond hair, bluish eyes and is tall and slim. Academic studies have shown that certain people tend to equate supposedly good looks with goodness. Albert clearly thinks this way because he has disregarded Charlene the Con artist crassness, arrogance and extreme ignorance and instead focused on her looks as the new image of Monaco. Does anyone in Monaco realize how sad and ridiculous that is?

Rainier managed to bind these people to his family. Other then that Monegasques have not been known to be fond of the Grimaldis. They have not reached the younger generation, the one that grew up after Grace. The one that only knows the Grimaldi scandals and the one that sees the world from a different perspective. The one that is not easily controlled as they have their own means to get information. Plus it is a generation which is a lot more political then especially the female generation in their 60s and 70s. Trashy corresponds to those elderly, but she does not represent the modern Monegasque woman. They have nothing to relate to her.

In every country, in every group you have people willing to applaud just for the sake of it. That does not mean that all people agree. The media does not want to hear criticism. So it is not published or not voiced. It does not mean that it doesn't exist. Look at the arabic states. They have not voiced criticism for 40 years and it still doesn't mean that they were happy. Just wait how well people in MC will handle their standard of living going further down in years to come. Not every one is rich there. And you do not have to move that far to have a much better life.
