Only logic solution - her Daddy had to borrow a Mercedes to see her in February when she was in S.A. for Midmare swim. So her familiy couldn't afford this.

I ran across several blogs and read dozens of comments on articles about certain South Africans being upset that Zuma kept Albert and Charlene waiting for nearly two hours. I am NOT a Zuma fan - the man is a rapist. I really feel that Zuma was posturing and was late on purpose. But, I have a problem with the tone of the complaints about Zuma's lateness that I have a problem with. Many of the complaints have what I feel are racist undertones. I wish I would have saved some of them because some of them were rather explicit with their racists views. It's like they are saying - how dare you black Zuma make our white princess and her white prince wait for you - a black man. Have these people ever complain and asked Zuma to apologize for being late for any prominent or prestigious black guests? I doubt it. Here's one complaint sent to The Witness (South Africa): www.witness.co.za/index.php?showcontent&global[_id]=64604
Explanation wanted 14 Jul 2011
IT is nearly a week since President Jacob Zuma embarrassed the nation by arriving two hours late for his meeting with Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco, yet no official explanation has been forthcoming.
It matters not that the royal couple were on an unofficial visit and that Monaco is a minute principality. The occasion was not some trivial press conference or ANC Youth League shindig. Every effort should have been made to treat the pair with acceptable diplomatic courtesy. What could the explanation be? Was it arrogance, disrespect or plain stupidity?

A simple reason is that in Africa there are two time standards by which persons can operate. World time based on GMT or African Time. African time is based on when the cattle come back to the kraal or the suitable cockcrow in the morning. Therefore it stands to simple reason what time standard the South African President chooses to work from.

Maybe Zuma wanted to give a lesson to Charlene how nice it feels when you have to wait for someone 2 damnd hours?!
Wasn't it in February in S.A. where she was reported to have been late for 2 (!) hours for an radio interview?
(And it is not 'only' the interviewer who has a problem then but the whole program of the day must be re-organized, so many people involved...)

Actually, Jenny Crwys-Williams waited for two hours and then she found out that Charlene was not even coming that day. The day that Charlene did show up and was actually interviewed, she was late. So, Charlene was worse than Zuma who eventually did show up. But the likes of Charlene's fan wouldn't dare asked Charlene to publicly apologize. Jenny played to the public that Charlene's lateness/no show was no fault of Charlene, but of hers.

MyAdia my memory for details is not as good as yours ... but I'm famous for keeping in mind details for years which happen to gain importance years after they happened. Well ... CW being late for her own interview in S.A. was easy to remember - I'm German and not showing up in time in business context is a no go!

CW is also late for her French lessons or even misses them altogether as we noted in here before too.
Learning French is rather important one would think ....

Exactly, axelle - in our/ the real world. In her little world plastic surgery and fashion and her pics in glossy magazines are more important. And we have to admit - she got the prize ring, money and title- being permanently late, permanently lying and without learning the local language(s). Nonetheless she doesn't come any further as to the point she is now: a girl without high school degree, without profession in a loveless pro forma marriage and in a role she couldn't and can't and will never perform good - it's catch 22 Even Lenin knew: learn, learn and never stop learning and developing yourself...

At french TV, T Lacoste said that they were in diffrent hotels because during CIO meeting family are never around. ;D Thierry Lacoste is a big fat liar! It has already been mentioned that Charlene attended an IOC event with Albert in 2006 and she attended an IOC reception at this Durban meeting. so, Lacoste lies so much he doesn't even care if his leis make a lick of sense - which they don't. In addition to the photos already posted in this thread of Charlene at an IOC event, here's an article with a photo of Albert attending the IOC closing dinner, in which some IOC members brought their families. People even noted that Charlene sis not attend. I love the comment from someone who attended Albert and Charlene's wedding reception and stated that it was only finger food so that were still hungry afterward. From the Times (South Africa):
Prince treated to a banquet fit for a king17 July, 2011 Shamir, Saantha and Saras Naidu with Prince Albert of Monaco at the International Olympic Committee dinner, held at Sibaya Casino As a native of South Africa's playground, my view that nothing tops Durban hospitality may be construed as being biased.
The city offers a warm climate and even warmer people.
My view was backed up by the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) delegates, including Prince Albert of Monaco. They were treated like royalty at last Friday night's IOC closing dinner, held at the Sibaya Casino.
PRINCE CHARMING:
The star attraction was the newly married prince, who arrived sans Princess Charlene. Her absence left guests pondering whether she had run off home to Benoni in light of speculation of a break-up before their matrimony. Instead, it turned out she was in Cape Town being charmed by the loveable Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu.
Friendly and warm, His Serene Highness dined with commoners, sipping on a 2009 Nederburg Pinotage and happily mingling with guests.
Afterwards, he posed for photographs and shook the hands of a snaking line of fans, leaving his dessert of custard and berries topped with spun sugar half-eaten.
Other guests included eThekwini speaker Logie Naidoo (who shimmered in a white and blue beaded suit), Minister of Sport Fikile Mbalula and IOC member Sam Ramsamy, who hosted the gala dinner.
HEAR YE HEAR YE: Formalities, directed by acclaimed storyteller and poet Gcina Hlope, included speeches by IOC president Jacques Rogge, Ramsamy and Mbalula. They were short and relevant.
FIT FOR A KING: Sibaya's Imbizo Room was transformed beautifully. Black and white tablecloths with velvet-embossed prints and perspex jewel-encrusted candelabra centre pieces added a dimension of magic to the evening.
A starter of smoked salmon, avocado and feta cheese topped with caviar was a success.
The Eastern-inspired buffet included fish biryani, mutton curry, chicken curry, beetroot salad and carrot pickle attracted much interest - even from the prince, who tucked into the biryani with a side of pickle.
COURT JESTERS: Jazz singer Natalie Rungan, dressed in a sexy brown and shimmery little number, was simply dazzling.
She is a brilliant singer with, according to my dinner companions, ''killer legs". She was followed by members of the Surialanga Dance Company, who brought a truly South African flavour to the evening. Their Zulu/Indian dance fusion, with a rendition of the South African national anthem in Hindi, was a perfect way to show off Durban's multicultural heritage.
OVERALL: It seemed the dinner was a hit and even better than the royals' private reception, held the previous night at the Oyster Box Hotel.
Said one guest who attended the reception, "Calypso Event Management, (who organised Friday night's dinner) certainly know how to throw a bash."
Another guest, who had cracked an invite to both the lavish red-carpet cocktail party and the IOC dinner, said they had been treated to a selection of gourmet finger snacks at the Thursday do, leaving them still hungry. He had to dash off to a take-away for a "'proper meal", he said.
Calypso's Sadha Naidoo made sure guests at the IOC dinner were well fed.

Curious that she had to run off to Cape Town to that meeting with Desmond Tutu. The whole reason for this postponement of the wedding was about this IOC trip. Then she stays in another hotel and doesn't go to the official functions when he does. Hmmmm

Next question - weren't they supposed to be back today?
What happened - anybody know anything?
