The thing is that these idiots have not taken into account the number of people CW has offended. There are quite a lot of people - people with money and influence who simply dislike her - for a lot of reasons. These are people who know, and spend money on these designer. What they say, and have said, to these designers about CW holds a great deal of weight with them. For all these dopes know, and stupid Stahl is at the head of the stupid people, someone like myself is very close friends with Armani, I might even have a close relative working for him - and perhaps Karl is a close friend. You get the idea. Just because someone isn't "famous" doesn't mean they don't have a great deal of respect and influence. From where I sit - CW really is toast if she thinks she's going to make it far in the fashion world. She's a joke and no amount of money will change that - and PA just doesn't have any gravitas on the world stage that would make any kind of a difference to whether she is "accepted" or not. He's basically a joke as well. (He didn't have to be. In the beginning I, like most of us here, really had high hopes for him - but maybe it's a good example of The Peter Principal at work here ...?)I have been trying to make this point for a long time. Also, Albert could have used a woman (I mean that in a nice way) to help him gain some gravitas, if he had chose differently and for the right reasons. But he would have done much much better on his own, if whomever is running the show over there, were not so shallow and simpleminded to believe it of everyone else.
Your are right, they both don't make a difference in the world, although one of them could have if he had lived up to his own words. I think that the problem here is no longer whether you like one or the other, but rather whom to despise most. An I am afraid it must be Albert. CW is only following a natural instinct and sth women have done and been forced to do for centuries on: she is using all her means to secure her livelihood. On the other hand we have Albert who has had everything at his fingertips and is giving everything away because he just can't be bothered to make an effort. He can't be bothered to pull his act together and be a decent head of state and he can't be bothered to get into a relationship with someone who is at least intellectually and educationally his equal. He prides himself of being a sportsman and the discipline it takes to succeed in sport. Well, we know how far he got in his sport. And we can see how he is doing in his job as head of state and how he does in relationships with equal women....in all of them he failed and with the latter I doubt that he ever tried. I am sorry, but this man does not have the discipline and dedication it takes to be a great sportsman, politician, husband or anything. And that is because Albert is a quitter. In a 100m race he quits after 50m because he sees that others are ahead and he would have to fight to get them again. He sees he can't win so he doesn't even try to come in second or third. He set out to make MC an example to the rest of the world, turning it's lack of size into an advantage. Instead he drives his country within less then a decade from a prospering country to the verge of bankruptcy. And why? Because he would have had to stand up to a few people and show them who is boss and get things done. But that would have taken hard and tedious work. And no bystanders clapping their hands and applaud. Albert had it all and threw it away out of cowardice and laziness paired with self deception and inexcusable naivety...And that's why he is worse then CW. She only played her cards right when given the chance, but he had all aces and gave them away. And what is worse is that he has the behaviour of a gambler with 12 kids at home, betting all the savings on one number. He does not think once about what the kids will be eating the next day and how to clothes them. All he cares for is this one kick. Albert does the same thing in marrying CW and he doesn't think once about the consequences... I agree with a lot of this, and I want to add to this post but I'm completely falling apart right now. But I have to say I am not so easy on Charlene either--there's no excuse or justifying her, and she has been a negative factor in Albert's life for a long time with little care or concern about being that. The problems I have with Charlene go much further than just being ignorant. Good night ladies!

If you have a Kindle, go out and get (on Amazon www.amazon.com/Queen-Fashion-Marie-Antoinette-Revolution/dp/0805079491) the book - What Marie Antoinette wore to the revolution. It details why her fashion decisions (she had to have expensive clothes unlike her predecessors who wore less ostentatious clothes) led to her downfall and the downfall of her husband. I've been reading it to my daughter and there are passages I want to send to Albert and Charlene because it will be them.

Thanks for the article Scout - I moved it here because I want to keep the Who Made IT thread to topics about who made the attires Charlene made. I am going to move the troll comments to a new thread also. Charlene continues to wear her boob popping trashy bustier strapless backless halter tops clothing because her flunkies, especially Arnmani and Karl Lagerfeld, have told her that her shoulders exposed make her look great! This bimbo-dimwit REALLY believes that she looks good with all her shoulder/back exposed outfits! Really, she does.

Has she been seen with the same outfit again apart from the horrid crochet one? And yes, "girls" on show seems to be de rigueur for her on every occasion... Sad... She must have longed to have them all her life and could not afford them...

This Huffington Post article is really funny because the style writers (who participate on these royal message boards) always rave about Charlene's outfits which all were the same drab colors. Now all of a sudden they decided to write her a letter to change. I agree with the New York times style editor Cathy who called Charlene's style as flat as a pancake. Charlene really is not stylish, Charlene styles herself in expensive clothing - there is a difference. Although she is not dressing like a street walker anymore, she just resembles a coat hanger with expensive clothes - one of those cheap wire metal hangers you get from the cleaners.
Princess Charlene Wears Camel Again, Makes Us Wish For Some Color
By Ellie Krupnick 12/ 5/11
Dear Princess Charlene,
We know (or, we assume) that being a princess is tough. Eyes always on you, the media ready to pounce at any moment, the photo opps endless. So getting dressed is a challenge. As you said yourself in Vogue:
"Finding my fashion feet has certainly been the biggest challenge... I was literally a fish out of water. I thought it was all fun, fun, fun, and didn't give my outfit any thought."
So we imagine your plan of attack was to go simple. If you keep things basic, it's hard to mess up. Everything matches black, beige doesn't clash with anything and gray is practically fool-proof.
And yet. Cathy Horyn came out in August pen ablaze, writing that your style was "something of a flat pancake." She wasn't totally right -- but she wasn't completely off-base, either. Your light blue Armani wedding outfit was pitch-perfect, as was your fuchsia Akris gown at the Red Cross Ball and your bright print maxi dress from July.
But lately, Char, it's been black, beige and more black. And then more beige today. You could wear any color of the rainbow with that glowing skin tone and great blonde hair -- yet you choose earth tones like it's your job. Your coat at today's Christmas Village Inauguration was fine, we suppose. But with all the blah hues, you're inching closer and closer into the flat pancake zone...
We'll let it slide this time, Princess Charlene. But next time try some colors or some prints! We promise they don't bite.
Love, HuffPost Style

Hello ladies! I just had my laugh of the day! After reading the Huffington Post article mentioned above, I was checking out the comments to see what people were saying. Sure enough, there was at least one familiar and staunch Charlene supporter saying the usual, she's classy, stunning, lovely, others are jealous. Tearing down Cathy Horyn. The usual that you've come to expect. Then there was this one that, although not that clever, just made me laugh:
"I love Charleen in beige and camel. She is the most beautiful, elegant, charming royal toady."
You might miss it, but nice typo! Royal toady! The rest is mostly staunch supporters who say the usual while tearing down others. Only a few objective people with actual reasoning as to why she should wear more color, etc. It's telling how Charlene supporters chime in with "jealous, leave her alone," and such even if someone only suggested something politely, without resorting to their style of viciousness. What does this really say about the type of people around her?

What does this really say about the type of people around her? It says that Charlene supporters are just like her - vile. You attract who you are. Charlene exhibits the same behavior on the royal message boards. For six years she she spent her time cut others down to promote herself. Charlene and her flunkies are obsessed with Kate. Seriously extremely obsessed with Kate. They spend most of their time cutting down every single aspect of Kate and her family's life with the insane belief that Charlene is much BETTER than Kate. These people are insane and extremely vile. I have learned it is best to let them live in their fantasy world and NEVER try to reason with them.

SERIOUS need!
it's better to step away than argue with crazy people. the proof she's a failure in the US, is the fact she has no media coverage in high profile magazines. i assume they don't take payola and can't be bought by the flying monkey flunkies (shrug) pathetic trannies are of no interest in the real world of magazine sales

She's a failure in Europe to - she has no media coverage in high profile magazines here either. People do not know who she is...
And Albert’s popularity is also totally gone.

Can you imagine just how much more narcissistic this woman has become now that she is always surrounded by a team of flunkies, including make-up artist, hair and clothing stylists always telling her how BEAUTIFUL, ELEGANT and WONDERFUL she is. Here is a photo of a make-up artist who did Charlene's face during the wedding party trip to Durban at the Oyster Hotel. Notice the extra folks she that are waiting on her in the background. Below is the photo and the comment this sucker-upper had to say about Conlene (it took an entire afternoon to do her make-up). Look at that face (warning: it's high definition), can you imagine having to suck up to that all the time. MY AFTERNOON WITH HER SERENE HIGHNESS I had the pleasure of meeting and working with the princess of Monaco, Charlene, this year. She is an incredible person with a wicked sense of humour, and she is an elegant and inspiring ambassador for South Africa and Monaco.

Wicked sense of humour...i wonder if the make up artist made a faux pas there, or she really tried to say that? WC is wicked.

wicked can mean several things. It does not necessarily mean evil. You can often hear people say that sth is wicked, meaning great. It says more about the person saying it then about trashy. It certainly states that the speaker does not figure among intellectuals. But then again make up people are usually roughly at the same level as trashy. So obviously they can bond with her. As long as she thinks that they make her look good. I wouldn't want to know what she is like when she is displeased with the result, which will happen soon enough, when no plaster can cover up the traces of her butchering her face

I think i also read that Diana was said to have a wicked sense of humor... at least she shares that with Di, apart from being tall, blonde and having blue eyes, there, the similarities end.

I think i also read that Diana was said to have a wicked sense of humor... at least she shares that with Di, apart from being tall, blonde and having blue eyes, there, the similarities end. Just a few days ago there was a interview in an Austrian newspaper with Rosamunde Pilcher about Romance and Monarchies. www.news.at/articles/1149/510/313839/rosamunde-pilcher-queen-romantikShe said about Diana that she was unfortunately quite brainless - while the Queen is very intelligent. They were too different to make it work! ... why this makes me think of Charlene and Caroline BTW Rosamunde Pilcher was and is exited by Will & Catherine and their wedding. WHILE SHE SAYS ABOUT MONACO's wedding it was "the most depressing wedding I have ever seen." The title of the article is "QUEEN OF ROMANCE"... so we can assume she knows what she is talking and writing about...
