don't forget that these are small and tight roads. the procession does take a lot of space in itself, so there is not much space left for those who just happened to be there. Also note that they did not stand on the balcony, they walked over from the palace. this mass thing took place in front of the caserne, which is from where CW will be walking to the palace. Most people present were probably the choir (I noticed familiar faces) and those involved in the mass (priests, laymen etc) and the usual handful of elderly who attend these things plus the odd tourist that happened to be there

What's missing from all these photos, especially those of albert and Charlene waving fromn the balcony - is a photo of the crowd at the balcony. How many people came out to see once again their soon-to-be Princess Charlene? Well, you don't see any because the crowd had to be sparse - and the palace wants to hide that fact a week before their great made-for-tv "event. " I did find one photo that gives you an indication the size of the crowd - besides the members of the processional. How funny! Thats the crowd!
