good eye axelle!!! she isn't wearing her ring!!! okay 3, 2, 1 ... stand by for the palace or sugar loonie explanation for THAT! she looks like hell. shouldn't brides be glowing before their big day. Thanks! She sometimes doesn't wear it - kind of odd. Considering the more substantial information today about her passport being confiscated- her fleeing had to at least be an impulse if not a reaction. Given her level of maturity I wouldn't be surprised if she flushed it, like a teenager breaking up, before making a run for the airport.

I can't say I'd blame her since the news of the third child seems to be true. I really think if she called it off and headed home, she would find that people would show respect for her decision. She might actually end up with some other wealthy older guy and be much happier. The title is just not worth it - nor the cash. JMO

The airport event happened a week ago. Since then, Charlene did an interview with Albert, attended the Jumping event and visited Greece for the Special Olympics. After the story broke, Charlene participated with Albert in a "we are so in love" photo opp. If you believe that Charlene SERIOUSLY WITHOUT A DOUBT wanted to call off the wedding and return to South Africa, then are you saying that all this time since then she has being held against her will and she is now being forced to REMAIN in Monaco and MARRY Albert against her will?

She has the choice to say "no", nowadays the women are free to say and to make what they want. We cannot impose for one person a marriage, it is really medieval as attitude. but if that was the case: obligation to marry Albertn she has a lot of solutions. If Charlene marries Albert " against her will " it is because she wants it very also (I don't pity her either *)... Albert is not quite powerful... The media are there to make him decrease his cackle... IF she wants to leave that she leaves. But that she made us not the blow of " I can not because we hold as hostage me " it is a little bit big all the same. * She marries him, ejects Albert of her bed, takes himself lover, is engrosser by her lover and basta.... She is free ^^ even married, she is free to choose or to refuse her bed... If she is unfortunate, it's her fault, if her marriage is a failure it's her fault also if her husband has her trunk it's her fault also. We do not agree to get married because it is cool, it is good or for some money. A marriage implies obligations, responsibilities that implies, however both parts are in love and no one is loving obliging other one to say yes... She had time to know albert, he deceived her during their relation, if she believes that it is going to stop because she almost left, she dreams about any top... Albert is a misogynist... Set apart her mother, show me a woman whom he respects... In any case not charlene because he deceived her... and I said and repeat : I don't pity her either.

Nope, I believe she saw a perfect opportunity to renegotiate the pre-nup and got what she wanted. I couldn't blame her if she really wanted to leave but we all know she's pulled the airport move before. As someone pointed out, it's not a long drive to get over the boarder especially to Switzerland. Albert is an idiot!

I think you are right Hibou - traction for a renegotiation. Well if that is the case - it seems to have worked.
One thing bothers me - why would she try to bolt to South Africa when her whole family is right there?
Wouldn't she have run to her family this doesn't make sense to me.
She'd bolt and leave her family there on PA's property?

Is it just me or are we all being played? Why would CW run to SA alone when all of her family is in Monaco already? Can anyone enlight me. Maybe i am just missing a part of this Saga!!

Exactly--If Charlene was going to escape she would not have flown back to SA anyway--fly back to where? To who? In her posts she talks bad of Africa and her desire to escape it--one way ticket to SA? Please

This article by the Riviera Times shocked me because it is SO VERY different than the over the top sugary praises about Charlene and this wedding. I don’t think this article was not written by either of the Riviera Times reporters who normally sold this fairy tale couple and savior Charlene for the last year. The title especially, in addition to the skeptical tone of the article, shows that this particular reporter has either forgot to drink her “perfect Charlene and fairy tale loving couple” Kool-Aid that morning or perhaps the Riviera Times is weaning themselves off the Kool-Aid and decided to enter in the real world with the rest of us (or perhaps they just got off the crack pipe, which would explain their promotion of these two and this wedding as a big image and economic boost for Monaco!). What’s really clear to me is that this reporter believes L’Express because of their “top-class, well-connected investigative journalists” reputation in contrast to the lying reputation. From Riviera Times:
Can a PDA put an end to the 'jealous' gossips?
Prince Albert II and his princess-to-be put on a happy display of unity as Palace demands Express.fr reveal the identity of their mole
30 June 2011
As Monaco continues to busily get ready for their royal nuptials this weekend, rumours of pre-wedding problems between the betrothed are abuzz, both in the Principality and in the international press.
Yesterday, in the face of the scandal that rocked the couple on Tuesday, Prince Albert II and his fiancée, Charlene Wittstock, were seen strolling around the streets of the principality arm-in-arm.
And, on the surface at least, the media frenzy surrounding them seemed to be far from bothering them as they leisurely soaked up the sun and inspected how the preparations for their wedding were going.
Despite the smiles, it is almost certainly proving to be a tough time for Charlene Wittstock, who it was reported by L'Express had tried to flee last week to her native South Africa with a one way ticket in the face of new revelations regarding her partner's private life.
In Paris, seemingly a million miles away from sunny Monaco, the battle between the prince and Express.fr ensues.
Despite threatening them with an injunction, the newspaper claims that no such thing has been issued against them and their article so far remains on their website. Instead, the palace has issued a firm denial, citing 'jealousy' to be at the root of the damaging accustaions, whilst the prince's lawyers have demanded that L'Express reveal the source of the story. The paper has refused.
Speaking to the press, editor-in-chief, Renaud Revel, said that as an investigative journalist he would make sure the confidentiality of his sources is protected at all cost.
L'Express is a weekly national newspaper, which has a reputation in France for having top-class, well-connected investigative journalists.
Since its revelations were published, news sources around the world have been picking up on the story and the wedding has started to make headlines across the globe for the first time.
If yesterday's public display of affection is anything to go by, regardless of the hurtful whispers, everything should run smoothly this Friday and Saturday.
However, there can be no doubt that the last two days have marred proceedings somewhat and it is likely that come the Big Day, people will be scrutinizing not only the bride's dress but also the expression on her face.
Here are the comments from the article: Geoff | 30.06.2011'Hurtful whispers' bit biased isn't it? Geoff | 30.06.2011Maybe she was returning to her home planet! Melanie | 01.07.2011if what I heard was true, I'd have jumped on a plane home too..
