You know when many of us started this journey five years ago with Charlene and Albert, we kept saying that eventually the truth would come out, but could any of us foresee this big a fiasco. Who could have imagined this, and he still doesn't get it. If you compare him to Michael Jackson, MJ now seems more in touch with the outside world than Albert. JMO

Seriously, I was going to start a thread soliciting opinions about what you think Albert and Monaco should do after this big PR failed wedding to increase his people's confidence in him and boost Monaco's image and its economy. I now realized after reading the wedding Exhibit supposedly record visitors and now this Monaco Hebdo article, that is not necessary. Albert seems to already have a solution - just make shit up. Seriously. Of course this strategy will not help Monaco, but clearly Albert doesn't care. We already know that Albert and Monaco's government will deem this wedding a great financial investment for Monaco. So, here are examples how they just make shit up. In this interview with Monaco Hebdo, Monaco's consul to New-York Maguy Maccario states that: Americans love Monaco, Monaco has a positive image in the U.S., the U.S. Press speaks about Monaco's events all the time, Americans love Albert because they can identify with him and the Jarre Wedding concert had a North American audience of 225 million people. Oh, I almost forgot, Luis Alberto Erize, Monaco's consul to Buenos Aires states that Argentines thought that the wedding was perfect! Plus, Charlene's beauty, elegance and simplicity has conquered all of Argentina and they all love her! Seriously, Monaco is in deep trouble because these people are serious in thinking that they can just solve Monaco's image and financial problems by just making shit up!
What do Americans think of Monaco?
It is recognized that the Principality emanates a scent of the Atlantic, the Americans they like it so far? Maguy Maccario for, Consul of Monaco in New York, the answer is a big yes.By Aline Lambert Friday, July 22, 2011
Americans like Monaco. In any case, assertions, without a shadow of a doubt, Maguy Maccario, Consul of Monaco in New York: "There has always been a very emotional link between the Principality and the United States. This comes especially from the union between Prince Rainier and actress Grace Kelly American icon. In addition, English is widely spoken, security is perfect. Not to mention that the Riviera is a favorite of the American public. "The image of Monaco in the United States and is very positive." They have the image of a country very open, affordable, friendly. The American feels at home. American culture is everywhere. They especially like the naturalness, simplicity and hospitality of Monaco. They may even prefer the French!" Jokes Maguy Maccario.
What marks the American What comes directly to the minds of Americans when they speak of Monaco: "First, the beauty of the place is a gift of nature with the sea and the mountains! Those who came to fall in love. Then there is of course the royal family. Everyone dreams of royalty, especially since there are none in the United States. "Albert II is a sacred bond between the giant and the micro-state:" The prince is American blood, by his mother. He is bilingual and has a very U.S. side. They like him because he is a bit like them, he has the same thinking. "Not to mention the emblems of the Principality:" The Grand Prix and Yacht Show remain an absolute interest to the public around the world. "
"The press continually talks of Monaco" According to the diplomat, the U.S. press widely covered events. "Monaco has an international reputation that exceeds its size. The press in the United States speaks constantly of new museums, charity events, cultural or sports with tennis or the Grand Prize." But these days, especially the royal wedding which was spoken in New York. "Vogue Magazine published an interview with Charlene very positive. This marriage is the continuation of the Americans' image of Monaco. It offers a dream deeply rooted in reality.
Although it did not receive the same coverage as the marriage of Prince Rainier and Princess Grace. "
Maguy Maccario attended, with the Consular Corps of Monaco, the religious ceremony. "This is a historic moment. Mass, the scene was magical! I tip my hat to all those who participated in the organization. Marriage has a lot of work and coordination, but it seemed simple and easy. It had a warm but solemn, with a very spiritual ceremony. It was beautiful, I will cherish this moment all my life! "
Specifically for the consulate, marriage has meant more followers on Twitter, more fans on Facebook and a record on the website www.visitmonaco.com / us on the day of the religious ceremony, with nearly 7000 unique visits. In addition, a press release about the concert by Jean-Michel Jarre and his broadcast was distributed to 309 U.S. media. Result: a North American audience of nearly 225 million viewers.
Another royal wedding on TV ... On television too, Monaco occupies the land. U.S. series Gossip Girl fashion, aired on The CW, is to stage its own royal wedding. Blair Waldorf, one of the main heroines of the series played by Leighton Meester, is enamored of Prince Louis Grimaldi fictitious. A name that tells you something? This is the French actor who plays Hugo Becker. Britain's Joanne Whanney plays the role of his mother, Princess Sophia. But the choice of the name Louis is it then a coincidence? Some small references to reality were dragged with the entries of Prince Albert, Charlene, and even their wedding of Princess Grace as "Grace" American Princess "Kelly."
At the end of Season 4 of the series , released in May, the prince and the beautiful became engaged. A new royal wedding is in sight. Meanwhile, the characters had already planned to spend their summer in the Principality. In the last episode, Blair dreamed of a vacation: "I look forward to Monaco.Strolling the exotic garden, enjoy the exhibits at the Villa Paloma ... "No confirmation, however, turning in Monaco at the moment. The Principality for a U.S. series, so it's glamorous and dream of fairy tale. And an unfortunate reference: Blair would have followed in the summer a match ASM-PSG. No doubt: it is indeed a fiction ...?
And in South America? Monaco Hebdo has received the opinion of Luis Alberto Erize, Consul of Monaco in Buenos Aires, Argentina: "The Principality has always been the image of a great tradition, elegance and generosity. She is known for its concern for the future of the world and nature conservation. The Argentines are particularly interested in the traditional look but also to science and the generosity of the city. It embodies the bastion of Europe. As for the royal wedding, it was perfect. The princess has mixed the beauty, elegance and simplicity. She has conquered all."
[/b] What more?[/blockquote]

Oh, I almost forgot, Luis Alberto Erize, Monaco's consul to Buenos Aires states that Argentines thought that the wedding was perfect! Plus, Charlene's beauty, elegance and simplicity has conquered all of Argentina and they all love her! Seriously, Monaco is in deep trouble because these people are serious in thinking that they can just solve Monaco's image and financial problems by just making shit up! What the F...?! Ok, here's what happened in Argentina with this farse: They got covers in magazines like Hola, Gente, Caras...(all magazines that are the equivalent of France' Point de Vue, or Hello, or Bunte, etc..) I actually have one of this magazines, but i haven't had the time (yet) to scan it properly. I can do it with my mobile, but it would be shitty quality. Certainly, most of these magazines were very sugary with them. In one of them (the one i have) it says as big title: "The wedding of the Last Playboy" Here's the cover (scanned with my mobile) I read a little, then i saw it was very sugary, and i didn't finished it. Then i re-read it again. But, here since Maxima got married people is a little bit interested in monarchies. Just a little bit. Imagine, royalty has to be (in people's imaginary) the best of the best, so yeah, the comments in the magazines were that Charlene is beautiful, an accomplished swimmer, yeah, she is perfect. But, nobody cared. Actually, there's a TV show here, where people go and participate. It's called "Save the Millon": People go and have 1 millon bucks to save, they are asked questions and they multiple choice answers. They have to put the millon (or divided in the anwers they have if they are not sure) in the answer to save it. Last week, in this show, there was this question: "What sport used to practice Charlene Wittstock, the wife of Prince Albert II of Monaco?" The answers were: basket ball, swimming, fencing and other i don't remember. The particpants didn't have any idea who Charlene was. They put almost all the money in "fencing". There they have an idea of the impact of Charlene here...

Here’s another article that shows how Monaco is going to deem Albert and Chalrene’s wedding a success by both boosting its image and its economy. This article adds more information to the articles published in the Monaco media which also stated that the Albert and Charlene’s 2nd wedding concert, the Jarre concert, was watched by more than three billion around the world. Really? Seriously, Monaco got this concert audience number the same place they got the number that 200,000 came to Monaco during the wedding and the wedding only cost $30 million – they just made it up! I am with Countess – these people need to put down the crack pipe. Do they know how ridiculous they sound repeating some idiotic cap like this? Read in French here”
Record audience for the concert by Jean-Michel Jarre in Monaco
The concert of Jean Michel gave the Port Hercule in the wedding of HSH Prince Albert of Monaco, Charlene Wittstock with has been widely followed in the world. Indeed, apart from EURONEWS which broadcast the concert live on its network (121countries) and those of its international affiliates, the show was widely watched on television in Europe, India, China, Indonesia in South America and the United States. A very large audience attended the concert also on the Internet, first through ustream.tv and the multitude of platforms that relay the signal broadcast by the resumption of ustream player. On the other hand during the three hours of the event, the concert has been ranked number 4 in the ranking of world trends Twitter (Twitter Trends) of the most relayed. By adding YouTube and News Access, thus more than three billion people partially or fully shared the concert of Jean Michel Jarre on 1 July 2011.

well so they stuck a different sticker on the bottle. Big deal. It's not like the content has been made for the wedding only. anyways they are now pushing stories about what a great success the wedding was for the sponsors. MC Matin runs with the story about the bMW and how well they are selling. Of course they are they are selling them as used cars when they were only used the few meters that weekend. of course they claim that these too have been specificly made for the wedding....yeah like what? anything that you can't get with your new BMW if you are willing to pay extra? if not then it is just a normal used car. Such idiots. Paca mentioned this in the partner thread and in reality BMW was a partner/sponsor of the wedding. But, it seems that the palace couldn't call them an official one since they already had a car sponsorship with Lexus. Below is the Monaco Matin article that the palace flunkie/reporter Cedric is trying to give Albert and Charlene credit (deeming the wedding a success) because BMW is selling NEW cars (only driven for a few minutes) as used with a 20% discounts. As Paca mentioned, the car sales is not a success of the wedding but rather buyers just show that people who can still afford luxury cars are taking advantage of a good deal. Actually, the fact that they have to sell "the official cars used by wedding guests" at a discount reveals the low appeal that Albert and Charlene has as opposed thesuccess crap that these fools are trying to sell them as.
The princely wedding's BMW carried away by successby CEDRIC Verany Saturday, July 30, 2011
They were 200 cars BMW 7 Series at royal wedding. Discrete but very useful. A ballet of displacements made available by the German automaker in order to organize the transport of royalty, celebrities and heads of state during the festivities of 1 and 2 July.
Past the princely feast, cars - all black - have found the commercial circuit.
One hundred models were sold in Europe and another hundred exclusively in France.
In the Principality, the Monte Carlo LAC concession had kept ten clients Monaco.
"Customers came to us seeking precisely these cars used by the wedding. People wanted to become the model collector.
It's a real success due to the event. The 7 Series models are sold since the end of 2009 and there the marriage was indeed exceptional " welcomes the Director General Baptist Lamaire.
Eight have already been sold, two under negotiation in just a month.
The concession Monaco could even bring others to satisfy any new requests.
Customization As fans of the wedding trying to find cups, candles and jewelry created around the union of Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, buyers set their sights on precisely these special cars.
Inside, BMW has customized the 200 models 7 Series , by plating such a crown on the button I-drive (used to drive the dashboard Ed) and having the same pattern of embroidered cushions in the back seat.
Privilege for the new owners, they receive delivery of their vehicle license plate ephemeral set up to circulate during the marriage.
What is the VIP as proxy play!
A (relative) bargain Behind the object collector , a (relative) bargain. The vehicles, brand new, having served for the days of marriage have been sold as used cars. From 100 000 euros depending on model, either with a 20% reduction compared to conventional prices.
At this rate, against impossible to know which is mounted in the car you buy.
The King of Sweden? Naomi Campbell? Jean-Michel Jarre? Or Bernadette Chirac? The mystery remains ...

In MC matin they had an article that clearly stated that they did not get the anticipated number for the Jarre concert. people didn't bother to watch it live for free, why would they go on the net to see it? Do these people really think that making up numbers in advance, then saying that they got the numbers after everyone there saw how empty the place was? I came back from Nice late afternoon and even the Monegasques weren't rushing to the palace. My bus was practically empty. Sorry, but for all these people to get to MC on time for the wedding and the concert you would have had major roadblocks. There would have to be traffic alerts to suggest to take different roads, bus or train. I don't think that you would find them. MC only has them during Grand Prix.

MyAdia they also claim that they are collectors items...collectors items make the price go up not down right? why do the BMW dealers not want to benefit then? their bad conscience because they are making Nazi Goebbels relations richer? I find it btw rather fitting that a white dumb blonde woman from a country with a longtime racist history thinks it is a good idea to chauffeur her guests around in cars that make Magda Goebbels grandchildren rich. The children from the only child she did not kill as he was already adult at the time. And of course the dumb blonde woman from the racist country did not deem her mixed race stepson fit to attend. In fact she pretends he does not exist. Just like the black lovers that her husband prefers in bed, but does not care to marry because they are not white, blond and blue eyed....

Great Monaco Matin headline today! The headlines states a fact that the number liars should ask themselves ... are the tourists actually spending money in Monaco? Many tourists but little spending
|
|
|
Post by paca on Jul 30, 2011 13:42:21 GMT -5
the headline is about the entire region, but considering that Albert said it would be having an effect on the region... the problem is that cost of living in France are almost 3 times as high as i.e. in Germany. The French usually vacation at home in summer, that is French destinations. In winter direction Egypt, etc. Hence they have less money to spend. French and Italian tourists have been the largest numbers in recent years to come to MC; but MC is even more expensive then the rest of the region. So people come to look on a bad day and either take their sandwiches or buy them at the supermarket. Some even only come for half a day, hence no spending...

OMG! seriously, this is creepy scary like dictator scary what Monaco (especially Albert and he palace) is doing to conned people into believing this wedding was a success. Each day they are coming up with just more lies and distortions to show how successful every element of this wedding was. Are the people in Monaco really seriously - REALLY THIS STUPID! I'll post the article next, but here is the front page news from the Monaco Matin: Princely Wedding: the success of the souvenirs

It seems from the article that the limited edition souvenirs that they ordered have not sold out. How can something be selling like hotcakes for almost a month and then you still have them in stock? So, how are they measuring success? How many souvenirs were made and how many were sold and in what period of times? How many were sold to tourists as opposed to perhaps the palace scooping them up? What about the earlier articles before the wedding when they reporting that tourists weer not really buying the souvenirs? Should the people in Monaco be asking these questions? This type of reporting is what you would expect in dictatorial regimes where there is no freedom of the press. Oh wait, Monaco does not have true freedom of the press because it is against the law to insult the princely family. So, I guess saying that his tens of millions of dollars wedding was a complete PR failure, image booster failure and an economic failure. Oh, let's not forget a love match failure. Here is the article from the Monaco Matin
When the princely wedding is the buzzby Laura Sahin Monday, August 1, 2011 Candles are now increasingly hard to find
Fans, key rings, plates, mugs, champagne flutes ... objects dedicated to the royal wedding snapped up like hot cakes for almost a month. "With the arrival of stocks, Monaco were the first to be interested in this range marriage.
Some came to buy a thirty keychain to be able to offer their families and friends," says Magali, sales La Boutique SBM.
The same is true on the other side of the Principality on the Palace Square. "Our stock is disappointingly low because of the influx of tourists since the marriage. It was not until a few days to meet the strong demand, both on the Internet that store, " says Fabienne Thou, director of eight stores Souvenirs Shop on the rock.
In the 2nd postcard to the 75 th champagne flutes, tourists do not hesitate to hand the wallet, even if some objects in the image of the couple. "Only postcards, stamps and tokens are illustrated by the face of Albert and Charlene. It's a shame because many customers would have liked other objects with their portraits," said a trader from the port.
No shortage for the range luxury While souvenir shops "classic" are struggling to meet demand for their clients, luxury brands, they have always filled their windows.
Mugs from € 59 in pie plate at 270 €, the special edition wedding in fine porcelain, gilded with fine gold, has no problem stock. "The arrival of balances has accelerated sales. But we can, obviously, to meet the demand of tourists and Monaco," says Rachel, an employee of a boutique luxury Metropole.
One week after the royal wedding, all lovers of the Principality, armed with patience, have pure partir with their memories. At all costs.

Does any one remember the beanie baby phase? Remember how all the celebs wanted a beanie named after them or one of their pet causes. Good thing the beanies have died down. Can you imagine a beanie associated with Albert and Charlene. What it be? and what would the little story stay inside the tag? Albert's would be some sort of Artic creature and Charlene's some sort of odd fish they haven't done yet? Any body want to have some fun on this one?
The Princess Diana beanie came out after her death and all profits went to her charities. They sold out quickly at around $10 a piece. I forget how much they pulled in from that one.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Oh my god, well he should cut his losses and save the money he is paying for press. This article is too funny--it was the American papers that wrote the unflattering articles--The New York Times! Charlene and Albert didn't seem to have anything to say to them. People liked Monaco because they liked Grace who is the polar opposite of Charlene in every way--why would he expect any Americans to admire someone who would disgrace Grace while trying to ride her coattails. Americans likes Kate because she is her own woman, and she smartly has taken the opposite position of Charlene, who has only projected the image of gold-digging woman looking to indulge and promote herself. The US is a merit based society and there is no reason for them to find one more moronic self aggrandizing gold-digger to hold any interest for the. We have our own Olympic Swimming Champions, one that has as many as ELEVEN MEDALS around her neck, most of them GOLD, and she does not come near the self promotion that Charlene does in trying to leverage a fifth to last placement in a relay swim over a decade ago. Who do they think they are writing these articles for? People in the US don't have to be told how popular these two people are--they live there! If Albert wanted some attention from the US he should have married an American, or at least someone intelligent and down to earth like Kate, instead of an arrogant insecure ignorant women who is beyond juvenile and hasn't stopped trying to impress the public with her leveraging of what she imagines as her royal clout since the day she met Albert and "she knew she was home". ;D I don't understand why they want to make themselves as pathetic and obnoxious as possible now -- Albert screwed himself if he ever thought this obnoxious idiot of a woman had any hopes of attracting Americans to Monaco, especially since Albert now seems to have morphed into her. I also think the people of Monaco don't have to be told how much revenue this wedding brought in--I'm sure they are experiencing the results pf it themselves, and it is a pretty sad day to have to spend this kind of money to just sell a few trinkets. ;D AdminNote: Reduced length of quoted text
