Cape Town – A smooth-talking man from Pretoria has caused an upset after claiming that he possesses a video that shows a catfight between Princess Caroline of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock.
The incident allegedly happened just before the wedding day.
South Africa-born Charlene married Prince Albert II of Monaco in July in a lavish ceremony in Monaco.
David Crighton of Pretoria claimed that he is in possession of a video that shows a vicious fight between Caroline and Charlene on the eve of the much publicised wedding.
He said he was part of a television crew that recorded the wedding and that he saw the fight between the two women with his own eyes.
"It was just fingers being pointed in faces," he told Rapport.
Albert stepped in
Crighton alleged on KykNET’s Tonge Los that he was present when the fight broke out over the jewellery of the late Princess Grace.
Crighton told Rapport that he has promised the video material to several organisations.
He said on Saturday that he is being hounded by the French and British media and that he is currently considering an offer of R9m for the video.
His story seems to be credible, and his knowledge of the Grimaldi dynasty is quite impressive according to Rapport.
He phoned in to the TV programme Tonge Los with his story.
Futhermore, Crighton told Rapport that the argument between the women became so heated that Albert had to step in.
Royal dispute
Albert allegedly wanted Charlene to wear his mother's engagement ring, and apparently his sisters were very upset about this.
Crighton claims that Caroline wants her son, Andrea, to become King of Monaco.
If Albert and Charlene produce an heir, however, Caroline's hopes will be dashed, according to Crighton.
On Tonge Los he also said that Caroline and Stéphanie as well as several friends of the royals refer to Charlene as "Princess Barbie".
Michael Wittstock, father of Charlene Wittstock told Raport on Saturday:"There are no hard feelings or conflict between the royal family and Charlene that I am aware of. Shortly after my speech at the wedding, Andrea (Caroline's son) came up to me, hugged me and told me that I had inspired him. There is no unhappiness here.
"Caroline and Stéphanie cried tears of joy. I don't know where this guy is getting his allegations from."
Media frenzy
Crighton told Rapport on several occasions that he is busy editing the video for the newspaper, but no video was sent.
Explaning the reason for this he says: "The palace wants to buy my silence. That's why I haven't been able to send the video to the papers".
kykNET spokesperson Haddad Viljoen said regarding the allegations: "One ought to be careful to whom one lends your ears. Your sources must always be confirmed and sometimes a story is just too good to be true."
Wittstock maintains that his daughter and Prince Albert are happy and in love and are currently on honeymoon.

I believe it is so very true. Look forward to the release of the video. Hopefully he won't give in to the palace. Interesting that he wanted the slut to have his mother's engagement ring. Shows that he gave it some thought! Not like I thought, that Stahl and the others decided on the marriage and just informed Fatal that he would be getting married and that a jewellery seller was already there. And he picked the measliest ring because he never thougth he would have to go through the wedding. I was wrong! |

Much as I'd love to believe it, if he really had the tape he would have sold it. He would get several million Euros for it - not because of Charlene but because of Caroline. Also it doesn't ring true to me that Caroline would so publicly, in front of a film crew, loose it. On the other hand given how she and her family looked at the wedding, any thing is possible. JMO |

Good find Elektra! Rethinking - probably CW put PA up to it - Kate got Diana's ring so she probably wanted Grace's ring too.

Mmm...i don't know...
If this guy knows soo much about Monaco, why did he say that Caroline wanted Andrea to be King of Monaco? If he knows the Grimaldis that much, he should know that Monaco doesn't have kings but princes!
But...Caroline's face at the civil wedding, it was priceless. So there's a possibility that she might have had a catfight with the Bitchstock.

Also, although Caroline did not seem happy about any of this wedding, I do think she would not lose it in front of a television crew. I can believe that after Kate got Diana's ring, that Charlene asked for Grace's ring. IIRC, it was a red ruby surrounded by diamonds, the colors of Monaco and was designed by Rainier. Did Caroline inherit this ring or did Albert or Stephanie? |

I definitely believe it and especially a fight over jewelry. Albert is truly the Village Idiot of Monaco and has no idea just how much Charlene conned him and what true bitch that she really is. The idea that he sent an entourage to go and get her at the airport is proof that the Village Idiot has no idea just how much Charlene wanted this job - the title, flunkies, fame, money and lifestyle.
Also, something happened with Charlene not wearing her new tiara on the religious wedding day. She had that tiara specially made to wear with her wedding gown. Caroline probably handed over Princess Charlotte hair clips to Charlene as some compromise. Albert deserves every single bit of ridicule that he is getting in the press, especially with everyone reporting that poor Charlene was forced to marry him. He was a sucker then and still is one!

Clearly, this man got facts wrong about the Grimadli history, but that doesn't mean that he and his film crew did not see a fight between Caroline and Charlene - and filmed it! He is probably looking for a higher bidder and I definitely do believe his claim that the palace wants to buy his silence - i.e. Albert and Charlene. Bringing the video to the public's attention ups the market value of the video. Please remember that part of the big fat lie that Albert and the palace sold about this relationship/wedding/marriage is just how much that Albert's sisters loved Charlene.
If this video is revealed is is just another part of the vindication that some like me hoped and even prayed for. Some of us for six years stated that this was a loveless marriage and the revelations from last three weeks vindicated us. We also stated that Caroline cannot stand Charlene and that Charlene is a pathological lying con artist.
I have always stated that in time the truth will reveal itself - and so it is.

She gave two interviews, that one in where she claimed she couldn't have dreamt a better sister in law, and this other one a fews day before the wedding when she denied the rumors about Charlene escaping and so.
Now, in this article, it says the sisters didn't like the idea Grace's ring in Chartard's finger. If Stephanie is soo bff with Chartard, why wouldn't she like Charlene to have her mum's ring?
Stephanie is forced by Albert to say publicly that she likes Charlene? Is that possible?

Actually - I can see Caroline's side in this one. That was her mother - PA can go buy CW a bigger ring if she needs it. It shouldn't mean that Conlene automatically inherits all the family jewels with 2 real daughters with their own children.
This marriage probably won't last too long anyway - get some new stuff that no one has any sentimental value with but Conlene.

On the other hand, thinking about it, it may be the only way she can really show Charlene for who she really is. People that know Caroline, know that if you pick a fight with her, eventually you're doomed. After all Charlene will have to live in Monaco, and if she only had two friends before the wedding, she may find them scarce if this video sees the light of day. I still don't understand why Caroline and the trio didn't boycott the wedding.
