it'll be fun to watch. Last year there were only few pics and it was all about them. Now of course they know that they will be even more scrutinized. Of course they will be forced to put on a show, but with everyone already discussing divorce or annulment, there is heaps of pressure and we know how they kiss under pressure. Bet Stahl send them to Greece for kissing boot camp ;D

is last year when she almost fell down the stairs and FatAl just ignored her and then she clumps behind him like a truckdriver (GAWD she's got an awful, un-graceful, gangly walk like a man)

They so need the trio to take over and bring in some fresh blood. I would love to see what Charlotte and Bea would do with this event.

a couple of days away, i'm curious if anyone has been to MC and if there's a buzz in the air, or if it's just being ignored like the non dynamic duo

the only buzz I hear is from the cicada outside that keeps annoying me every night. Other then that MC is very quiet. Bad weather isn't helping.

I'm just catching up on the news that Joe Cocker is the star act at this year's Red Cross Ball? I don't know what's more shocking that an aging recovering drug addict rocker is the star act or that he's still alive? He has got to be in his 70's! Talk about the Z-list

I just love Joe Cocker's two biggest hits (or is it his only hits) - You Are So Beautiful and his duo with Jennifer Warnes UpWhere We Belong . But, I wouldn't pay €1000 ( $1424) to hear him sing it. I know it's or charity - but still come on $1424!

LOL I guess he is great for the oldies that will attend. at least they will know that nothing is wrong with their hearing aids when they don't understand the lyrics...I bet he is making them up as he goes nowadays anyways as most alcoholics end up having memory problems as they age...but it doesn't matter most of his audience share his problems and age so they will all enjoy the geriatrics party. the only diff to a retiree entertainment is that instead of an armada of walkers you will find chauffeurs and cars at the exit

The Monte Carlo News decided to advertise the the Red Cross ball by highlighting Albert and Charlene. I hope Monaco as a whole doesn't make the same mistake again and use the so-called fairy tale Albert and Charlene as a marketing draw. If so, Monaco will go down even faster. The ad states, " This 63rd edition of the evening the guests are among the most prestigious in the world." - I wonder who the guests are this year because I know they cannot be speaking of the past years. From Monte Carlo news (Italian):
A Monte-Carlo we are preparing a Red Cross Gala "floral"
French is the Gala de la Croix-Rouge Monegasque. And the memory back to exactly a year ago, an evening of glamor and romance with the newly announced engagement of Princeby Sara Contestabile SATURDAY, JULY 23, 2011 And now it's up to the Red Cross Gala in Monte-Carlo dye glamorous memories this summer 2011 while flying a year ago to right: the Red Cross Gala 2010 represented the first official release of the Principles of the couple, then just officially engaged. Remember that magical night of good images in the memory of all: a beautiful princess surrounded by a tremendous Charlene Armani cream (with a crossover neckline on the front which will be continuous shooting right from the magnificent wedding gown) and a pair of beautiful earrings Repossi diamonds. The Red Cross Gala still remains among the most famous gala benefits the Principality of Monaco and the world : in this event 2011-5 August, in the Salle des Etoiles of the Sporting Monte-Carlo, where the guest entertainer for the evening will be the voice Joe Cocker for an event to be held and chaired the presence of HSH Prince Albert II, with the presence of HSH Princess Charlene and the princely family. The Gala de la Croix-Rouge is in its 63rd edition Monegasque charitable organization founded in 1948 by HSH Prince Louis II . The commitment of the Red Cross is constantly and continuously carried forward by the founding principles of humanity and impartiality. Tate consecrated in 2011 are 35 000 hours and over 600 000 euro international rescue teams and about 700 000 euros for social action in Monaco and surrounding municipalities. This 63rd edition of the evening the guests are among the most prestigious in the world and live the moments of the gala in "extraordinary garden" La Salle des Etoiles will be decorated with thousands of fragrant flowers and spectacular letteralmene transform the plant into a paradise. I actually kind of like to hear Joe Cocker songs when I hear them now, but I agree I think they could mix it up a bit and try for newer artist every once in awhile. I have pretty varied taste myself and as much as I also like to listen to new music....Monaco has a population of older people and the crowd that is buying the tickets to these balls are a more mature crowd, but maybe some fresh blood would help introduce a more youthful group of people there. I can think of a lot of artists that could appeal to both crowds. Sometimes people like to hear what is familiar from their youth, and he'll probably get a crowd going there, it's just that they seem to be stuck on an Oldies but Goodies station there--still I prefer Joe Cocker to some of the other groups and I'm sure Albert will by him a ticket for an airplane Maybe Charlene will do a striptease to "You Can Leave Your Hat On" I don't really care I stopped tuning in to the Balls years ago--I lost interest after they started pushing Charlene so hard there as the mock princess, she is still the mock princess as far as I'm concerned.

They didn't use to be. At the time the people and the musicians were on the same level. The musicians were top at their time so there was no age problem. But even when you look at the summer program of sporting club, they mostly have elderly performers. Not the kind that would draw a younger rich crowd. they don't get Lady Gaga or Take that, because none of them think it is in their interest to be heard in MC. MC has lost prestige and thus it doesn't get prestigious artists.hence no prestigious guest and thus follows low tourist numbers.

Good points! So, where are the young people in Monaco these days? The only young people I ever see at the Red Cross Gala are the Casiraghis and their pals.
Do they just grow up and then leave? PA definitely should be investing more in the youth just to keep Monaco moving forward... of course, it's not moving anywhere just the way HE likes it. I guess looking more towards the youth and their new ideas would jeopardize his power.
Monaco needs a more youthful and modern couple like Haakon and MM.

to do what? scare the kids? I have seen her eat and I can't say I want to witness that again: elbows on table, busy chatting while chewing and then food falling out of her mouth back on the plate. Thx, but I know toddlers with better table manners then her
