well, for Joes rescue: it has been warm and very humid these days, even after the rain this morning it is still very humid, so not surprised he is sweating like a pig on stage, especially considering his age, weight and alcohol intake

IMO I think she really is nuts. I mean really. She doesn't seem stable at all - like someone who is close to the edge. And, IMO, I don't see a happy ending here for nay of them at all.

I don't know who this person - but it depicts Charlene's part wooden part plastic part trying to act like an elegant royal lady but failing miserably - look perfectly. Charlene and Albert both look like clowns, but they are both too arrogant and dumb to realize it. In their feeble minds, everyone is just envious of them (although they used the incorrect term jealous).

When I look at these High Definition photos of the full ball, it looks about the same amount people as last year - not sure. Perhaps, it's the dance floor that is larger. Something does look different. Once opened, click on the photos again to enlarge, you can see quite a few of the faces. There are no photos of the flagship couple on the dance floor with the regular plebs - as in the past. HD Dinner (The candlelight is beautiful) HD Dancing1HD Dancing2HD Dancing3 maybe I am wrong, but with people on the dance floor and the tables practically empty, I do not think that they had 800 people. 600 at best IMO I would go closer to 400 though. It really looks empty. A lot more space on the dancefloor by the looks of it too in comparison to previous years. I suspect it has to do with the age of the guest though.... paca I was thinking the same thing. No way were there 800 people. I would say 400 - 450. The space is not that large. By the way, I read on another forum that the designer of Caroline's dress is from SA. So Caroline is promoting SA designers while Charlene is not.

I've jsut watched this movie clip showing Grimaldis entering the ball. Charlene looks like a cartoon character, she is so fake that is just funny. Her behavior is so unnatural and there is no any kind of interaction between her and Albert, the normal interaction I mean, that is between couples even if their relation is not great. She looks like she was hired to play a role of wife-she played it badly. BTW her dress was awful. Pure trash. The top of this dress looked like a corset, so vulgar. Showing off her huge shoulders again. She has the same awful hairdo she had last year at some event, it makes her looking like a plastic doll that she is. I liked Steph's gown, very feminine and youthful, it's the best dress she's worn so far, IMO. Caro's dress was weird but I liked it, but only she could pull it.

Hibou, the designer of Caroline´s dress is Duro Olowu, a Nigerian based in London. Caroline has worn Olowu in other occasions. Michelle Obama has also worn Olowu. That said, I 100% agree with you: Caroline, Michelle and other celebrities are promoting an African designer, while Charlene...

Seeing the photos and videos and reading the articles in this thread made me think more of a wake than a ball. A wake marking the end of Monaco as an international destination and its return to just another community that happens to be on the French Riviera. Charlene is not much of a flagship. When she and Albert walked in, their entourage was pathetic; hip-hop rappers can do much better. Only Caroline, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Melanie, Gareth, and bimbo. In years past there has been a sprinkling of royals, business men/women and celebrities that are successful at some industry or craft. Now four blood relatives of Albert and two leeches that Charlene drags around. Gareth is a total embarrassment to Albert as anyone can see that he is there to take handouts, just a grifter. Poor Stephanie smiled some, but really gave the impression that she would rather be anywhere but where she was. Who knows exactly why Caroline showed up; I had figured she would pass as she has in year's past. Maybe she felt that since she is next in line, she should perform her duty and show up. It was telling that none of her adult children were there and also none of their young friends. The age of the attendees did have more of a feel of a senior citizens condo dance in Florida than an international ball that used to be the social event of the season for southern France. Certainly doesn't exude an atmosphere that would attract visitors to the principality. Charlene clearly did not have any input in the organization of the ball (why would I think that she would do anything productive?) or she is an idiot. Who would purposely choose a dress that looks like extra material from the tablecloths? And that hairstyle! Who tells her that it looks good? To me, her hair looks like it hasn't been washed in days. It makes her look old. And too much makeup. I'm having a hard time believing that Albert cannot see this woman as she truly is unless he is into transvestites. Also, memo to Charlene: at balls when you are married to the Prince, it is assumed that the two of you will dance together, alone on the dance floor. Get some dance lessons! That standing on the dance floor looks stupid and is painful to watch. Are you allergic to any type of learning or lessons? It's sad that Rainier worked so hard to build up Monaco and just baffling that he left his legacy to be destroyed by Albert. I don't see how Albert can continue as Sovereign as he is a complete failure, but he will refuse to leave for any reason and with Charlene by his side, it will be even harder to get him to see reality. Sadly, I will probably continue to watch this as it is like a train wreck, airplane crash, and building implosion combined. Who could think that someone given so much could make such a total disaster of everything? Sorry for the long post, but seeing the photos just struck me as the end of an era.

true, the end of an era... ----- The newspapers no longer know what to write... From Nice Matin: 'la mariée était en rose' Fuschia? Rose? Salmon? Parma?... Purple? What colour exactly was the dress of Princess Charlène (pronounce: Tcheur-Line)? The issue divided throughout the evening … … the gala was this year particular importance for the gazettes. It was, in fact, the first great social appointment of the prince and the new Princess since their marriage and their wedding trip, disturbed by what is now called "the rumor". A subject very touchy, as told in the Principality (understand: "sensitive"), but which appears to be the delight of everyone, not just people's press. Apart, perhaps, by the prince, is probably not a table at which the issue was not discussed during the dinner.... Having carefully recorded in the Moleskine notebooks, in addition to the contested color of the dress, 1 / that the couple had appeared surrounded by the two sisters of the prince, Stéphanie and Caroline ("rarely met at the Red Cross gala") and 2 / the princely table sitting Gildo Pastor ("which is in cold with the family"), the IEO, strategically positioned by the Palace press service, to the table the furthest from the princely family, risked torticollis during any dinner, in an attempt to surprise an attitude of the two novis to accredit the thesis of a "sustainable fâcherie" or, on the contrary, that of a "glowing happiness." Sentence lost obviously. Nevertheless, it was not until the end of the dinner at the opening of the ball (on adequate air isn't it romantic) a stealth Kiss (on the cheek) that will not fail to be analyzed and commented on for weeks, as were the previous ones….www.nicematin.com/article/cote-dazur/gala-de-la-croix-rouge-a-monaco-la-mariee-etait-en-rose

I'm with you on this. I don't think she has the nerve to go through this for a long time. This is only the beginning. She is only used to positive press and she enjoyed that. But like Albert she can not take criticism. And they will continue to be criticized. The palace PR thought they were smart by putting the gossip columnists as far away as possible from them. And in the MC article they even wrote that they seemed to be mocking them (I suppose they mean by not giving them what they were waiting for, but it is not clear). That was anything but a smart move. If you do not have anything to hide, if everything is ok, you put them as close as possible so they can scrutinize every gesture and dissect it and see for themselves. Instead they put them at the far end of the ballroom, exclude them from the raffle. I don't think they are in a position to anger the press. But apparently Mme Stahl thinks they should pay them back....How childish and how unprofessional

In their feeble minds, everyone is just envious of them (although they used the incorrect term jealous). It's a famous German travesty artist. He is known under the name Mary and used to be part of a double called Mary and Gordy. Now he performs on his own. In some of the pics of trashy, she really looks a lot like him. Especially in the close up which is supposed to have her look like Grace but actually she looks like a man pretending to be Grace. Those massive false eyelashes are really underlining the effect. Grace never had to do anything like that. Not mentioning to plaster her hair on the head the way trashy does. She might as well have worn a wig.

A wake, that was the word I was looking for. But certainly not the Irish kind of wake. In any case if you look at the faces of the people attending, they do not look like they got enjoyment for an evening and their moneys worth. 1000 EUros, drinks not included. What a rip off. And then you get milk rice for desert...I hope it wasn't the one from the supermarket...

I thought it was actually quite funny. Especially that they seem to feel the need to tell the Monegasques how to pronounce the name of their princess. The other article in NIce matin seems to be blocked for some reason. I have tried to open it since yesterday, but I keep getting a technical issue message. I suspect that either there is sth in there the palace doesn't want us to read or they are waiting and reading the forums, before actually writing it, so they know which PR angle they need to take.

Wow, thanks Mrs. Z.! For a local paper, this really is a scathing article. Never has any paper written anything about like this about any of their balls. I was commenting about the lack of press online about the ball, I guess others felt that it was better to say nothing than anything negative. I cannot believe that they are going to war with the press! The is a huge mistake to go to war with the press who actually has lied with all their praise they heaped on them over the years. Actually, if the press was really honest about Charlene, Albert would have NEVER married her and thus the biggest mistake of his reign. Paca, you are correct about Charlene and negative press. This woman really believes that the press is only there to praise her it hasn't ever crossed her feeble mind that the press could one day turn on her. The second most often song she sang on the message board was show much the press LOVED her! Of course, her first song was how Albert should marry her because she has no baggage and will be so good for Monaco. How's that working out for ya Charls?

Only three photos were officially released by SBM’s press office – who releases all he official photos of all the Balls when they are held at their venues. These three photos did not include a Caroline or Stephanie – they mainly focused on Charlene, Gareth and his girlfriend. Albert was lucky he got in there. Clearly, like last year’s ball, the palace is trying to make Albert and Charlene the main, actually the only, focus of Monaco. Big mistake! This reminds me of Charlene’s many posts on these message boards telling Caroline and her children to go away and let Charlene have ALL the limelight. This is how Charlene’s narcissistic pea-sized mind thinks. The only thing this woman cares about is seeing herself splashed across magazines and the TV and being the focus of attention. The only thing! Everyone is asking where are the A-listers who used to come to the ball? Trust me, Charlene is the type of person who does not want any A-listers to come to the ball who might become the focus of the media attention at the ball than her. These balls for Charlene are not an opportunity for Monaco to attract people and receive attention – but for Charlene to receive attention and show off her expensive clothing and jewelry. Expect more and more expensive jewelry at each ball so that she can run to message boards to see her collections in threads. A shallow “fame-whore” is who this woman is and Monaco will find this out the hard way. I already posted these High Definition photos, but here are the only photos of the princely table that was officially released. Think about this, they released photos of Gareth and his girlfriend at the princely table, but none of Princes Caroline and Princess Stephanie. What in the hell is up with that! 1. Gareth Wittstock and his girlfriend Roisin Galvin2. Albert, Charlene, Gareth Wittstock and his girlfriend Roisin Galvin3. Charlene and Aleco Keusseoglou

Charlene and Aleco Keusseoglou so she will be queen of the prom, but I don't remember any press reporting on those. No A listers no press. simple. No A listers, no tourists to come and gawk. MC will be forgotten in no time. They've been there and they are practically there. Keusseoglou, didn't he sponsor their 3rd honeymoon in Greece? Look what he got. He moved up a notch in MC society and got to sit at the first table. He wouldn't have gotten there otherwise and he never sat there before. Interesting though is that while rainier was still there, he had a table and so did Caro. Their tables were used to honour certain guests and who sat at which table was published in MC matin. Same goes for the table of the Minister of state etc. Nowadays anyone willing to pay the bill can get in. I doubt that the names of the guests are even known.
