LOL here is the interview with Ducasse too funny: L’important est que ce dîner soit en harmonie avec ce que le souverain et sa future épouse véhiculent comme message : l’harmonie, la simplicité, la justesse, la modestie, dans le sens où il faut être précautionneux des ressources rares de cette planète. Harmony, simplicite, justice, modesty is the message the couple wants to transport with their dinner, because that's what resembles them....Hello?a wedding for 40 Million Euros, 200 cars to chauffeur the guests instead of 2 ecofriendly buses? sorry but I think they have all gone nutters. Btw they are only having the second best chef to cook their dinner Guess Joel Robuchon declined Then again he does not need the publicity as much as Ducasse... www.monacomatin.mc/article/cote-dazur/ducasse-un-diner-en-harmonie-avec-le-couple-princier

Other than that, the names of the chefs involved were not released until after the wedding.

I think in Spain the chef was known, but it was to be expected that they would get the most famous and en vogue chef at the time to do the dinner. I am not sure but I think the chef from Kate and Will was Swiss. And he was picked because Will has been eating in his restaurant since he was a little boy. So again very intimate and personal in some way.DUcasse is cooking the meal because he has a name. He is rarely in Monaco. Monegasques and many others were furious when he received citizenship from Albert.

I got the impression that Ducasse was past his prime in terms of his restaurants receiving their important star ratings. Didn't the one he has in Monaco lose a star a couple years ago?

he is still doing ok, but Joel Robuchon is now in Monaco and another major chef has moved here so he has competition. Besides his restaurant is part of SBM, Robuchon I believe is not and neither the new one in Grimaldi forum. In any case Robuchon is Bocuse and Witzigmann level. He is top of the top. Ducasse is playing 2nd league....like AS Monaco

Robuchon has 26 in his name en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jo%C3%ABl_Robuchonthere are only 4 chefs of the century and he is one of them. No other chef in the world has as many points as him....there was sth earlier in the paper about him possibly cooking the dinner. Albert always pushed Ducasse for some reason. And of course Ducasse paid him some money for the citizenship.....didn't go down well around here.

Good lawd, there really is no end to these two trashy people's narcissism for their expensive made-for-tv wedding! The carpet is being made by the local Monaco carpet company, but instead of telling people just how expensive it is to have 500 people work on a 200 meter wool and silk embroidered carpet just for the trashy narcissist can rub how new position into everyone noses, they are letting everyone know that they will CUT IT UP after the wedding and auction off each piece for Trashy Blob environment foundation and trashy flat ass future Princes Charlene foundation. Can someone please tell King Louis and Marie Antoinette that this is worse!
Once Upon a Time there was a Carpet Destined for a Prince … in Monaco3 June 2011 From VisitMonaco
This could be the beginning of the story of the red carpet that Albert II of Monaco and Miss Charlene Wittstock, future Princess of Monaco, will walk across on 2 July 2011. The legend began, in fact, in the seventies, when Alexander Moghadam was invited by Princess Grace to open the first Persian carpet shop in Monaco. He became the official supplier to the Palace and transmitted his love of carpets to his children, especially his eldest son Kamyar. After a career in fashion, Kamyar decided to mix his experience of fashion with his knowledge of carpets, and created FASHION FOR FLOORS. Dressing the floor as we would dress ourselves was a completely new concept. When the happy event of the royal wedding was announced, it became clear to him that the floor should be dressed with a carpet worthy of the people who would walk on it - a Princely couple!
The carpet is 200 metres long and more than two metres wide, and is crafted from pure New Zealand wool and red silk. The edges will be embellished with lace and embroidery in white silk. Over 500 people will have participated in creating this work of art. A work of art that will be installed with great care, since almost two tons of red carpet will be unrolled in the Palace Courtyard and the Courtyard of Honour, where the Princely wedding will be celebrated.
The carpet is unique because of its beauty and finesse, and because of its links to the Principality. Made by an entirely Monegasque company, it will sport the colours of Monaco - red and white.
A carpet, then, with Princely origins and a Princely purpose, whose destiny will be equally legendary. After the wedding, it will be cut into pieces, which will be signed and numbered by the future Princely bride and groom. Each of the pieces will then be auctioned. The money raised will then be divided between the Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the foundation of the future Princess.
"Once upon a time there was a carpet that brought good luck .... " This could be the beginning of yet another story …

This sounds like the bidding for the TV rights. Wonder if anyone will buy pieces of it (except for the sugar boarders)

You have got to be kidding! Just when I think they cannot be dumber, more self-centered, clueless, out-of-touch, and downright moronic, they go ahead and prove me wrong... every time... ugh!

Hi everybody, I was forbidden to move my arms for one week due to a bacterial infection. I noticed one thing during that time, no one seems to know or seems to be interested in this Monaco event. The hype takes place in the internet or in gossip magazins. Maybe in MC or France. That is all. So I guess they have to sell the pieces of the red carpet to get at least some money for the Charlene Foundation. Where else should it come from? Certainly not from the Wittstocks.

so trashy get's her own account for people who want sth off her to pay in. What happened to the German company that claims to do the carpet? How much carpet do they need? Monaco isn't that big. Besides do they honestly think that anyone wants to buy a shred of their carpet? It's not the Berlin wall and it is not an event of historic magnitude. I'm sorry, but these guys have lost all sense of reality and belong into the loony bin. There must be some psychological term for their joint condition...

At least not in the part where I am moving around and if a spit away, no one cares, I doubt that Paris will be interested. this is an event that happens only in point de vue, a few tabloids and some TV idiots that seem to have money to waste. Can't wait for any German TV microphone appearing in front of my face. I'm moving so I don't have to worry about any disadvantage...

I knew it there is a psychological term for it and it is even in French: Folie a deux. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folie_%C3%A0_deux I guess we can say now that they share something. They are both delusional and mentally ill. If we are lucky this could be used to get rid of them.

Most people would consider such a carpet to be a work of art, created by craftsmen, and, to last forever. These two self-absorbed a--holes are willing to cut up this work of art and sell it off? Could this story get any worse?
