Oh boy!! These are serious sad news! Imagine Carla Bruni "redecorating" Versailles. Because it hasn't been "touch" in years! MY!!!!
Is there a way that the people of Monaco, the ones who pay the life-style of the Grimaldi's stop this assault???
Imagine Letizia "redecorating" the Palace when the Queen dies because it's "old" ??
I told you, Charlene was NOT going to leave this guy .... NEVER!

I told you, Charlene was NOT going to leave this guy .... NEVER! Actually I can see Carla Bruni lending her name to historic restoration which I think she has done. If Charlene were smart, she would have clarified her statements to say it is only the family quarters. Well, start to look for Grace memorabilia for sale as she guts the place.

This is a total car wreck ... we can't help but look! Sadly, Charlene thinks we look because we admire .... while we all know that we look because we mock such poor behavior.
The only thing royal about this couple is that they are royal jack asses!

“This place needs a woman’s touch,” she sighs. “You can tell that a woman hasn’t lived here for a while. I want to make some big changes to the interiors to modernize things and liven it up.” [/blockquote]
Well now let's see - it was in 2007 that she said to a couple of us (women) that she was now going to concentrate on LEARNING how to be a woman. (At 29 years of age!) So that was 4 years ago. Since then she has done her best to make herself over to look more like (what she thinks) a woman should look like and has FAILED miserably (imo). She really does look like a tranny. Really. It's sad, but true. So, from where I sit - with her ability to add the much needed "woman's touch" to the palace - it's going to look like a cross between a zoo and a circus. A TRANNY ZOO/CIRCUS!!! ;D OMG! That is exactly what it is going to look like!

Good lord, we are in to a home story showing it all off once it is done. And of course there will be the African hint every where. It will all look nouveau riche and tacky. I suspect she thought she can do what Mary did. I hope she is limited to the private quarters only. I bet there will be lots of gold and extremely expensive materials involved. I will bet you anything that Charlene has already chosen or is every iota stage of the redecoration. This redecoration means NOTHING to Charlene if it cannot be filmed or photographed for everyone to look and drool over - and of course sing her praises. She's probably already commissioning special outfits just for the photos and of course for the big reveal. This is beginning to remind me of that documentary film Madonna did with Warren Beatty - whatever it was called - where he said to her in one scene - Does everything you do need to be filmed? (or something close to that.) And she said, "Yes." Anyone remember that? It basically left us knowing that unless she was being filmed there was no point in living.

Paca and I shared a private e-mail where we both couldn't understand why Grace never started a National Theater Company or something like it. That would have been a natural for her. It's very strange she didn't.
Paca said perhaps Grace was really more of a "me" person than we realized. I've been thinking about that and I think perhaps she's onto something ... something very important that may give us some answers. I've been in and around "show business" - theater and film - my whole adult life - and I've certainly met, and have known many, many "stars" - very well - and I have to say in all honesty that for the most part, the vast majority of these people are extremely self centered and self serving. (I'm not trying to be mean here. It's true.) Creative and Sandsla are in the entertainment business I believe and I bet they will concur with me on this. It's almost impossible to become a "STAR" and remain a "STAR" unless one is very self absorbed. Some of these people are truly unbelievable in their attitudes - and it is a large part why they became so successful in "show business". Madonna is a great example.
We tend to judge Grace by her fabulous looks, and glamorous films roles. She played a very elegant woman. And this is not to say she didn't have these qualities. But, she was a MOVIE STAR. She was catered to and pampered. She was the "center" of a great deal of attention for quite awhile before she married Rainier. And, her life was about "HER". I had a couple of friends, one in particular, now passed, who knew Grace very, very well - and as I remember some of the great stories he told about her I can easily see that she was very much a "me" kind of person.
So, why would her getting married to someone like Rainier - a Prince - change her. If anything that was what some of their early friction was about. They both were "me" people. But because it was HIS Country and he was the BOSS - she had to bend more to his way of doing things. But, her being Princess was all about HER BEING PRINCESS. And all the PR she generated - which came from her days at MGM was her doing - and she did parade her children around for the press - all in an attempt to make sure HER investment, HER LIFE, HER STARDOM would not be squandered.
Now if she were to start and build a National Theater Company - because she was THE PRINCESS - she could serve on the board, etc, but she would NEVER have been able or allowed to actually PERFORM as an actress in the Company. Rainier would never have allowed that. Plus it would have taken away much of the mystique she created around her being a Princess. So, from Grace's point of view, WHY start a Theater Company she would never be able to work/act/star in. If anything, having something like that right under her nose and not being able to participate as a STAR, would just about kill her.
But, notice, when she was older - really too old to be a STAR any longer - she jumped at the chance to perform on stage reading poetry - where she would be the SOLE attention getter. But she still didn't do anything to start an actual Theater Company because she still would not be able to be the STAR.
So - maybe she was really much more of a "ME" person than any of us or even anyone whose done a bio of her ever realized. And, if that's the case - that could explain A LOT of what's wrong with her three kids!
As a mother, and I'm sure any one of you guys who are mothers will agree - it really has to be all about the kids. Kids really don't like it when MOM isn't at their beck and call 24/7. It's a very sticky and slippery slope a mother has to navigate so she can be a good mother AND still have a life of her own! It really is tough - unless you're a woman who lives totally for her kids. And some women do. Then it's really tough on them when the kids are grown and leave.
I have a friend, she's 86, widowed. Her oldest son (62!) gives her a very hard time. He says she loved his father more than him and he resented it and resents it still. He says it ruined his life. She was a lousy mother! She did adore her husband - this mans father! How sick it that! This guy is very successful - and he is soooo stingy and mean to his mother BECAUSE she loved his father! It's so sick. Anyway, the point is - when you have kids, and you're the mother, you never know what or how what you do it is going to effect your children. You're sort of damned if you do, and damned if you don't. It's a lot like pot luck.
Well, I'm going on and on! What do you guys think about Grace being more of a "ME" person than perhaps any of us ever thought? (Certainly Charlene seems to be a ME person. Maybe this is Albert's emotional comfort zone!)

I don't think you can blame Grace for her three children behaviour... You can then also blame Grace that PlasticFace wants to create an African Palace in Monaco. If they would have a little sense they take Axel Vervoordt he does all the other royals palaces ... and at least it would be adapted to the culture of Monaco. But he is very expensive...

Grace may not have started a National Theatre but I believe she was responsible for the establishment of the Monte Carlo Ballet.

I am not really astonished about them hiring that SA decorator to redo the Palace. From what I have seen so far he seems to be famous for decorating Hotels. Well, since our lovebirds a mostly away from MC - I guess they stay in Hotels most of the time - they want the same hotel atmoshphere in their home.

I with you Mrs. Z.! This South African designer redecoration is ALL about Monaco's #1 Con artists wanted to create her South African palace - to place HER mark on Monaco. In the pre-engagement days, Charlene boasted and taunted on these message boards how she was NEVER EVER leaving Monaco. This re-decoration is just one of many more to come permanent ways (so she thinks) of Charlene to leave her mark on Monaco. During Charlene's boasting and taunting times on these message boards, I stated then and it is even more evident now that Charlene is like a male alley cat who goes around pissing on everything to mark his territory. This is exactly what Charlene is doing - pissing on Monaco to show all those who thought that shoe would NEVER be princess that she won! Albert took a stray crass alley cat inside and cleaned her up to pass her off as some prized cat. But, if any of you have ever tried to domesticate an alley cat who always lived in the alley - you cannot! They take their alley behavior with them. Monaco meet your alley cat that your princes imposed on you to piss all over you - including himself. But hey, I read on Eringer's blog that Albert's cousin stated that he likes "golden showers."

I have read several biographies on Grace (good and bad) including the one written by one of her bridesmaids. As for Grace being self-centered, I think it was more in her early years and Hollywood years about her insecurities that drove her ambition. In once sense that does maker her self-centered which most ambitious people are to a certain extend. It's how they get where they get whether it's show business or any business. If you look at the CEO types they are all about themselves and their success. Does anyone remember the bumper stickers that read " the one with the most toys wins". That's the mentality and it certainly fits Charlene. Many who knew Grace knew she was always trying to prove to her Father that she was worthy. Marrying Rainier gave her a title which was a social status to her parents. Grace also knew that as she aged the roles for someone like her would dry up, so she figured she'd have a role for life and make her parents happy.
As for parenting, there is no instruction manual. While your life is no longer your own, by no means should you jump when your kids say jump and be readily available at all times 24/7 unless they are sick. If you do that as a parent your child will not learn to do things for themselves and will wait to be waited on. If the child is a royal, they are used to adults waiting on them, every wish is there command. Soon they learn to expect it, and if not handled correctly become self-absorbed little snots. This is why the British insist on several years of military training. While Albert did "a couple"years in the French Navy, he was not necessarily put through the hard way ( I could be wrong but I got the impression he didn't come up by his bootstraps like William and Harry). We can only blame parents for so much. After a certain age, it's the kid's own fault. Life is about the choices we make, good, bad or indifferent and how we handle our successes or failures. The Grimaldi kids and the trio live life in a bubble of wealth. Let's face it, most of us have to work for a living. Does any one wonder what all these people do with their time? Caroline and Stephanie do commit time to several charities and parenting, but what on earth did Albert do all those years but run around with no responsibilities. It would have been a good thing if Rainier had tied him down to Monaco with duties other than ceremonial but that was what Albert learned and nothing more. Eventually it was up to Albert to learn what he needed to do and he failed to do so. In some form or another as parents we can inspire our kids and order our kids to do things only up to a certain age. After that, they are on their own. My daughter is going off to college where I try to impress on her that this is her time to figure what she wants to do with the rest of her life. There will be no Mom and Dad around. It's her success or her failure, and more importantly, she is aware of the consequences if she screws up. As parents we try our best and hope for the best, but every once in a while, a good well meaning parent could, despite their efforts, end up with a kid like Albert. It's his own fault. JMO

I think what really is appalling is how she said it hadn't been done in a long time and needed a FEMININE TOUCH. I'm willing to bet Rainier did absolutely nothing to the place. I bet it was left exactly as Grace had left it "it hadn't been done in a long time". She has now insulted Grace by saying it needed something feminine. What an ass. JMO coming from a transvestite ;D LOOOOL the most unfeminine woman challenging the epitome of elegance and femininity... Yes! Who the heck is she to be talking about femininity? Her clothes, as expensive as they may be, look awful on her! Her face is so plastic-looking and totally expressionless. She knows nothing about art or history-- totally uneducated. I have a feeling that palace is gonna look like a jungle safari with lots of animal prints and ivory... Uggghhh.. totally trashy! BTW, when the hell is she gonna learn to speak the language? All this time and effort into redecorating the palace (and herself). Does she not realize that she is Monégasque now?? How about learning about the history and culture of your new county and using that to redesign and define your new life? What an idiot!!

She did not learn it before when she could even have used it as trump card to get the title, the ring and the tiara/necklace. Why would she learn now that she has already got it all? Plus portrait, redecoration, 'benefits' for her family...

It takes someone narcissistic and blind to the world to not see how bad this is... The clothes, the portrait commission, the jewels, now the redecoration of the palace (we don't even know which parts, but still).. All piled on top of the wedding costs. With the financial situation in most of the world at this point, the effects are magnified. Monaco is not doing so well financially at this point. How long until someone calls Charlene et al out on spending? The speed at which she is spending all of this money would be comical if it weren't so reckless.. Maybe there is enough money in the family's accounts to handle the costs, but you just don't do this at times like these! Restraint must not exist in Charlene's vocabulary...
