I guess that's what got her this far. These people are so removed from the real world and what normal people do, that they don't even get how lazy she is. They probably think that the fact that she get's out of bed is an achievement, because she doesn't have to. she has people at her call and beck all the time. There is practically nothing she needs to do or actually does. She is filling her days with reading about herself, getting dressed, getting undressed and wondering how to dress. Any person with half a brain would be bored in less then a week. SHe reminds me of one character in the imprtance of being earnest, that carries her own diary around, to always have sth worthwhile to read at hand...trashy probably wouldn't even get the joke... Thanks for making me laugh. Yes, nothing like a little Oscar Wild especially the "Importance of being Ernest".

Goes to show that people like them were already a laughing stock in the olden days. Then again Juvenal complained about the likes of trashy and her appendix a few thousand years back. It seems to be one of humanities faults to continously produce the likes of them and those who worship them. I wonder if it worked for cave people too...then again it must have seeing that trashy and her lot are direct descendants

Then again Juvenal complained about the likes of trashy and her appendix a few thousand years back. It seems to be one of humanities faults to continously produce the likes of them and those who worship them. I wonder if it worked for cave people too...then again it must have seeing that trashy and her lot are direct descendants Charlene had ample people in in the palace that were willing or forced to (paid employees) to help her. Charlene's problem is that she spent all her time reading the shallow praises from sugar loonies and her family who told her she was already the most perfect creature and anyone who didn't think so were just jealous of her. Her flunkie friends in the pres didn't help the situation either with their shallow praises of her. So, this woman really truly believes that she is the cat's meow and has gotten rid of anyone who dared to think she need help in becoming refined and elegant. Charlene and Albert are truly laughing stocks with more and more people of class and substance avoiding them except for superficial occasions. You would have thought that these two idiots would have realized this after their fiasco Oscar trip, but they didn't. Instead, they have their few friends in the flunkie press to write some lies how they were a sensation in Hollywood and they just double up and continue doing more of the same.

Thank you Duchess1 . I was pretty sure it was you that had mentioned this, but I couldn't find it again? So thanks for posting again. I also liked what you had to say about Charlene and Grace, and that you also recapped a little here about your feeling of sadness of a woman like Charlene replacing the memory of someone like Grace, instead of building on the memory of Grace, which no doubt was Albert's plan, he has instead allowed Charlene to actually kill it and all Grace did for Monaco...that is what a woman in Grace's era and position could get away with then. At least before Charlene reared her ugly head (her person if you could call her that) Monaco at still had the memory of Grace, but now Albert has let and helped Charlene obliterate it....everything Grace's stood for, and that most people might find worthy of the title. Duchess1, I know these were not your exact words, rather they are mine, but I think that is the idea's that you and many women around the globe here seem to share, and it's what bothers so many of us, so the fact that you are not one of the usual posters here that are not referred to or so often dismissed las just a jealous poster. I hope it is not lost to those that read here, that you are someone that actually bought a ticket and attended and observed firsthand this event with an unbiased opinion of Charlene with a true realistic opinion of Charlene that also observed her popularity. Let me ask you do any of her appearance and photo ops, or magazine interviews do anything to change your impression of Charlene, and if they do, in what way? Albert and those that support Charlene, don't get the idea that Charlene is not the kind of person that any "normal" person with a conscience or a drop of integrity would like to see a woman like Charlene supported, rewarded, or even worse, celebrated. The idea of trying to elevate someone like her to have any kind of status (her main objective-self glory), it is not only a joke but a big insult to people, and not just women. If Albert and his staff want to continue to believe this is what jealousy is...I guess he can continue to try to sell her to "the bog people" ;)because of course they have so much use for a person with Charlene's qualities and contributions in the world. Even that Reindeer was laughing and rolling his eyes (picture 3) "Does she really expect me to fly" ;D Firstly, thanks to exelle, hibou, lavetta, and sandsla. Glad you all enjoyed the little eyewitness account I wrote of the exhibition. sandsla, you ask me a great question whether or not any of Charlene's appearances, photo ops , or magazine interviews , change my impression of her? My answer is simply that nothing has changed for me because she has allowed herself to become a manufactured tortured soul for fame, wealth, and in the process allowed herself prior to marrying Albert, to be a kept woman for atleast 5 years. I never liked her then and I don't like her now. Why ? I have no respect for her as a woman. She continues to look " lost " to me and is in way over her head, but she was after the easy life, and the easy money, and did whatever it took to get there. IMO As Princess Charlene, she has absolutely no personality or charisma. She does not have the special quality of grace kelly, or Diana. She does not light up a room, only helps to drown any positive energy around it. Her image is as chisselled as her face. She is not true to herself so how can she radiate confidence and happiness to others. The charlene we saw in photos 5 or 6 years ago is not the same charlene today. She is a pretender as far a I am concerned and not genuine. She comes across in interviews as someone who has a huge sense of entitlement. In Australia, the media did not go crazy over her and I would go as far as to say she was a failure. Magazines did not clamour for interviews, other than the short interview she did with the Today Show on channel 9. I am pretty sure if that was " kate " or the late " Diana" visiting Bendigo we would not be seeing school kids hired for the day waving the aussie flags, and hired busses of people. We would see people travelling from most parts of Victoria to see them. I think she is the least well known among the current crop of Princesses on a global scale and quite frankly Albert has married for the wrong reasons, and unfortunately with a wife who really doesn't register anywhere, I think Monaco will suffer as she will not attract tourists, and the fairy tale which they tried to sell us all has long been upstaged by the runaway bride story for ever........

This is phenomenal post! Thank you Duchess1. You have summoned WC and her character so well. Also, you have explained why most of us don't like her and what she represents in just a few words so perfectly. I wanted to highlight the key parts of your post (ones that I agree with you), but then I realized that I will be highlighting all of it.

Catching up with some of the things I never posted. Here's an interview that Charlene supposedly did while she was in Australia. The interview was published 1 May 2012 in the Qantas.
Q&A: Charlene, Princess of Monaco Before marrying Prince Albert ll of Monaco in July last year, Charlene, Princess of Monaco, was an Olympic swimmer, competing at the Sydney 2000 Games in the 4x100m medley relay. The Princess was in Australia recently as guest of honour at the opening of Grace Kelly: Style Icon at the Bendigo Art Gallery, which runs until June 17.
Interviewer: You spent a great deal of your childhood and adolescence in South Africa. What do you regard as the gems of South Africa? Charlene: I would say both land and people. South Africa is so full of energy, history and opportunities – to a large extent, just like Australia is.
Which parts of the world did your career as an elite swimmer take you to? Oh, almost everywhere! From Sydney to Melbourne to Paris, to London, Berlin, Monaco.
What are your keenest memories of competing in Sydney at the 2000 Olympic Games? The Olympic energy itself. I felt that we were all one family beyond boundaries, languages or economic status. Australia succeeded in creating that unique feel. It was magic.
What events are you most looking forward to watching at the 2012 Olympics? Obviously swimming, athletics and a few other events.
What is your fitness regime these days? Do you still swim? I swim, I [go to the] gym and walk. Monaco is very conducive to that. It is like a huge open-air fitness club with beautiful parks, the Mediterranean sea to swim in and fantastic scenery to discover while walking or running.
You met your husband at a swimming competition. How does Prince Albert rate as a swimmer? He is good, but cannot beat me! Of course, he is in excellent shape and remains an avid sportsperson. He practises soccer, beach volleyball and other sports.
As a frequent flyer, what are your carry-on essentials? Water on long journeys.
Best city in the world for shopping, art, inspiration? Paris and New York for shopping, Rome for art and architecture, Durban for inspiration and Sydney for fun.
Last December, you were awarded a Golden Heart Award from the A Heart for Children Organisation for teaching poor or disabled children to swim. Now you are setting up the Princess Charlene Foundation. Can you elaborate on what it is and why it is close to your heart? While teaching disadvantaged children to swim, I saw that not only did they gain a life-saving skill, but they also persevered and challenged their own abilities to go further in a variety of fields. Sport is true empowerment. Children’s wellbeing is at the core of my projects.
What are the secrets of Monaco the brochures don’t tell us? Not all of Monaco is incredibly expensive and inaccessible. You would be surprised how affordable Monte Carlo is.

LOL what huge parks in MC is she talking about? ? Is she aware of how small the place is??? She takes water along? don't they serve that on planes? Aren't you asked to empty your bottles for security reasons? Lol yes MC is very affordeable to those who have access to their fatidiot husbands wealth....
