Stelios wins award, proposes charity initiative Tuesday, 15 November 2011 9:00 Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou was honoured by the Monaco Ambassadors Club last night receiving, the Goodwill Ambassador of Monaco Award for 2011 at a cocktail function at the Salle Belle Epoque at the Hermitage Hotel. The Monaco Ambassadors Club serves to promote the image of Monaco abroad. Already a noteworthy ambassador for Monaco, Stelios, in an amusing address, pointed to a number of reasons why he thought Monaco a desirable place in which to live including: security, lifestyle, cosmopolitan population, weather and tax benefits, where revenue from the Principality comes largely from VAT and property taxes. Noting that we are all lucky to be living in Monaco, he said he thought it our duty to give back to society…. In one project, in his native Cyprus, his Foundation has been working for many years to promote goodwill among its inhabitants. Every year, it gives five awards of €50,000 to each of one Turkish Cypriot and one Greek Cypriot who do business with each other, an example of the unbridled comeraderie upon which he has built his businesses. It is with his philanthropic activities that Stelios was particularly preoccupied this evening, proposing that Monaco develop its conference activities by becoming the new focal point for International Philanthropic Conferences. A fine idea and one which could be able added to the existing conference activities for which Monaco has now become so well known. Let’s hope that this initiative, proposed by Stelios, will be infused with the same energy and charisma carried by his more than generous personality. If so, it should be a resounding success indeed. LOL if he would want to give to society, all he has to do is pay his taxes in Greece. he has been accused in Italy of corruption, carelessness and other things. I wonder how much the judge received who let him go. Makes you also wonder who selected him to be knighted I am sure with his help Monaco can continue to shine as the tax haven it is in the world.

The Huffington Post has an article on Albert and Charlene for the "No Finish line" Race. Does the article talk about the charity? Nope! They talk about the fact that Albert wore tights and Charlene wore pants. The article is pretty funny but the photos are priceless.

Another Russian oligarch for the soccer team: Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev wants to invest 200 million euros in AS Monaco. Rybolovlev, who used to be the owner of Russia’s biggest potash fertilizer company, Uralkaly, currently lives in Monaco. Doesn't fertilizer mean toxic for the environment?

www.elmundo.es/elmundo/2011/11/25/paisvasco/1322222703.htmlVideo from Albert in Spain. They give a baby t-shirt… It shows how little respect they have for Albert II. Maybe they thought with the portrait of Albert I - and Albert II (the loser) - perhaps Albert III makes back the difference. Typical for Charlie to spread rumors… In order to put pressure on Albert.

This is clear that the trashy was his shadow and only creating a cult around herself and not respecting his family inheritance for one second.

The week before National Day, Albert attended several events - unlike the Con artist Princess of Monaco. Here's another: Albert attended an exhibition where Hublot watches and Zegg & Cerlatez jewelers were partners of the event. The exhibit ran from Nov 9 - 11th.

I haven't paid too much attention, but that has to be one of the most forced smiles ever. I guess he is so desperate to have his own family... Oh, wait a minute. He has. He has his own family all over the world.

CELEBRATION for the third time, the Honorary Consulate of Lebanon in Monaco organized a big party to celebrate the independence of Lebanon. These are found for this Celebi's most prominent personalities of the principality and the Riviera, but this year the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco was a turning point in the friendship between the two country.
The venue is among the oldest and most prestigious. The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, created by "the prince learned", the great-grandfather Prince Albert II, is a temple dedicated to the science of the seas and oceans. Knowing the personal commitment of the reigning monarch in preserving the environment, it is clear that the evening of the Lebanese national holiday could take place anywhere else. Under the gilded ceilings of the reception hall of the museum, a screen broadcasts a slideshow of the country of cedar from the air, over the four seasons. Multiple landscapes and height of view ...
It is 18:30. The first guests begin to arrive, greeted by the Honorary Consul Mustafa Solh. Nominated for 15 years to the principality, the man continues to make efforts to mobilize resources and energies of the diaspora Riviera, to promote the interests of his country on the Rock of Monaco, and he naturally found in the heart of the device's first official visit of Prince Albert II in Lebanon in January. The photos that stay up also an honor guard from the museum entrance, showing symbolically the close links between the two states.
Atmosphere and no real ostentation. The rooms are filled slowly. All the Lebanese community of Monaco is present. Associations operating in the principality and the region combined the two cultures are there. The association "Friends of Lebanon in Monaco" is on the ground in the areas of health and education of children since 2002, in coordination with various NGOs, and its president, Mrs. Bouran Boueiri, was named "Ambassador of goodwill in Western Europe "by the United Nations there just two years.
The "Franco-Lebanese Club of Nice-Côte d'Azur", France's oldest, still active, is a strong 400 families, and its president, the surgeon Tony Hayek, punctuates the year of appointment humanitarian, cultural, tourist and festive. Finally, "Student Association Franco-Lebanese" provides assistance, such as dung of study, students in both Lebanon and deserving poor, and whose president, Jacques Stoumpff of Montchamp, has just published Smiling a life or memory of a man who, as he expresses himself, one day caught "the virus of Lebanon!"
19 hours, the applause burst forth from all sides: Prince Albert II enters, accompanied by Minister of State Michel Roger ... The Independence Day of Lebanon in a Catholic Monaco * can begin. It opens with the blessing of Father Fadi Jandah, vicar of the parish of Ste Devote (patron saint of Monaco) for two years. The anthem of Lebanon and the National Anthem succeed and respond as if to give more body to the theme of the evening: the relations between Lebanon and Monaco. They took a new turn since, at the invitation of President Michel Sleiman, the prince, accompanied by a delegation of business leaders conducted by the House Economic Development, visited the country of the Cedar ago just 10 months. "You never know what the contracts finalized in the private sector," said Michel Dotta, Chairman of the CRC, "but the index of satisfaction following the official visit is approaching 90%, which means that the meetings have been successful ... SBM (Society of sea bathing) has established contacts for project management and leadership over the Yacht Club of Beirut, partnership agreements were signed between Monaco Telecom and Future TV, MTV and LBCI, Bank Audi has installed and has been developing for the Principality ... . "
In his speech, Mustafa Solh highlight, beyond a language, a culture and a Mediterranean joint, the historic significance of the journey of Prince Albert II and the mutual obligations of both countries. A short film on the official visit of the sovereign will also support the words of the consul. But it is the independence of Lebanon, "work to strengthen every day," the focus is. "Celebrating independence is to be convinced that we must promote the role of the state and statesmen have determined, in a rapidly changing region, characterized by the legitimate aspirations of its people to recover their rights elementary, we realize the importance of universal values associated with the festival being celebrated. "
The Independence Day of Lebanon in Monaco ended late in the evening around mezze shared ... a new chapter of friendship between Lebanon and Monaco has written nice way. * Catholicism is the state religion in Monaco, but religious freedom is guaranteed by the Constitution.
