She's destroyed his reputation here and all over the world. They are acting like she's needing to be saved from a ogre. What kind of woman would take a man down for her own pleasure? A Gold digger.

One of her designer pals has talked her into going by convincing her she will be the best dressed bell of the ball. And that's all that matters to her. The designer is only thinking of himself and the free PR he'll get. He doesn't give a hoot about Monaco or CW. Probably Akris 'cause he's the least known and needs the PR. It will backfire. No one gives a damn about CW, who she is, or what she wears. If anything Joan Rivers will have a hay day dissing her appearance on the Carpet! Look at all the material CW & PA have provided for a comic like Joan or Kathy Griffiths! I don't care how good she maybe winds up looking - at this point it's too late - she'll get creamed - there's just too much great fodder for the comics at this point.

The PR counter-offensive has started with a blog called Styleite phoning up Huffington Post to cover the Oscar rumour. Huff Po, recently downgraded to trash by the AOL Warner buyout, even comes up with the journalistically disingenuous title that it would make THEIR day if Albert & WC attended. Who asked?! Those two have a dumbing down effect on everything.

What is the Oscar nomination of the couple? None. I know she and her PR people are reading our posts. I suggest to postpone their visit there!!!!!

I think I've heard or read that at this Oscars they will have a tribute to the "Old Hollywood era" (might be due to The Artist movie). It is possible that Grace will be mentioned during the tribute...and as we know Albert and WC have prostituting Grace's memory since the day Charlene stepped in Monaco. They use any mention of Grace to show up their pathetic and phony faces for the chance of having their picture taken. So sad...especially for Albert. Who would have thought that Albert would have fallen so low in order to be mentioned in the media. It is amazing to see that behind that unassuming exterior is hidden an egomaniac.

They're coming to The Oscars because Grace Kelly might get a two second mention during then entire show! Wow! If the theme is OLD Hollywood there are A LOT of STARS that will have to be covered. And if it's a nod to The Artist - well, that tells me they will no doubt start with the first SILENT films - and there were many, many films between that film era and Grace's era. So exactly how much time would they spend featuring Grace Kelly? These two, and their advisers are such idiots if that is one of the main reasons they are giving for going! How demeaning for PA to be doing this. They look like a couple of hangers-on. Groupies. It's probably been a fantasy of CW to walk down the Red Carpet at the Oscars all her life. She probably had a fantasy of being a movie star- for sure a model - and the poor thing just couldn't cut it on any front. This is her only shot and she's dragging Monaco and its moron Prince literally down that pathetic path with her. So very sad.

There is no good reason for these two to be even near the Oscars. What for? What the heck is their connection to the movie industry? Albert's mother being an actress long ,long, long time ago is certainly not a good reason for a quasi-head of state (and lousy Prince and his botox wife) to be there. It is all desperate attend to be mentioned in the US media. If any of them had an once of common sense they would have stayed away from media after that dreadful wedding...at least for a couple of years. Going around the world and smiling to cameras after everyone made fun of them, their wedding and their marriage is ludicrous. One must lack all decency to do things these two do for attention.

To bad Albert and WC didn't show up to Whitney's funeral ceremony...it was televised. They missed a great opportunity to be mentioned here in the USA.

It was by invitation only and I doubt that Whitney's family would have cared that he was a real life prince when they had Music and Hollywood Royalty attending the service. I watched a portion of the service, it was class all the way.

That is why hard get them into non catholic church, like to a Baptist one.

If PA or CC are Catholics, I'll jump off the next cliff. First, Catholics believe that there are many paths to Jesus. Second, Catholics don't live together before marriage, marry in open air, have many illegitimate children, brag about the thousands of people they have had sex with, etc. Neither Charlene or Albert are Catholic in anything but name only. Albert has attended many funerals in many churches. He had met Whitney Houston maybe once. He would NEVER be important enough to be there.

People, do you really think that I was serious about Albert and WC attending Whitney's funeral?!!!! ;D ;D ;D I was being sarcastic in reference to them going to the Oscars. Neither occasion is/was appropriate for them to be there.

RP, I got that but I think Lavette was serious...my comment was to her. If Albert's religious then what's Mother Theresa?

"Princess Charlene could be gearing up to attend her biggest red carpet event to date. Nice Matin and several other publications are reporting that the Monegasque royal and her husband Prince Albert are heading to the Oscars. There's been no official confirmation from the royal palace that the pair are set to rub shoulders with George Clooney and Brad Pitt.
But that hasn't stopped commentators debating who would design her dress, if the couple do head to Hollywood.
Among the contenders are Giorgio Armani, the designers behind the former Olympic swimmer's elegant wedding gown.
She could choose Swiss label Akris – one of her favourites and the makers of her engagement outfit – or Christian Dior, a tried and tested label.
Attending the Academy Awards would be a poignant outing for Albert – whose late mother Princess Grace was an Oscar winner. Before she retired from Hollywood, aged 26, to become Prince Rainier's wife, Grace won a trophy at the 1955 ceremony for her performance in The Country Girl."
Source: HELLO magazine.
IMO, if the Oscars are going to celebrate Grace, Albert should send Caroline or Stephanie to receive the Oscar. I cannot picture HRM Elizabeth II going to the Oscars, she would have send Prince Andrew or Princess Anne, not even Prince Charles. Albert and Charlene should learn from the best, Queen Elizabeth.

You make a good point about all the publicity opportunities they missed. Did Whitney ever go to Monaco? Anybody know?

MyAdia, Society News LA will give you solution to the visit of this non dynamic duo.
A Fairytale Cinderella Weekend Ends With Oscar News at les Ballets de Monte Carlo – HSH Prince Albert and Princess Charlene to Attend Academy Awards Ellen Olivier Feb. 17, 2012 Even before the “Fairytale Weekend” ended festivities for a stunning “Cinderella” ballet at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, there was talk of a real prince and princess coming to California. Presented by Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, “under the high patronage of H.R.H. The Princess of Hanover,” a.k.a. Princess Caroline of Monaco, this unique production of Cinderella was indeed magical. And while no royal highnesses ventured to California for last week’s ballet, conversations at Sunday’s Farewell Brunch soon turned to the forthcoming trip to Los Angeles by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II and his new bride, Princess Charlene, to attend the Academy Awards. In other words, this year there will be genuine royalty, in addition to Hollywood royalty, at the Kodak Theater on Feb. 26. This will be a first-time visit to the Academy Awards for the royal family of Monaco. Although Prince Albert’s late mother, the former Grace Kelly, won an Oscar in 1954 for “The Country Girl” and was nominated for “Mogambo” in 1953, it is believed she did not attend Academy Awards ceremonies after her 1956 marriage to Prince Rainer of Monaco. So what’s the Hollywood connection? The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, which is dedicated to protecting the environment, and Disneynature signed an agreement in 2010 to help raise public awareness through films and documentaries on the natural world. Disneynature, an independent film label of The Walt Disney Company, premiered the French version of its film, “African Cats” at October’s FPA2 Awards. Disneynature also premiered “Hidden Beauty” about the world of bees at the FPA2 Awards in Shanghai. Here’s the update for all those speculating as to “if” or “why” H.S.H. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene will really be coming to the Oscars… According to representatives of Monaco at Sunday’s Farewell Brunch for the “Cinderella” ballet, the royal couple will be the guests of Robert Iger, president and chief executive of Disney, and his wife Willow Bay, at the Academy Awards ceremonies. There’s no word yet on Princess Charlene‘s Oscar gown, but she wore Giorgio Armani Prive at her July wedding, Christian Dior for the Princess Grace Awards in November and Akris – reported to be her special favorite – to the marriage celebration of Prince William and Kate Middleton. No doubt the appearance will create a stir. I’m certain of that, because I had the privilege of attending a private party with Prince Albert at Cartier in 2009. His Serene Highness had come to represent Princess Grace when the City of Beverly Hills honored her memory with a plaque on Rodeo Drive’s Walk of Style. Despite all the Hollywood stars present at the ceremony, it was the Prince who drew the crowd’s attention.
