i haven't watched in a long time, but "all my kids" started when i was in high school and then i watched it in the commons at college all the time (back when TVs weren't allowed in dorm rooms) OMG the end of an era, i guess soaps are kinda "last century" but a world without erica NONONONONO it really is most unfair, they've just uprooted all the actors from NY and they all moved to california, now they're jobless....JMO ABC has NO CLASS!!!

Anyone seen The Voice in the U.S. yet on NBC? LOVED IT! American Idol's days are numbered!!! I think Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine are fantastic coaches. Critics are digging the show too as are most I know who've seen it. This is what singing comps should be about -- voices, not that Idol crud where they see you. Right now they're in the blind auditions phase: Premiere episode[not sure if it will work outside the u.s.] www.nbc.com/the-voice/video/blind-auditions-round-1/1322715/this was the coaches premiere night performance: www.nbc.com/the-voice/video/coaches-go-crazy/1321664/

Ugh I had to dig up this old thread. Don't we have a Hollywood Royalty one anywhere?!
This week, legend Kirk Douglas died. He was well loved by his family, and over 100 years old(!). And a great marriage partner as well, married some 70 years. R.I.P.
No doubt the Oscars tonight will have a nice tribute.

Closure for his fans and his loving family, after disappearing on a hike in the mountains that he knew well. Bad weather is cited. I loved him in A Room with a View. He had a handsome face and gorgeous voice. I almost had the pleasure to meet him on the set of Naked Lunch. Alas. Farewell to a most talented actor. www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-64328590

This is hugely sad. Andre Braugher, gone at 61. deadline.com/2023/12/andre-braugher-dead-homicide-life-on-the-street-brooklyn-nine-nine-actor-1235665513/I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Braugher at a wedding in Jamaica of one of his co-stars. Such a thoughtful, genteel man. I recall some of the last words we spoke, when he questioned my use of the word: "fabulate". It was new to him, just to show you the genuineness of his character that he'd never had to come across it before. We'd been going over semantics after another of his co-stars was being finicky about the pronunciation of the word: Bozouls, where he'd purchase a farmhouse. I imagine their reunion in heaven. Sad for who he leaves behind. Rest in blessed peace.
