The news has just been confirmed by Princess Caroline of Hanover itself: Andrea Casiraghi's boyfriend.
"I am delighted to announce the engagement of my son, Andrea Casiraghi and Miss Tatiana Santo Domingo" , writes the princess of Monaco in a short message broadcast by the Palace.
A wealthy Colombian family
The couple, both 28 years old, met seven years ago during joint studies.
Tatiana Santo Domingo belongs to one of the richest families in Colombia.
As for Andrea Casiraghi, the eldest of the nephews and nieces of Prince Albert II, he was placed number two in the order of succession to the throne of Monaco after her mother, Princess Caroline.

they have been together for 8 years. I don't see how her influence would change him now that they are getting married. And I don't think that her intention is to change him. She was ok with how ha was for 8 years, so why would she want him to change?
I find the headline interesting though as it says Caroline of MC and only in the text they correct it into Hanover. That's twice in one week she is not being referred to as Hannover...

I'm not talking about a woman trying to change a man. I'm saying unlike CC, Tatiana has people not just freeloaders, to beef up Andrea's place in the royal food chain. They won't think to do to him what they did to his father if they're unsure what kind of firepower his wife can bring to the table if someone challenges him ever. It's political power, not trying to get him to put down the toilet seat when he's done peeing  |

I get the impression she doesn't suffer fools gladly. She is the type to see right through people like Charlene and her family, not to mention the rest of the hanger-ons surrounding Albert. I bet Tatiana will get pregnant right away. It seems to me that Charlene's time may be coming to an end. First LA and then a hotel in Paris, not Albert's apartment. I wonder if Albert will ever step aside? I doubt it but hey I can always hope. Let Caroline take over and prep Andrea, Pierre and Charlotte. There is only one way for Monaco to go these days. So cheers to Andrea and Tatiana. JMO. |

People, please do not write Andrea and Tatian off because of LACK of information about who they really are. Do you really know how Andrea and Tatiana spend their days - outside of the few times a year you see them at public events - mostly parties or vacation? Just because you see photos of them ONLY when they are at parties and on vacation does NOT mean these are the only things that they do - just the ones that are more opportuned to be photographed. Unlike the trash that Albert brought to Monaco, the little that I have found about about Tatiana in just a few minutes impresses the hell out of me (please see the video that I posted in Tati's new thread). The fact that Andrea is marrying a well-spoken highly educated cultured consciousness woman speaks volume about him and places him in much higher regards than his ruling uncle who married a woman who herself stated she was dumb and dropped out of high school (although I'm thinking junior high school).

Talking about hidden agendas, is it coincidence that the announcement comes at the same time as barbie's big performance in Paris? Is there a secret publicity war going on?
