The reporter's snarky comments about Charlene in this article is why I feel that the Bendigo art gallery is smart not to focus on Charlene to attract people to the exhibit for the three months. Her husband will not be there for the March 10 opening of Grace Kelly: Style Icon, as he has been invited by French President Nicolas Sarkozy to attend an ''unmissable'' environmental conference in France.
Princess Charlene, Her Serene Highness The Princess of Monaco, made headlines in June when she was detained at Nice airport trying to flee on the eve of her wedding. On July 1, she and Albert were married.
... Organisers of the Bendigo exhibition hope that a member of the Kelly family will also attend the opening.
Members of the Monaco royal family, meanwhile, simply hope that Princess Charlene will come home.

The Bendigo Art Gallery is really hoping for a big turnout for this exhibit and of course not just on the opening night when Charlene attends but throughout the 3 months of display. Bendigo is hoping that people travel to their town to see the exhibit, thus increasing tourism. I wish them luck; I am a champion of small towns. I am glad that they are focusing on the pieces in the exhibit and Grace herself and not Charlene to draw people to their town - they actually design a variety of programs and events to accent the exhibit during the three months. Please do not make the same mistake Albert and Monaco made - promoting Charlene the main draw. Check out the long list of sponsors for the exhibit, the Bendigo taxpayers are just one of the underwriters. Monaco's Tourism Office is even sponsoring a chance to win a free trip to Monaco.

Here's an article from the Sydney Morning Herald stating that Albert's cousin John B Kelly will be at the exhibit. I know the sugar loonies will be disappointed expecting Stephanie, Caroline or even Charlotte to accompany the supposedly flagship of Monaco.
Kelly's nephew to grace her exhibition
by Suzanne Carbone February 13, 2012
BENDIGO is already laying out the red carpet for Princess Charlene - not the curly-haired poppet from Neighbours but the wife of Prince Albert II of Monaco - for the opening of theGrace Kelly exhibition, and now another limousine door is opening for the late princess' nephew, John B. Kelly. John is the son of Grace's brother John B. Kelly, a rower who won a bronze medal in the single scull at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. John will not only grace the Bendigo Art Gallery with his presence at the opening ofGrace Kelly: Style Icon on March 11, but he is the guest speaker at a screening of High Society at ACMI on March 5. In the 1956 film starring Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, Grace Kelly wore the engagement ring given to her by her fiance, Prince Rainier. John will take questions from the audience at the invitation-only event but Grace Kelly fans can win tickets. Prince Albert II is unable to come to Oz but said in a statement: ''This exhibition is of great importance to my family. Now in the final leg of its international tour, we are delighted that Princess Charlene will be able to attend." For female VIP guests who consider themselves high-society style icons, the ultimate accessory is the Hermes ''Kelly bag''. Prices start from $10,000. Go on, splurge.

This is the Monaco/Exhibit event that the reporter alludes to in the above article. This event occurred on Monaco's National Day and celebrated in Melbourne. Monaco also seems to be placing a lot of hopes in this event - they announced very early that Charlene will be attending and they sent a representative from the tourist office to Australia - but she went to Melbourne. Obviously, Monaco is hoping to attract potential tourists from Melbourne (population 4 million) as opposed to Bendigo (population 90,000). Having the exhibit in Bendigo was a favor to one of Albert's friends, which again says a lot about Albert's leadership and his ability to succesfully attract tourists to Monaco again. This article was written two weeks after the event on a travel site.
A Grace-ful night for MonacoThursday, 1 December 2011 Alison Roberts-Brown – Monaco Government Tourist Bureau, Andrew Cannon – Honorary Consul of Monaco and Karen Quinlan – Bendigo Art Gallery
Monaco Government Tourist & Convention Authority celebrated National Monaco Day in style last night, announcing the ‘Grace Kelly: Style Icon’ exhibition taking place at Bendigo Art Gallery in 2012. Attended by the Honorary Consul of Monaco Andrew Cannon, Bendigo Art Gallery director Karen Quinlan and special guest, the Consul General for France, guests were privy to two pieces from the exhibition that has been four-and-a-half years in the making. With more letters of condolence on Princess Grace’s passing received from Australia than any other country, her son Prince Albert, is reported to have wanted the exhibition celebrating her life to reach the people who expressed such admiration for his mother.
“She brought the princess to Hollywood before she became a princess,” Mr Cannon said.
A former rowing friend of Princess Grace’s brother, Mr Cannon shared his desire to bring “the Grace Kelly effect” to Australia and shared stories of her life and disciplined upbringing with guests at the event last night.
The exhibition will highlight the coveted wardrobe of Princess Grace with Ms Quinlan traversing the world to secure the pieces that will be available for viewing exclusively at the Bendigo Art Gallery from 11 March until 17 June 2012.
Dresses showcased include those from the film “High Society”, the gown she wore to accept her Academy Award in 1955 and haute couture gowns by her favourite coutouriers Christian Dior, Christobel Balenciaga, Hubert de Givenchy and Yves St Laurent.
The outfit the soon-to-be Princess Grace wore for her first meeting with Prince Rainier in 1955 will also be featured.
Tickets are currently on sale for the exhibition through the Bendigo Art Gallery, Victoria.

I came across articles weeks ago about the exhibit that I never got around to post. In summary, Albert's cousin John Kelly is the family member who is going with Charlene, the town and gallery has invested a lot of money in this exhibit and they are counting on it being a great economic benefit (sounds familiar) and the tickets for the opening gala in which the Princess of Monaco will attend sold out within three hours of going on sale. Note to flunkies before you run with this as proof of Charlene's popularity: the other gala openings in which Albert attended were all private events in which they tried to get the cream of the crop to attend. No tickets were sold. But, in this case they opened it up to the public (or had to) and sold tickets to get a full house. Here's a November 2011 article from the Bendigo Weekly where it mentions that this exhibit is being underwrited by the taxpayers with the hopes of a large attendance.
Missing the goal 24-Nov-2011 We are all proud of our Bendigo Art Gallery.
The City of Greater Bendigo council has had the courage and foresight both to support the development of the buildings and to back its exhibition ambitions.
When the rest of the country asks how this happened, as though to say, in Bendigo (of all places), we are now able to sigh a little and say, of course in Bendigo.
This is a city that does culture very well because it refuses to accept second-best for its own people.
Most importantly, the art gallery represents our aspirations to nurture our young people.
A city with respected, energetic, imaginative cultural leaders creates an atmosphere where self-respect, ambition and quality become community goals.
The Bendigo Art Gallery has a big responsibility in this area, and led by director Karen Quinlan, it has carried that responsibility very well – mostly.
This week, we read in the Bendigo Advertiser, that “the much-anticipated Grace Kelly: Style Icon exhibition was launched at an exclusive function in Melbourne”.
Quoting long-time Melbourne-based marketing consultant for the Gallery, Sharon Wells, the report said “high-profile guests”, such as Cathy Freeman and Mick Molloy, attended the event, organised by the Honorary Consul of Monaco for his country’s national day.
Turns out this “exclusive function” was not intended as any kind of launch for the next blockbuster at Bendigo Art Gallery. Apparently neither the gallery nor their marketing people had the slightest idea that, by inviting media, the event might possibly become a news story (along the lines of, country hicks get to rub shoulders with famous persons).
Naive, cynical, or just too busy to micro-manage their marketing details, the gallery made Bendigo look a little silly with this botched event.
Ms Freeman and Mr Molloy may well be itching to visit Bendigo to check out Grace Kelly’s frocks, but they are hardly the most important people to get on board, right at the start, for the exhibition which we, the people of Bendigo, are underwriting with our taxes and our hoped-for attendance.
It’s a pity, because the perception that there are two sets of people in Bendigo – those who throw on a colourful scarf and turn up to gallery openings and the hoi polloi who only care about whether their garbage is being collected – has gradually declined.
Never mind; plenty of opportunity exists between now and the show’s opening on March 11 for the Bendigo Art Gallery to prove they haven’t become so swept up in their own success they have lost sight of their core goal: inspiring Bendigo.

Is anyone keeping track of all these parties these two hard working buffoons attended - on behalf of Monaco? Is that a horse tail in the back of Charlene's head?

Recall from the Georger Christy article that Albert and Charlene attended two other parties that Saturday night before the Oscars, here's a photo from one of the parties - Variety. Wow, Albert and Charlene was such an sensation in America and at this Variety's party (I'm sure everyone wanted their photo taken with them )that the reporter doesn't even mention them in the article - but their photo is posted (you have to scroll down to find it).
Pre-oscar money ballBy SHALINI DORE Mar. 3, 2012
Hollywood -- The 10th annual Night Before party followed two traditions: wall-to-wall showbiz heavyhitters in a high-energy mood, and an evening of impressive fundraising, presented by Variety for 10 years now.
The event, at the Beverly Hills Hotel, raised $5.5 million for the Motion Picture & Television Fund, adding to more than $50 million raised at the past nine events.
At the fete, MPTF's Ken Scherer saluted Jeffrey Katzenberg for all that he's done, including his idea for the event a decade ago. "It's really Jeffrey's vision for this kind of party," Scherer said.
After the first event in 2003, Katzenberg said, "I think we hit a home run."
The home runs continued Feb. 25, with an all-star team in attendance. Steven Spielberg and Stacey Snider ushered in the Reliance group including Anil Ambani. J.J. Abrams chatted with George Lucas, while Meryl Streep huddled with Ron Meyer. Elton John literally bumped into Taye Diggs.
Wendi Deng Murdoch took out her iPhone -- replete with a Hello Kitty case -- to take a picture of George Clooney, Stacy Keibler and Li Bingbing, but Katzenberg gallantly took the device and snapped the photo so she could join the group.
Among the many representing the exec branch were Jim Gianopulos, Ryan Kavanaugh, Leslie Moonves, Rob Moore, Jeff Robinov, Rich Ross, Tom Rothman, Jeff Small, Howard Stringer and Harvey Weinstein.
Also mingling were Chris Columbus, Christopher Dodd, Sam Gores, Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, Laurie MacDonald and Walter Parkes, and Rick Nicita and Paula Wagner. The large thesp contingent included Leonardo DiCaprio, Gary Oldman, Octavia Spencer, Emma Stone and Max von Sydow.
Observed MPTF's Bob Beitcher: "All the studios, the stars, film, television, independent producers, studio executives are here. It's the one event where they can come, they know there's no paparazzi, they're totally protected, they can talk to each other pretty freely."
Looking to the next 10 years, he said, "Who knows? But we have to keep reinventing ourselves."
Indeed, the MPTF recently announced the goal of raising $350 million for the fund.
As is now tradition, Night Before partygoers had themselves photographed with the Target dog, although Chris Rock joked, "I'm a Walmart man.

In their April edition, Vanity Fair has spotlighted Charlotte. Gorgeous photo of a real natural beauty!
That Touch of Grace
By Ingrid Sischy Photograph by Peter Lindbergh
It’s not much more than a dot on the French Riviera, but tiny Monaco sure gets its share of ink. As the principality’s latest and possibly most reluctant object of desire explains, “It’s not a question of size, of whether it’s a small or a big thing, but of what it has the power to incarnate.”
She should know. If your great-grandpa, an Olympic gold-medal-winning rower, was once heralded as the American male with the ideal bod, if your granny was Grace Kelly, and if your mom is Princess Caroline, you might have a long lens on you too. Merlin the magician couldn’t have come up with a more potent brew of blue and hot-red blood than the lineage 25-year-old Charlotte Casiraghi descends from, and that’s just the maternal side of the family. (Her father, Stefano Ca¬si¬ra¬ghi, an Italian businessman, died in a speedboat accident when Charlotte was four.)
Oh, and did I mention the looks? Let’s just say the genes came through, and Princess Grace’s irascible former director, Alfred Hitchcock, would have approved, though he might have asked her to go blond instead of keeping her natural chestnut.
Casiraghi, a dedicated equestrian and amateur show jumper, is about to take a different kind of leap, appearing in her first-ever advertisements as the face of Gucci’s history-minded Forever Now campaign, which swung into high gear last year in celebration of the house’s 90th anniversary. Casiraghi’s contribution is a four-part series, each to be shot by an iconic photographer, starting with Peter Lindbergh (who also took this photo), with the whole shebang overseen by Frida Gian¬ni¬ni, the company’s creative director. The plan is that each image will reference the equestrian fashion themes that are so integral to the history of the house—the bit, the green-red-green webbing, and so on—a perfect fit given Casiraghi’s passion for show jumping: “It’s one of the only sports that is completely equal between men and women,” she says.
This is no one-night stand. For starters, Gucci’s famous floral print was born as a headscarf for Princess Grace; more recently, Giannini has been designing Ca¬si¬ra¬ghi’s equestrian wardrobe, and the house sponsors her amateur show-jumping career. (She’s hoping to emulate Great-Grandpa at the Olympics someday.) The designer has her own equestrian history, too, which reinforces the sense of aptness that ripples through this collaboration. To this day Giannini takes every opportunity she can to ride her own horse, which is stabled in the Italian countryside, south of Rome. “I run to him,” she confesses. His name? Bientôt.

In November 2011, the palace announced that David Tomatis was replacing Stahl as Albert's media adviser, so I don't know if the palace’s communications director Laurence Aubert is in addition to the media adviser and the chief of the press office. Regardless of how many are doing the job and what their titles are, these people have an extremely difficult job and they still refuse to face reality - if you put lipstick on a pig - it is still a pig. Albert and Charlene traveled with a full press corp entourage even to the Oscars. Who does that? Seriously. Who does that?! You can see Laetitia Pierrat and another lady (in the white pants suit) who may be Charlene's lady-in-waiting) attending all their events with them - including right behind them on the red carpet at the Oscars - who does that? These two are so full of themselves. Good lawd. In these two photos at seems that Charlene is tripping all over her gown - and Albert could care less (Laetitia and the other lady are in the background). They are heading to the after party for The Artist at the Mondrian Hotel. Albert is introducing his creation - the "New Grace" to everyone and he seems to be very proud of his work

After reading the loonie tune rant about us discussing her sense.less dribble called a diary, it really explains why Charlene is so screwed up in thinking that she was going to be a big hit on the red carpet at the Oscars. Every time this drag-queen-looking woman stepped out in another $10,000 (even Charlene's luncheon outfits average about $7,000) drab granny looking boring outfit, her flunkies swore she was the best dressed the most elegant and the classiest princess ever - and the dumb-as-a-rock Con artist believed them! Also, Charlene's flunkies, like Charlene, cannot stand Kate and are obbssed and extremely jealous of Kate's worldwide attention - which they called "manufactured" by the tabloid (Charlene knows this is what she has so she assumes that everyone's else's media attention is fake as hers). They constantly criticize Kate for her wide grin, which they called fake. Thus, Charlene's fans are always praising Charlene's so-called angelic serene demure look - and this fool really truly believes that she looks demure. Look at her in this photo and you can see her doing her demure look. Good lawd, this is so funny! LMFAO at this silly manly looking woman trying to pretend that she doesn't care about the attention that she craves. Thank you Charlene's family, relatives, friends, flunkies and especially sugar loonies for convincing this woman that she is some demure serene angelic looking style icon with her drab wardrobe, bad hairstyles and manly features. She changed nothing and wore more of the same and made a fool of herself because of you!The fake demure look....... of the woman whose fans convinced her she is a serene feminine angelic style icon. ;D ;D

Countess, she's still here and have always been among us. Eventually, they will send the wrong person a threatening letter demanding them to shut up (they have never sent me one) and Charlene will really truly be so sorry that she ever encouraged her flunkies to do her dirty work.

This Beverly Hills reporter notes that Albert is the first head of state to ever attend the Oscars in its 84 year history. The saddest thing is that Albert is too much of a Jackass now with his new fame-whoring gold digging wife to realize that there is a reason Albert himself has NEVER gone to the Oscars before - as neither has any other head of state - it's inappropriate! This Beverly Hills Courier article (here's a pdf version to read with all the photos)has all the details of Albert and Charlene's trip to Los Angeles - so clearly Albert's PR and staff were talking to anyone who would pay them some attention. They traveled with a full PR staff and the reporter has all the details. It seems Albert and Charlene's goal was to meet as many A-list stars as they can and try to entice them to come o Monaco. But in reality, Albert and Charlene come across as DESPERATE fame-whore attention seekers who would actually repel the A-listers. The narcissistic A-listers want to be among those who make them seem more important than they are (like William and Kate) and not some charity cases - as Albert and Charlene come across. One important thing to note: Albert's PR people REALLY TRULY should talk to Albert before they spread a pack of lies. This article mentions, "Yes, they had seen and loved The Artist, and were delighted it won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Musical Score, etc." It seems that PR is trying to do some spin AFTER the fact since Albert HIMSELF said that he hadn't seen any of the movies except "the Descendants" the night before. Notice the word "they" instead of the word "I" that Albert used.
George Christy Talks About Prince Albert, Wolfgang Puck, The Academy Awards And More!
by George Christy March 1, 2012
Prince Albert Grimaldi II of Monaco is the first Head of State to attend the Oscars, as he did this week with his statuesque Princess Charlene. Flying for 15 hours from Monte Carlo to Los Angeles on the Royal Falcon jet, Their Serene Highnesses arrived Friday evening for a three-day Oscar weekend, lodging at The Beverly Hills Hotel.
A confidante of the Monegasque royal family for several decades, Gary Pudney’s produced the World Music Awards and Laureus Sports Awards spectaculars for years in this lovely principality. To welcome the visiting royals, Gary planned a private luncheon in the sunny garden at the Hotel Bel Air. MaestroWolfgang Puck was at the ready, preparing his menu with a choice of loup de mer or Waygu steak, followed by a chocolate tart with a chocolate Oscar statuette dusted in gold flakes. During the drinks reception, the royals raved over Wolfgang’s famous smoked salmon pizza, and suggested he open a Spago in Monaco where they would be his loyal customers.
Everyone dined at a long table. “No quibbles about who was seated with the royal couple … everyone was!” laughs Gary, who arranged the Saturday and Sunday itinerary for the visitors. “The Prince asked for casual dress, no ties for the guys.”
Prince Albert’s luncheon partners were philanthropist Wallis Annenberg and Anne Sweeney, president of ABC networks and television. Gary sat with the Princess, as did Vanity Fair’s Graydon Carter, who found the royals “down to earth and very contemporary.” At table were Anne Sweeney’s husband Philip Miller; designer Carolina Herrera; Bobby Shriver, whose mom Eunice Kennedy Shriver founded the Special Olympics (Princess Charlene’s on the board); Texas doyenne Lynn Wyatt; Morgan Mason, who resides with Belinda Carlisle 40 miles from Monaco in adjacent France. Morgan’s the son of actor James Mason and Pamela Morris Mason, one of Hollywood’s fabled raconteurs.
Also: Joan Collins and Percy Gibson; Gelila Puck; Kathy and Rick Hilton; Vanity Fair’s Bob Colacello and Wendy Stark; Joel Briskin; Hilary and Bobby Marx (Barbara Sinatra’s son with Zeppo Marx, one of the five Marx Brothers).
Toasting the royals, Gary Pudney mentioned that “the Prince is real royalty and Hollywood royalty … his mother being the beautiful Grace Kelly.” Responding in his toast, the Prince recalled that his mother won the best actress Oscar 58 years ago for her performance opposite Bing Crosby in Clifford Odets’ The Country Girl. The luncheon was called for 12:30 PM, and the royals stayed until 4 PM. With them came aide-de-camps Colonel Emmanuel Lebegue and Laetitia Pieratt, along with the Palace’s communications director Laurence Aubert. They later briefly joined Elton John at his party and quickly stopped by The Night Before soiree benefiting the Motion Picture and Television Country House. The royals retreated then for a quiet dinner in their hotel suite.
At the 84th Annual Academy Awards, the Prince and Princess were guests of Disney’s Bob Iger and wife Willow Bay, with the foursome participating in the Red Carpet Rodeo, where they chatted with George Clooney. In the Kodak Theatre’s Green Room before the telecast, they met Livia and Colin Firth, Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock and Oprah Winfrey with mate Stedman Graham. Yes, they had seen and loved The Artist, and were delighted it won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Musical Score, etc. (We predicted the Oscar win during our Pick of the Week column in November.)
They stopped by the Governors Ball where Gary was impressed with the new lounge seating arrangements, and where he and Bob Iger introduced the royals to Hollywood power players. Onto the Vanity Fair after-party, a fannybumper with the crowd coming and going, munching on In-N-Out burgers. We hear one loud queen, after checking out the crowd, howled, “Would you believe there are more queens here tonight than at the Abbey Bar in West Hollywood?”
Meanwhile, in the Oscarland of the lookee-loos, Norby Walters, who’s repped musical stars and whose weekly poker nights attract regulars such as Mimi Rogers, Bryan Cranston, James Woods, etc., hosted his 22nd annual Night of 100 Stars in the ballroom of The Beverly Hills Hotel. Outsiders pay $1,000 for the privilege of dining with the famous of all ages. The evening’s chockablock with 500 guests that include Norby’s 200 celebrity chums, some being past Oscar winners. Robin and Bryan Cranston; songbirdAndrea Marcovicci, who performs at The Gardenia in Hollywood this month; Leann Rimes; Timothy Bottoms; Michelle Phillips; Garry Marshall; Bruce Davison; Toni Braxton; Chris McDonald; Gloria Allred; Richard Dreyfuss; Renee Taylor and Joe Bologna; Dennis Haysbert; Dolph Lundgren, and more. A warm and wonderfully friendly evening, with recognizable faces at every turn. We tip our topper to PR tiger Edward Lozzi for his huge assists. And to banquet supervisor Eric Drachman for the flawless service from his staff.
Among the most frequent questions asked about the Oscars during our frequent appearances in Toronto and Vancouver on Canada’s CTV were: Do the stars keep the gowns they wear? Do they get paid? Yes, many do. The gowns are created gratis, and the stars consult with stylists whose advice rises to astronomical fees, and, in our opinion, they’re worth every G-Note. Truth to tell, much as we admire their beauty and talent, celebrities are commonly known for their bad taste. To dress the stars, stylists likeRachel Zoe solicit major designers, who crave the publicity since the Oscars are televised in more than 225 countries and viewed by more than 380 million.
If memory serves us, it was our very own Courier contributor Joan Rivers, who years back kicked off the what-are-you-wearing mantra that’s now de rigueur on every channel. Anne Hathaway co-hosted last year’s Oscarcast with seven costume changes (her red Valentino gown with its bustle flunked), and she pocketed $750,000 from Tiffany for wearing their jewelry. That same night, Gwyneth Paltrow picked up a $500,000 paycheck, thanks to Louis Vuitton for wearing its jewelry. Charlize Theron is contracted with big bucks from Dior to wear its gowns and accessories. Talent agents are often behind the deals.
With the stars demanding to see a variety of choices, the designers send sketches. Choices may be made, but the insecure stars oftentimes reject them. More sketches are requested. Gowns are sometimes kept as thank you gifts, as are jewels, handbags, shoes, etc. which are credited throughout the red carpet walk, which offers global publicity and global sales.
One stylist extols the wonders of figure-shapers such as breast augmenters and Spanx that create the stars’ hourglass figures. The Help’s Oscar winner Octavia Spencer admits she “triple Spanxed” that night.
Stars will starve for their moment in the Oscar sun. Although experts caution that losing weight after 40 creates a haggard look. Quoted on the Internet, French film queen Catherine Deneuve says that sooner or later comes that moment when “a woman must choose between her face and her ass.”
What is it with the killer knives that are flung every year after the Oscarcast? Critics fire away nonstop. As if they are reviewing a Eugene O’Neill drama. Will the show ever be perfect? Doubtful. Every award show has built-in problems. Presenters. Honorees. One after the other. Speeches, one after another. Best to forget being critical, and sip a Chardonnay or whiskey, lean back and enjoy Hollywood’s prom night of high glamour and beauty, radiating more sparkle than in the firmament. Now, weren’t those Cirque de Soleil showstopper acrobatics enough of a surprise?

Well, Charlene 's fashion choice was covered by at least one of America's popular source for fashion news - the Cut of New York magazine. But, as the lone wolf tried to warned Monaco's top two idiots and the loonies that worship them - Charlene was ridiculed. The mag only refers to the Huffington Post article - but their one word added opinion was enough to get their point across. But hey Charlene - you and the gorgeous Michelle Williams are the only woman whose photo are featured in the article.

I am stuck at home and bored, so...went to read a "suga-board". To my surprise I found a great post which was totally ignored by other posters. WC is really lucky to have such a hardcore flunkies...only family members could be that blind ...they still insist that the Oscars adventure was a pure hit and Albert and WC represented Monaco splendidly. ;D The ones (flunkies) that still have some common sense left couldn't pretend this time and write nonsense, so they opt to scoop it under the carpet by saying; "OK, it is time to move on"....Amazing! ;D ;D ;D Here is the post I was referring to...it is worth reading even though it is basically the same of what we are saying in here, but it is nice to see that there are "others out there" thinking straight. " I was afraid this was going to happen -I wrote about it a month ago. Their appearance at the Oscars was a flop. The snarky, cruel remarks about Charlene and Albert are all over the web again. Most Hollywood blogs either never mention them or those that do have made a joke out of them. RoyalP, this poster was the sole voice of reason (besides our own two lone wolves who post there even after being constantly harassed - which is ok by The Royal Fantasy board rules). Here is what the poster wrote a month ago (this is NOT me, I long stopped wasting my breath on these loonies). I have mixed views on Albert & Charlene attending the Oscars. Do I think it’s beneath them? yes. Why do I think that? Because there really is no reason for them to be there. If Grace were getting honored in some way or if they traditionally attended I may think differently- but I fear this will be seen as very desperate attempt for Albert & Charlene to drum up some much needed publicity for themselves. I fear the snarky, nasty comments and press will return- It’s Hollywood remember- they can say anything about ANY subject.
But on the other hand-, if you look at from a business and reality standpoint- it may not be so bad. Fact is they do not have the world wide popularity that Grace and Rainier have- or that William and Kate now have. Like- said- Hollywood came to Grace- she never had to go hawk her image for anything. They came to her, the press hunted her and her family relentlessly PA & CW do not have that situation or the luxury of people always coming to them. Like many places in the world- Monaco’s economy is hurting now. PA & CW may have no choice but to pimp out their image sometimes —kind of like the Kardashians/Snookies,etc. But say what you want about the Kardashians- the press may call them desperate for fame and publicity but the business fact is - they banked $65 million last year and you cannot argue they get press. The publicity can’t get any worse for PA & CW than the negative press surrounding their wedding and honeymoon-. Their image is kind of defined like that anyway- so why not go with it- make some money and bring the Hollywood wanabees to Monaco. As long as they spend money and help increase tourism- who cares. It’s a different time there now. Forget the –glamour image blah, blah , blah, blah - think reality and business .
PA & CW are doing everything they can. They are out and about in Monaco and other places-smiling and doing their jobs. They just don’t have the star power or media popularity of their predecessors – so they have to change the game plan and work with what they have. So I say- go for it. I wish them the best.

Her Star Trek inspired ensemble at the Mont Blanc event honouring Grace's line of dedicated jewelry, I think warrants to be in the WTF thread, personally. It's pretty bad. Actually, this thread was not intended to be a special thread for "WTF Is She Wearing?" I moved Lady Michelle's posts, which she wrote "WTF she is wearing" to explain Charlene's trashy see-thru black top, into this separate thread instead of in the couple's combines news/event thread. That's all. I actually modified this thread (see first post) to include some other posts since I now realize that the photo of Charlene with the leather coat and her black see-thru top is at the same event. Charlene was very proud of that outfit and she wanted to make sure that everyone sees the full effect. So, let's not make this thread a "WTF Is She WQearing?" thread to again talk about each of Charlene's outfits. We can discuss each outfit in the thread of the event and can post the item in the who-made-it thread and also discuss it there.

Trampolina must be pea green with envy over the news that Charlotte will be the new face of Gucci. Perhaps Trampy can get a similar deal with K-Mart?! Charlene's is basically the face of Akris - and look how that is turning out. I am sure Charlotte will ATTRACT people to Gucci and make them want to BUY their products, which is the job of an ambassador. Charlene definitely attracts attention to Akris (I never heard of them until she started wearing their products). But, I will never buy anything that they make - Charlene does not entice me to buy their product - quite the opposite. Albert Kremlier of Akris will soon find out that he made the same mistake that Albert the Jackass of Monaco made - Charlene. Charlene gets press because of her position but Charlene herself doesn't have a positive influence or positive impact on anyone or anything.

The South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) wants to set the record straight about the timing of Charlene's offer to host the SA swim team. Charlene made the offer last July so the offer is not due to the team's current money problems. My question: Don't you find it rather convenient that the offer was publicly announced the day after Charlene is being ridiculed in the press even though she made it 8 months ago? I am assuming that the Swim Team would have NEVER publicize this without Charlene's permission. Never. This woman was a big fat flop at what she believed was going to garner her international press as the best dressed lady at the Oscars and instead she was a laughing stock. So, now she wants to try to turn the press into another of her manufactured persona - the great humanitarian. I hope this team has a back up plan come June 1st because every time Charlene does something to garner attention to herself - it backfires big time. Why couldn't the hosting of the team just have been a personal selfish and PRIVATE gesture. Albert has hosted tons of athletes and they never did a press release to let everyone know. Charlene has even hosted the swimmers in her apartment before and no one did a press release. But, after the Oscar's ridicule, I guess she need a positive attention fix real soon. From the Daily News:
Princess’s offer not due to money trouble March 1 2012 By Barbara Cole and Simone Samuels
Princess Charlene of Monaco’s offer to host the South African Olympic swimming team ahead of the 2012 Olympics had nothing to do with Swimming South Africa’s financial woes, the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) has said.
Sascoc chief executive Tubby Reddy said SSA’s apparent financial woes were a “separate issue”.
Lotto had not allocated funding for the Olympic year and although Telkom had indicated that it would be continuing its sponsorship – with these major financial backers having “closed the tap”, this presented difficulties, he said.
However, Reddy said: “The princess’s decision to host the team was made sometime last year after discussions about where the team would have their base camp, and she has offered to provide facilities, meals and accommodation which has nothing to do with SSA’s finances.”
The princess had offered the team her support last year when Durban hosted the International Olympic Organising Committee.
“It has nothing to do with bailing them out. The princess was always going to host them,” said Mark Keohane, the spokesman for Sascoc, the multi-code body.
He was commenting on a report by Eyewitness News Sport which said that the princess, former South African Olympian swimming star Charlene Wittstock, had come to the aid of SSA by offering to host the country’s swimming team for free ahead of the London Olympics.
Swimming SA was in financial difficulties following the loss of a major sponsor and “problems” with Lotto funding, the report said, adding that Sascoc had recently called for financial assistance.
“This is old news. Someone has mistakenly connected the two issues (the offer and the financial situation). The team was always going to go there.”
Sascoc chief executive Tubby Reddy said that the princess will allow the team the chance to base operations in the principality from June 1.
“We only have to cover travel expenses… She’ll provide the facility, nutrition and accommodation,” Reddy said.
Keohane said that the Olympic swimming squad had not been chosen yet. The team could number anything from 15-30 swimmers, he said.
The SSA office was unable to comment as reaction had to come from the chief executive, Shaun Adriaanse, and the president, Jace Naidoo, who were unavailable.
Team SA hope to win 12 medals at the Olympic Games in London in July and August.
“The medals would come from swimming, athletics and maybe cycling, canoeing and rowing,” Tubby Reddy said.
He was speaking after the Sascoc leadership had briefed Parliament’s portfolio committee on sport and recreation on Thursday. This was after they had spent R34 million on preparations for the Olympics and R15m more to “deliver the team”. He expected between 12 and 14 sport codes of 26 to qualify for the games. They would send a team of more than 100 to the games, he said.
Sascoc president Gideon Sam told the committee that it was R50m short for incentives to athletes in London.

According to this Econostrum Info article, the extension project is back on. Monaco back on the mat the proposed offshore extension
by William Allaire Wednesday, February 29, 2012 MONACO. Just over three years after giving up a first very ambitious project, thenPrincipality of Monaco is about to rehash the extension of the Fontvieille district to the sea The Ministry of State of Monaco has indeed launch a consultation restricted to select group of designers (engineering firms, architects, landscape architects) who will consider an extension of about 5-9 acres off Fontvieille. This site Pharaonic require backfilling of an area a depth of 50 to 55 meters would allow the micro-state to expand by creating 350,000 square meters of buildings. This new area added up luxury housing, state housing (state property) and economic areas.
Three groups whose representatives are competent engineering firms in marine construction will be held in summer 2012. The winner, selected in early 2012 will have fourteen months to floor on the program.
A project more "green" Recall that Fontvieille district of Monaco is located below the "Rock" where the Prince's Palace and the historic center of town.
In December 2008, Prince Albert had given up a major expansion project at sea, of ten hectares, whose cost was estimated at 5 to € 10 bn, due to the economic crisis and the possible negative impact on the environmental studies draft had mobilized world-renowned architects . At the time of stopping the process, two finalists still in contention: the American Daniel Libeskind and the BritishNorman Foster . In spring 2009, the ruler of Monaco had expressed his intention to revive a project cheaper and exemplary in terms of use of renewable energy. The head of the small state - tightened about 2 km 2 and height while deployed - sought a "comprehensive record" in 2013-2014 to make its decision.

Lets not waste our time trying to convince loonies that Albert and WC are NOBODIES here in the US. They were never mentioned before Oscars or during the Oscars (except on the red carpet when Albert pushed himself dragging his stoned wife in front of first microphone he saw to say a couple of stupid words) and most importantly NOBODY, NOT EVEN ONE show mentioned them or showed their pictures days after the Oscars. Like they never appeared there. That is evidence of how popular they are! That shows what kind of impact they had on US media/population. ZERO! 99.9% of people don't even know who the heck those two are. I know RP, but I was actually trying to throw the woman a bone because I am starting to ALMOST feel sorry for her after reading the ridicule of her on some of these websites. Instead of Charlene trying to change the things that makes her a NOBODY (if that is even possible), she would rather have her goons promote this Oscar trip as a big success. Charlene has been taught by Albert instead of working hard to make real differences within yourself and Monaco to make it more attraction, just hire a PR person/firm to promote you as having attractive qualities that you or Monaco doesn't really have. So, when people do not buy the PR spin, they get mad at the PR person and not look within themselves. This is why Charlene's flunkies are complaining that Kate has better PR spin - instead of coming to the realization that Kate HERSELF is a better person with more attractive qualities than Charlene. I will bet you anything that Albert will be firing the current palace PR guy - whose name I don't remember - and it doesn't matter what it is because he will be gone soon.

I just don't understand how Charlene and, or her family or friends can possibly think the Grimaldi's can be compared to The Windsor's. Dear God they all are so really, really, dumb and unsophisticated! We're talking England, and all it's territories, and it's vast history. We're talking THE QUEEN and The Future KING and Queen of this country. The United States EXISTS because of England! England is OUR MOTHER country. England is a dear, and irreplaceable ally of the United States. Most of us LOVE The Queen. We wouldn't necessarily want her to replace our President, or our Democracy - but we still love her. Can't CW and her flunkies get their stupid, thick minds around this concept? Is this soooo hard to understand? Charlene can and will NEVER be able to compete with KATE. EVER. And she is really foolish to even think, or try to compete with her. It's just NOT going to happen. Why can't this idiot be happy with what she has and make something of it? Geez. I swear to you, Charlene and her family seriously believe that Charlene is not only competing with Kate, but Charlene is better than Kate. She truly believes that she is better than Kate - and that's why she wanted to go to the Oscars - to show that she can cause a better stir than Kate did. This woman has an illness - Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I was reading some of the posts on The Royal Fantasy board and now I see why Charlene is so messed up in her crazy beliefs that she is the best dressed royal and is extremely classy and elegant. After studying some of the posters comments, I am absolutely convinced there are professional bloggers (at least two I know for sure) who are writing there with the sole purpose of promoting Charlene. I am not talking about the gushing and nasty posts Charlene's relatives and friends make on Charlene's behalf (many of them post there). These professional bloggers write detail comments (mostly lies about the high public interest in Charlene and her great accomplishments in languages and everything else) and their writing style is more polished (almost professional) even making bullet points. These posters are not regular royal loonies but bloggers with the specific purpose of promoting Charlene AND disparaging Kate (and others in the British royal family). Reality check to Charlene's flunkies: You truly are not helping Charlene. You truly are not. Only the already loonies believe that crap that you write and you have to be stark raving mad to believe that anyone believes as you claim that Albert and Charlene's palace courtyard wedding was more royal and beautiful than William and Kate's in Westminster Abbey. Do you have any idea how ridiculous that looks just writing it? How in the world can you say that with a straight face and then expect any sane person to believe it? You really are making Charlene look like the stone lunatic most people are claiming she is when they saw her latest attempt to show up Kate at Oscars. One of these bloggers is claiming to be from Thailand but always gives first hand account of knowing all of Charlene's abilities - like Charlene being fluent in Afrikaans. The Thailand poster knows this as fact because the blogger just so happened to be in Capetown in 2002 and just so happened to be watching TV when Charlene just so happened to be giving an interview speaking in Afrikaans. Charlene really believes all that loonie crap from these loonie people who gush over every single piece of drab bland "flat as a pancake" clothing that she wears. Charlene truly believed that she was going to be a big hit in America wearing more of the same. Instead of facing reality, Charlene's professional bloggers are trying to convince people that Charlene's appearance was understated royal elegance and that's trashy Hollywood cannot appreciate it. These people still haven't figured out that everyone is not as stupid as Jackass Albert who believed the manufactured press by Charlene's flunkies and friends at her favorite tabloids and glossy press. You cannot WRITE a profile for this woman when her actually existence contradicts everything that you WRITE. I stopped when I got to their expose how Albert and Charlene's behavior shows true love that will withstand the test of time unlike that of William and Kate's.
