Sarko faces trail for corruption... SarkoBest to read the whole article but the Monaco highlight: Apparently/Allegedly, the thing never happenend, but if foreign (sort of...) countries are working to make Monaco a shady place for equally shady people, Monaco itself can just sit back and take another cocktail.

Seems he has heard about his fellow countrymen the Von Hanovers... Don't they claim the British throne on much the same idea, succession went via a female family member while it should have gone via the male line (i.c. theirs)? I wouldn't mind seeing fake environmentalist Albert II Grimaldi being de-throned. This chap has at least as much value and ancestry heritage as he does and he sounds more legitimate, so... why not him? Plus there will not be anymore scandals and paparazzi, no more crazy construction projects and profiteering, no more residence permits against big capital, and so on. I am all for it. I doubt it. Monaco is run the way it is because it is the only viable way. If they didn't, the country would slide back to being a lemon and orange orchard. That might not be a bad thing, but it runs against the current economical believe of perpetual growth/expansion: bigger, higher, better, more, more, more. More people, more profits, more money, more turnover, more inflation (to finance it all), higher prices, bigger companies, you name it.

There's no money for that. Barbie is a paid escort on the cheap. Albert didn't get noticably more money when he married (nor when he got engaged) and Barbie's upkeep seems to be paid from sponsor contracts (at least she's used to that). How many times has she been the sponsored muse/clothes horse for one clothes designer or other? Her one tiara was one big advertising campaign and if you look at things from that point of view there are probably more events to be seen that are sponsored or otherwise paid for by others. The lack of an official lady in waiting is another. Madame Gallico (how is she btw? Haven't seen her for years. Does anyone know?) was widely known as holding that position and was even doing the job when there was no princess to wait on. And now? If there is one, I couldn't tell you her name. A few people have filled that position for a short time, but that seems to have been all?
Sometimes, when I'm not entirely right in my mind, I feel sorry for barbie. Compared to all those other useless golddiggers that became princesses, barbie is the Cinderella of them all. She got such a bad neglected-stepdaughterly deal by the looks of it.

And, apparently, girls are not expected to like football? Why is Jacques there and Gabriella not? Name too long to fit on a shirt?

Prince Philip is to retire from royal duties after August: BBCMuch ado about nothing and confusion with an emergency staff meeting that turned out to be a normal yearly staff meeting. (or so they say) No deaths, no divorces, no marriages, just a 95-year-old retiring. Good luck to him.

This is interesting that the info was made public! I sometimes wonder if (at least some) of those stories aren't some sort of "Look, I'm not gay" cover-ups. Or just plain bragging. Mmm. Faulty reasoning IMO. All his kids (the ones we know of anyway) all look like their respective mummies, I have to see the first Grimaldi yet. So if those kids are beautiful, it is not Albert's doing or genes...

Yersin is the name of a doctor, plague? This one, I think. Got the plague bacillus named after him. Though there is also an Alexander Yersin, an entomologist. Donna, I suspect that might be a fake news site. I came across a page claiming Albert's phone was hacked and his nude pictures were published all over the internet... Too much news there to be true. Edit: see thisFake news, charicatured, media experiment... Besides, German tabloids have been publishing the divorce for months. I seriously wonder if their readers have a) memory issues and/or b) logic issues. How can you believe/read/buy a magazine claiming on its front page the exact opposite of last week? Today living separate lives - marriage over, next week pregnant or the saviour of the country.

According to Frau im Spiegel is Jazmin engaged to the 9 year older Ian Mellencamp (nephew of John Cougar Mellencamp), rock star and model. Can't really find anything about any engagement but the relationship seems to be there. Kind of a disaster waiting to happen, but that's just my opinion. After glancing over the article, I was left wondering what exactly is wrong with the girl. Looking for a father figure? Hunting for the fame and recognition she thinks is due to her? Still a wannabe princess?

I sooo would love to get Monaco rid of that plastic ass. It's kind of the only reason I still visit here. The fun has gone out of all things monegasque a looooooooooong time ago.

That was kind of the point. But I do have to admit that I had a major brain freeze and miscalculated. It is indeed the 10th anniversary instead of the 15th. Feels like 50 though. But if we start counting from the Mare Nostrum meet it's the 16th anniversary... Oh well, I'll just crawl back under my rock.

Can someone enlighten me about the connection between graduating nurses and Barb's foundation? And what is Africa's outline doing there on the wall? I'm guessing it's barb's foundation again but I thought that wasn't Africa-only? I know that barbie has become Africa's princess instead of Monaco's, but still. Too lazy and desinterested to look it up myself btw. Maybe they're specially trained development aid nurses destined to work in third world countries, but like I said, too desinterested to go and hunt for the info. I can't say that Monaco's news and affairs are making more sense now then they did 10-15 years ago. And speaking of 15 years ago: we forgot to mourn the 15th anniversary of the blight of barbie last February. link times 20. Coffee and cake anyone?

'Charlene's birth certificate disappeared...' Bunte has it. They printed a copy of it years ago. That article with the late granny Wittstock IIRC.

The company that's going to build that environmentally friendly and warm and loving Portier extension is going to issue/issuing shares, loans or whatever you want to call it. They aim to raise 1.1 billion euros, so I think we can assume that is what the project is going to cost. Unless you live in less better controlled countries - like most of Europe - where national projects like this end up costing at least three to five times as much as estimated.
Just in case anyone is interested.

So, now the five years are over, does that mean that barbie will slowly fade away (more) and that we'll finally get rid of her fantastissimo plastic highness? (insert hopeful tone in text... Not that I care anymore, it's the principle of the thing.)

Meh. Yes body language. In 2011 they started out cold and distand (my words) and now, 5 years later, they are touchy, feely and close (my words again). Some lines where the expert rugby tackles her own words by saying she's just analysing photos, a moment in time, and then throws in a some more reservations. I suppose they didn't copy it from Bunte? Triple meh.

i believe it is quite telling that in the meantime the monegasque PR department does not even offer any more any explanations on why charlene is no longer attending official events abroad with her husband. it seems a given fact that she simply does not appear, unless for her own charity and a limited number of fix major events in the princely calendar 'at home' in monaco. You mean to say there is still a PR department working away in Monaco? It's been so quiet on the PR front since the babies were born that I wonder if they still exist. The plotting, scheming and working with Bunte died down after the rush of the wedding and after Stahl snuck out the back door of the palace, but now they seem to have been disbanded or are doing nothing but drinking coffee and networking next to the coffe machine...
