I'm going to put this here. I think it's relevant to any intellectually curious person and since we seem to have a lot of preconceived and media programmed notions about the wider Arab kingdom, here's a great book I'm reading at the moment, that offers a counterweight to all the propaganda. It's called "A Concise History of the Arabs" by author John McHugo. Its interesting to note so far that Muslim countries were safer havens than Europe, by the absence of prosecution of minorities and that on the whole, the inhospitable label has only taken root in the last decades of the 20th century. All in all, it's worth to give this civilization the benefit of the doubt. And that's waxing over all that we owe them in terms of science. I personally recently experienced the hospitality and quality of life there, and I can't wait to go back.

Except that it's most likely not true. The Daily Mail & Star are hardly serious papers. Aren't they owned by Rupert Murdoch? Good on her! Now try telling me that Murdoch also owns PressTV the government controlled Iranian news site? Sure I will believe you muwahahahaha! Dubai's Princess Haya ditches billionaire ruler, flees with £31 million: Report The wife of the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has reportedly fled the Persian Gulf kingdom to London with £31 million (over $39 million) following the break-up of their marriage. Princess Haya Al Hussein, who is the half-sister of Jordan’s King Abdullah II, is said to be seeking a divorce after initially fleeing to Germany, where she sought political asylum, British tabloid newspaper the Daily Mail reported. A German diplomat apparently helped the princess, 45, escape from Dubai. There are reports that she has also taken her son Zayed, 7, and daughter Al Jalila, 11, with her. -50% www.presstv.com/Detail/2019/06/29/599742/Dubais-Princess-Haya-ditches-billionaire-ruler-flees-with-31-million-ReportGood comment here: Shiek muhammad treats his horses better than humans.

With all due respect, firstly she can walk, not run. She is after all the sister of the king of Jordan, there's no need for incivility. I personally would not have seen that one coming, but there was strong resentment in her husband's rebuke so it remains to be known what happened. There is such a whirl of changes lately, with the triple wedding and the CP skipping the last rite in the marriage process on June 14th, when he preferred to remain in England rather than proceed with the custom of attending the last part of the women's celebration to take his bride home. It was implied he had his father's support. It's hard to reconcile a moment of father-son support, with a sudden outbreak with Haya. I find it also hard to believe she might have needed to somehow grab 31 million £ or $, or seek asylum. It sounds like hyperbole, I'm sorry. Except that it's most likely not true. There's going to be tons of speculation until the court date on the last day this month. Already, some mention the British bodyguard; others are being extremely harsh about Sheikh Mohammed's suddenly Macchiavelian senior wife; some rumblings are about help from Saudi princes etc etc. All agree though there's been a moment of panic. Having said that, if we're dealing with a wronged sheikh, it's worth noting it's been handled in verse rather than violence, but few will stop at that elegant coping mechanism for an Arab. They'll hype instead her apparent fear and need for "asylum". I'm not saying she's not justified in running for dear life but let's be clear - it would not be from her husband whose offspring have been known to run to danger to help, not to harm. A side story since the May weddings has been another emir losing his last remaining heir, for a second time. From that view, could there be a shift towards concentrating the country's power? And would an HRH like Haya submit her children to anyone who didn't respect hers and her children's rank, outside her husband? That would make me consider leaving. On the other hand, one could make a historical observation about Jordanian self-interest, in its history with Arabs and there, one could surmise Sheikh Mohammed's trust in a modern romance was one-sided and would explain his plaintive poem. If I had something to say to Haya, it would be to remind her that the current course may not be an improvement unless she marries well again, and not some bodyguard. I think she may have missed an opportunity to show her mettle, if she left her husband alone to handle a challenge from the outside, to his leadership, if this is what's really going on. This would only hinder her own children later, if the result of all these undermining events served to diminish his excellent work of the past decades building up Dubai. I really don't believe in the internecine undertones, since Haya was pulling up the female contingency in my view, and was embodying Dubai's progressiveness. What's more and lastly, on the 15 daughters Sheikh Moh has, among the 24 children he has reared and supported, if one or even two report ill treatment, it does not make it the general rule. Like the British bodyguard, the former French intelligence officer with a dubious American connection to Florida involved in the 2018 story, these men are not in my opinion disinterested or altruistic. They are, after all, for hire. Just who did the hiring? Therein lies the answer to all this.

So there you have it. Haya is against the forced marriage of their 11 year old (!!) pre-teen daughter Al Jalila. Considering the night that tribal leaders visited Zabeel Palace during Ramadan to pay their respects to Sheikh Mohammed, at the end of the night three of his sons had been precipitously married off, anyone can do the math whence that pressure came. Sheikh Mohammed has a host of beautiful and interesting daughters who were NOT railroaded into child marriages. Perhaps she's victim to her HRH status. Sheikh Mohammed was fed a story started by the bodyguard's wife about Haya's fidelity, that spurred his angry poem. This is almost a typical two-prong attack in that environment. Unfortunately their marriage may be doomed, much like Prince al Waleed's was. Should they divorce, I hope they continue to hook up, away from troubles. As I mentioned on my blog, the choice of the anniversary date of the move of the US embassy to Jerusalem on May 15th, as the date to force marry three Dubai sheikhs is highly suspect to me. As per Latifa, who followed a chain of outrage over Shamsa (the other daughter who was lured to London nightclubs), all these reactions are natural but lack objectivity; the danger the children sense at being disciplined, their parents themselves feel at their waywardness, so it's a toxic vicious cycle. Sheikh Moh no doubt will worry just as much about alJalila growing up in London where his other daughter ran into trouble but that's the goal of some, I suppose, to always get under a person's skin to alter their conduct or control their emotions. And if they maintain any antagonism between Haya and Mohammed, you can be sure the parents will slip up in the care of their children. I honestly don't think anyone chose this.

Some good news...Sheikh Mohammed and Princess Haya are not yet divorced. It goes to November. 👍🏻
Back to waiting for any good news here. It's simply inhumane to strand us with an illegal car seizure, glaringly falsified reports following a threat by a Rizzuto clan member. No amount of pleading with authorities up to the federal Public Safety Ministry seems to rectify the situation. The Montreal police abets the Rizzutos. It's Toronto 2015 all over again.
