If the Belgians go it is for the religious part. But I don’t see Mathilde and Philippe go to Monaco. They are very religious.
Where is Maxima and Willem-Alexander? Cancelled?
Yes, Fred is IOC member.

LOL but Royals have the tendency of partying while they still can. Belgium might not have a king for very much longer either. The reason for them to have on in the first place was to unify the country and that is obviously not what he is capable of. must be in the name LOL ;D

According to this AFP (Agence France Presse) video, Cyrille Boulay, an historian of monarchies will be a guest at the wedding. Here's a video of him speaking (I have no idea what about - it's in French)
Charlene Wittstock, "bergère qui va devenir princesse"

According to this article, Irish comedian Brendan Grace will be a guest at the wedding. The article states, "After performing for the first family of Monaco he has been invited to return for Prince Albert’s wedding."

INes de la Fressange and KL are Caros guests, Tozzi and Bocelli are paid guests. I think that says it all about how excited everyone is to go there. Senior Royals came to Rainiers funeral. They didn't say who is coming for GB, just who is not coming. MC matin keeps going on about Kate and WIll not coming as if they really did expect them to come and that it is a real disappointment that they don't. I wonder if some of the PR were hoping for them to come to bring some attention to the wedding. I bet they are currently discussing whether inviting Pippa would be a good idea, even at the risk that UK media would only report on her and her outfit and nothing on MC. But seeing how desperate they are for attention, I would not be surprised a bit.Paca, you joke (I think you are joking), but there are lots of articles in the French press about Pippa being invited to the wedding. Here's one on the French TF1 website (who is broadcasting the wedding and have a page dedicate to it). Most of the articles discussing whether Pippa will come or hoping that Pippa do come and add some glamour to the wedding. Here's a French site which states, "But rest assured that Albert and Charlene, they may be able to count on Pippa Middleton to provide a dose of glamor on the Rock ...Rumor's sister Kate could indeed attend the wedding." God, that is so hilarious. It's clear that those in the media who aren't kissing Albert & Charlene 's butts are desperate for some glamour from this loveless made-for-tv wedding. I can assure you without a doubt that Charlene - who has tens of thousands of posts on certain message boards where she hates on Kate - will not have Pippa no where near her wedding where she has dreamed of the world watching only her.

According to this 4000 Monegasques will be attending the wedding, over 5000have made requests. Hmmm, so why is the non Monegasque former piano teacher of Andrea invited.... Those coming have to be there between 14.00 and 15.30h and then they need to wait for another 1.30h!!! Are these people totally nuts? In the afternoon heat they want to make 4000 people wait for 3 hours?? And then another almost 2hrs for mass?? I wonder once people received the time, whether they still want to go. Those who have seats will have to stay till after 19.00h, those who stand up are a bit better of as they can come at 16.45 and leave at 18.30h. If you want a seat up front you have to be there at 14.00h. So that makes it over 5 hrs(better take a picnic and loads of drinks); you can have bare shoulders if you like.n They say its due to the heat, I think it is due to the bare shoulders of the bride... So expect a dress similar to the one at Amfar or last Red cross. those who show will receive a little sthto remember. They did that too for the avenment. The men received a coin. I have one of those too as they gave them later to those who participated in making it too. Don't remember what the women got. I do suspect though that they will give sth to those who come on Friday too... www.monacomatin.mc/article/monaco/4-000-monegasques-sur-la-place-du-palais

They are going to make other royals wait 5 hours? paca I noticed you left out the calculation for Albert being notoriously late so perhaps his bride will be standing there waiting for him with her make-up melting. I still can't believe they are having this in the dead of summer. They should have had it the beginning of April for the height of the social season not the end of it. Really dumb!

The royals won't come that early. I think they want the palace square full by 15.30 and then get the other guests in. They want a crowd to be there for the real guests and they want a crowd to still be there when they come back to the palace. It's all for TV. I think that is part why Monegasques are going, because if they don't go it will paint a certain picture of MC. I just find it inconsiderate as the majority of these people are old or elderly. Those are the ones that will feel obligated to go. But have them sit there for 5 hours in the heat and sun is IMO torture.

Maybe they want to get rid of some older people to make room - get hands on their appartements or their valuables . Remember one can never be too rich! That applies especially to the riches in MC. That would make headlines all over the world if people collapsed during the ceremony or when the royalties arrive.

‘But have them sit there for 5 hours in the heat and sun is IMO torture.’ I agree.
‘Maybe they want to get rid of some older people to make room - get hands on their apartments or their valuables’ On the Avenue d'Ostende last year was a penthouse overlooking the bay sold for a record amount of 240 million euros, or 148 000 euros per square metre, to an investor from the Middle East.

Already 5000 left? they said over 5000wanted to come, but there is not enough space. there will be seats for 3000, the rest will have to stand....2 h mass in the afternoon heat standing up??? I doubt that those will come. STill there is a large number if you consider that it is about 8000, who did not want to come. That is roughly a third of the population who does not care to go. The majority of those who do want to go are probably 50 plus. Then do not forget that a certain number of Monegasques will be inside as they come from old families, hold an office etc. NOt all of those on the square will be Monegasque either. There will be others invited as well. Some of the residents who have business with the family. That sort of thing. I suspect all in all there will be half of the people Monegasque, newly made Monegasques, selected residents and others with an interest....
