The baby is called Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. What a surprise! kinda of relieved that no "Alice" in the name. I always imagine "Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter, etc.! Also relieved that NO "Camilla"... hee hee. Glad Diana is remembered... here is a link: www.people.com/people/package/article/0,,20910362_20920211,00.html?xid=email-breakingnews-20150504AM-20920211-hd

Well, bravo for William to include Diana. I think it's the only ballsy thing he's ever done. I love the name Charlotte though I think Philippa would have been equally appropriate. I still protest that we already have a great Charlotte in Monaco. Elizabeth, no offense, yawn and so predictable. Alice is gross, just gross and sounds way too common for a princess. That's my opinion. Makes me think of Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit (a decent song, especially in Arabic on American Hustle's soundtrack) but a drug song nevertheless.

pretty obvious name choice. I guess including both parents in the choice of name sort of balances the tackiness of Diana. lets just be honest we would have disliked Albert for over idolizing his mom and to me the same goes for Will. True he was younger when she died, but he clearly forgot her scheming and what she put her kids through. I liked the way they chose Georges names, but clearly this little girl is overburdened with having to honor 3 people before even getting the chance to become one in her own right and by her own choices and on her own terms. Hard enough to grow up with public scrutiny, no need to add on extra baggage. Hopefully there will be at least another follow up kid so she get's a bit of the spotlight taken away from her.

What about the concept that Will is "rubbing it into" Camilla's horse-face?

I don't think it was done to spite Camilla. She seems to be getting on with both sons ok given the circumstances. Also I don't think it was meant to anger Charles. The order would have been different in that case. I actually think that it was Charlotte first because he always said he wanted a girl and now a granddaughter and he winged about not seeing George enough. So I suppose it worked. Lets see if he gets to see her more. In any case one could argue that the names were chosen to honor the most important people in his life. But apart from Charlotte being Pippas middle name (and they could always say it was for her) I think it is a very Will choice of names. Kate just doesn't seem to play a role in it. all in all the names all are fine, but I wish they would have chosen less loaded names. Let her have her own story and create her own history. Growing up in that family is tough enough. She might save Cameron his job though. And one thing is sure: there won't be much attention for the baptism as I suspect they will soon be publishing a cute pic of George and his new sister...

Love the irony. It's clear he was very affected by his mother's passing and definitely, he has some Spencer in him to make that grand gesture. Interestingly, Will's Spencer niece has the exact same name. (Can't say originality runs in that family... ahem cough cough) Yeah he totally did out of revenge and not for loving his dead mother omg.

This is fascinating. Maybe Albert should take a page. There are apparently negotiations underway in the contract between William and Kate, about how many public duties are expected of her to satisfy the court and the British people. She is apparently happy to be just a stay-at-home wife. Like she waited, got the ring, popped the heir and spare and will probably just work on getting fat and being sedentary. "Prickly Princess" or the common middle-class ambitions fulfilled

Prince William described Charlotte as “lady-like” and George as “lively” today at an event in Cambridge. — Victoria Murphy (twitter)
How can a seven month old baby behave lady-like? LOL

It's more or less the same trashy described her daughter "behaves like a princess" and the famous "doesn't take a no for an answer" lol. Looks like royals don't know how to say cute things about babies without trying to look as if their babies are marvelous lol

Seems the interest in the MC duo has tapered off. I might start following these Brits more!
