Unpaid social charges a growing problem Wednesday, 01 June 2011 10:07 Ian Brodie The CCSS, Caisses sociales de Monaco, recorded 704 cases of non-payment of social contributions last year – leading to legal cases - compared to 670 in 2009, the office’s director said yesterday. A total sum of €2,400,000 was recuperated in 2009, a figure that rose to €2,750,000 in 2010. Eleven cases were heard yesterday at the criminal court in Monaco. Michael Bonnet, the prosecutor, said that the economic crisis was one reason for non-payment. Sometimes, he said, it was a case of bad financial planning that caused delinquencies in payment, rather than a lack of funds.

I walked into the cathedral to see what the new organ looked like. I walked half way to the altar, turned around, looked upwards... and... oh scandal, shocking, true horror!!! Never seen such fugly pipe organ in my life!!! Not anywhere, ever!!! If they thought the one that was there before was bad, this one is a total failure! Who the heck had the last word on choosing this instrument is a total heretic and should be locked up for the rest of his/her life. For one it looks cheap, disproportioned and 'bling' as can be. I guess it will fit the new Monaco 'post wedding' image perfectly well. Another disaster! Unfortunately this one will be there to stay. At least for a number of years. I will have to snap a few pictures and post them. Maybe tomorrow. Will have a difficult time looking at that "thing" through the lens but it has to be done. I will make sure to circulate the pictures in the right circles. They will be horrified!

My friend just came back from MC and was "shocked" to see the new organ. Please if you can post a pix. I am so curious to see the "monster". Too bad, everything in MC seems to be replace with maybe more expensive but cheaper version of the original. PS to whom ever made the decision know that more $$ does not always mean better quality. You should have gone with a classic. JMO

I was in Monaco Ville late this afternoon and went by the cathedral with the camear but by the time I got there the gates were closed. Fuuuu.... that nightmarish new organ!! well... there's always next time. Will go up there again some time this coming week. About the Centenary Mass with the Berlioz, the orchestra and choirs, I had it all wrong and mixed up iwth something else. It will be next Saturday at 8.00 PM. I will definitely boycott as a sign of protest. Barsi dégage!

I just read that habitat will be sold. Monaco has been putting high hopes on the stores of Nike and Habitat. They were supposed to revive a certain area of Monaco which is struggling for a long number of years. Albert was at the opening of the shops. I remember it vividly as they had a lawn in front for the opening and the next day it was in the rubbish containers. I don't think that habitat was very profitable in Monaco. I only went there for the sales and got some nice things. Other then that I found them rather overpriced, but at the end of the sales they were good to stock up on small gifts and give aways for a reasonable price. NOt sure what will happen to the MC shop, but it certainly is another draw back.

Paca, what kind of store was habitat?
Wow, several stores/restaurants/clubs that Albert inaugurated since his reign have now closed down But, don't worry Monaco, come Friday when Charlene Wittstock becomes Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco all your misfortunes will change and Monaco will be prosperous again. Princess Charlene has big plans for Monaco - a Starbucks, a Manolo Blahnik shoe store and fashion shows - with her as the center of attention. Of course this is ludicrous, but this is exactly what the Village Idiot of Monaco - Albert - allowed his advisor to convince him that marrying this bimbo was the solution to Monaco's image and financial woes.

habitat is a British company. Furniture and living accessories. Was pretty hip for some time...they have 33 shops in France which will all be sold. They will try to keep the brand alive in the internet.
So this one is not Albert's fault, but it will add to the list of things that didn't work out.

Guess he fits right in. Shady people - sunny place. All you need to do is to put a fence around that place and keep all of them there for good.
