Yes, the prime minister said she will be a Queen. Could you imagine if not, her ego would explode. He will be a plain King, meh..

Apparently, Beatrix's mother had also abdicated. It's something of a family tradition... It's admirable to let the next generation take over in their prime, and to leave on a high note. I'm not a fan of any Bilderbergers though, let it be said.

Dutch Banana-Monarchy, part 39807875.7: AFAIK, when Wax and Max got married, government decided that Max's title would be decided and discussed at the time it became relevant. Somehow I missed the memo that it was decided otherwise (no doubt in a backroom with some royals present) between then and now. Oh well, Dutch politics... To be honest, I find this whole king/queen business confusing. Why should the wife of a king be called a queen and the hubby of a queen (just) a prince(-consort)? I thought we were living in an equal opportunity society these days. I find it absurd that prince Philip has to bow to queen Maximal because she ranks "higher" in the royal pecking order. Because she doesn't. Original here if someone wants to practise their Dutch: www.telegraaf.nl/troonsafstand-beatrix/21299872/__Rutte_weer_de_fout_in__.html

The person who has a legitimate right to the title has to have inherited it down the bloodline (or across, as in Arab royalty) or as in medieval times, you conquered a place through your very efforts. I think "consort" is fair. I don't think commoners have the right of instant membership and as commoners proud of being ordinary, it's hypocritical to expect your cake and eat it too.

There's now a PS to this story: Dutch prime minister Rutte has said that queen is just a form of address and not a title so there's no need to change the law. That statement a) casts a doubt on Bea's queeness? and b) is extremely lame. Why would he know better than people who have actually studied law? Having read the whole article, I still think they have a point. This particular law got changed in 2001 and whatever they called the wifes of Willem I through III isn't relevant anymore. Beheading used to be a common practice, but that doesn't happen anymore. Traditions and habits change through time. Plus I would love to see Max not becoming queen, the title is the crown on her golddigging succes story and it would be interesting (and telling) if she'd divorce out of pure fury for not getting the title. What I thnk is interesting, how people don´t see her as golddigger, because she comes from a wealthy family. But her dumb and smug expression says it all.

Peter de Wit (Dutch cartoonist) draws Sigmund (the psychiatrist). So far this week his cartoons were all royaly-minded. www.sigmund.nl/ Under the cartoon on the right are the days of the week: ma (Monday), di (Tuesday) etc. Click on the day and see the cartoon. They are only available for a week so hurry! Translation: Monday:- The coronation festivities take place on The IJ. - That's right. (Girl shows sign saying "Away with the monarchy!") - But that means that the royal couple will be so far away that they can't read my sign! - Erm. - For me the party has already been ruined. Tuesday:- Doc, I am against the monarchy. - You are a republican. - No, I enjoy the pomp and cirumstance and the centuries' old traditions very much. - And I think Willem-Alexander and Maxima are a lovely couple. - Maybe I prefer to be in favour of the monarchy. Wednesday:Banner reads: Away with the monarchy. -Do you already know if we may hang the banner in the Nieuwe Kerk? (where the abdication/coronation/investiture will take place) - Hey, you would arrange that, wouldn't you? Thursday:- The safety measures surrounding the succession on April 30th are pretty severe. - I wanted to buy a tea light holder and now I am here. Friday:- Halt! You are urinating against the Royal Palace! You will get a fine for urinating in public and damaging a national monument. - Of course not, officer. - I pee on the monarchy. - Oh, in that case, I'll join you. - What a relief, isn't it?

He's at it again!
This time it's Wax visiting. Follow the same link as above and here's the translation:
Monday: - Goodday. - Eh... hello. - You are wearing a plastic bag over your head. - That's right, I'm incognito. - I will succeed my mother soon as a CEO of a small kingdom.
Tuesday: - You may call me Van Buren, dr. Sigmund. - Your true identity is safe with me, mr. Van Buren. - As a medical practitioner I'm bound to a strict act of privacy. Just a moment, I'll go and lock the door. * Sign next to door reads Dr. Sigmund Royal purveyor since 2013*
Wednesday: - Firstly, I would like to know how you are insured, Mr. Van Buren. - Silver cross. - In view of my family history I also have a four-star extra-plus supplementary insurance covering extensive psychological assistance. - Right. - If you are who I think you are, you would have done better to take the additional dental insurance. - My wife nags me about that too.
Note from translator: W. A. Van Buren is Wax's infamous alias. It was the name he used while skating the 11 cities tour and probably for other undercover activities.

I did not know who he was. I saw the news on another web page. He seems to be a very strange dude. I looked him up and this is what I found. Dutch Prince Friso dies after 2012 avalanche Johan Friso, the bespectacled Dutch prince who avoided the limelight and gave up his position in line to the throne after getting entangled in a scandal with his bride-to-be, died Monday _ 18 months after a skiing accident that left his brain gravely injured. He was 44. more here: www.theeagle.com/news/world/article_a3ed5f3a-c2ae-5716-beda-61946aba3ad3.htmland this: THE STATEMENT BY THE LAWYER ABOUT CRIMINALS THAT SATANIC MURDER-PERFORMANCES FOR THE ' ELITE ' OF THE NETHERLANDS. ALSO PRINCE FRISO IS CALLED! DESCRIPTION IS SUPPORTED BY FACTS * AGREEMENTS WITH FILE-DUTROUX I have a few martel-and murder performances personally – at the invitation of the ' zwaarcriminelen ' – attended. I am eye-witness of the presence of Johan Friso and coke-Lady Mabel Wisse Smit in doing so and I have a lot of administrative public figures (even current ministers and a member of the 2nd room) in doing so, recognized. more: www.microsofttranslator.com/bv.aspx?from=&to=en&a=http://olympiczion.nl/index.php/rituele-moordvoorstellingen-in-nl-door-hooggeplaatsten/... Cannot believe how anyone would be so stupid to idolize any Royal house. Centuries of abuse, slavery, perversities and stealing money off the people. The French did something good.

I believe the whole world is getting fed up with the lack of accountability and continued loss of morals. The royals are out of control.

I honestly don't get why the death of a young family father would trigger these kind of reactions. I think some people on this board have lost their sense of what is appropriate and what isn't. They criticise royals harshly, but when it comes to common human decency they fall incredibly short. I don't think at this point it is in any way appropriate to sling mud and judge a person on rumors, especially when admitting that one doesn't even know who the deceased was. No one is asking to sing his praise, but in my upbringing was included that at certain points in life it is better to remain silent, when one hasn't got anything nice to say. There are 2 little girls who lost their father and whose last memory of him is seeing him for 18 months connected to machines. If anything some compassion for them is required. what's the use of running to church and preaching a holier than thou catholiscism when there seems to be a complete lack of human kindness and compassion. Some people should refrain from considering themselves Christian IMO

My condolences to the children and family of Prince Friso. May they have fond memories of him and his life.
