This Vanity Fair article is basically a guide on how to be a better gold digger and media-whore, which is perfect for Charlene! But, this article is insulting to women. What is so ironic because the suggestions that they make or already things that Charlene has done. It's a clear that this reporter has no idea who the real Charlene is. My two favorite piece of advice is that Charlene should make friends with the press (so she can give them her secrets so that they can pass them on sympathetically in her favor) and that she can do motivational speaking as Dana Torres who earned $40,000 a speech. They also rave how she Charlene can easily do modeling or be a global ambassador for any of the high end brands such as Chanel or Armani. Oh I hope the bird brain listens to them and is deluded enough to think that she will be something without Albert’s money and title. Oh please bird-brain listen to them. Let’s see how long she can eat off her proceeds from motivational speaking. Seriously, I find this Vanity Fair article rather demeaning because basically they are treating Charlene as if she is a mindless bimbo who is not in control of her life and was forced to date and them marry Albert. They are forgetting that Charlene entered in this marriage and worse lived off all Albert waiting just for this what she got last week.
Advice for the New Royal Bride, H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco
By Emma Gilbey Keller July 5, 2011
She got out! Her Serene Highness, Princess Charlene of Monaco, finally managed to board a plane and get herself to South Africa, arriving in Durban this very morning, albeit accompanied by her new husband, Prince Albert.
After endless, ugly weekend rumors that the bride had been apprehended as she tried to run away not once but three times before her Friday wedding, the video of her sobbing at the altar while immaculately dressed in Armani Privé seemed tragic. If she wasn’t distraught at the news that her groom faces a couple of new paternity tests, post-honeymoon, she certainly looked it. Her beautifully made-up face rarely cracked a smile, and when it did, looked tight and strained. As for Prince Albert’s stuttering, unromantic toast? “Charlene, thank you for putting up—er—with my busy schedule, with my—uh—absences sometimes, with my—er, uh—inconsistencies and my—uh—idiosyncracies.” Good grief! Who wrote those lines? His governess?!
So where do you go from here, Charlene? Cheer up. Anywhere you want—that’s where! Dry your tears, Madame Monaco, the world can now be your oyster. To set you on your way, you need Team Charlene. Start by putting together a tight-knit support group to get you settled into your new life, either as a bride or as a divorcee—the choice, really, is yours. Back in the last century, when another famous princess struggled with overbearing courtiers and an unfaithful husband, she collected an ill-fitting coterie of masseuses and clairvoyants to buck her up and give her advice. You’re not Diana, of course. You’re older and have been successful in your own right. And this is then, not now.[?] You need the pros. Get yourself a lawyer, an agent or two, someone to help you with P.R., and then maybe, just for the heck of it, a realtor. Aside from the palace, wouldn’t it be nice to have a place you can call your own?
Here’s the guidance for developing Team Charlene:
1. Lawyers. We went straight to the top—because you can. First on our list is Michele Cahen. She handled the divorce of Nicolas and Cecilia Sarkozy, discreetly representing la femme in that case. We are not recommending divorce, but we do suggest you find out your legal situation and make sure you have someone looking after your own interests. After all, if you do want to leave the country on your own, we think you should be allowed to. Another legal name for you to consider is David Koubbi. He’s currently in the French headlines representing the French writer Tristane Banon, who has declared she’ll file a sexual-assault suit against Dominique Strauss-Kahn in Paris later today. To give you a sense of Koubbi’s legal style, his client announced her intentions to the magazine L’Express. Can you imagine how that strategy would go down with the old guard in Monte Carlo? You’re already smiling, aren’t you?
2. You need an agent. Making your own money will obviously guarantee your independence and empowerment. Yay! We have a couple of suggestions here. You might consider modeling, because, well, you can. You looked lovely in the Chanel and Armani outfits you wore to your various weekend ceremonies, and we can see you as a global ambassador for either of those brands. Agency-wise, the best fit might be IMG World (“a global sports, fashion, and media business”), whose subsidiary IMG Models represents Gisele Bündchen, Heidi Klum, and Lily Aldridge, among other big names. Elite and Ford both have offices in Paris that would also be well able to handle interest in you.
But you might also consider public speaking. Olympic swimming gold medalist Dara Torres gets around $40,000 per motivational speech, with “private aviation preferred.” She’s at the Lavin Agency in New York. If you want to feel more connected to South Africa, the American Program Bureau (A.P.B.) in Massachusetts represents Desmond Tutu.
3. Make friends with the press. It’s good to have one or two confidantes you can tell your secrets to before having them passed on to the rest of the world sympathetically. Princess Di had Richard Kay, and then Andrew Morton. (By the way, she was also brilliant at tipping off her favorite hacks when doing a homeless visit, or a sad gym workout.) So if you’re off to the market or the beach, let us know!
4. Finally, how about a little pied-à-terre in Paris, New York, and/or Cape Town? Again, we went straight to the top, assuming money’s not too much of an object for you. At Sotheby’s International RealtyWeb site you can house-hunt in any country you can get to. So click on the link and dream of your bolt holes. Happiness is just a runway away.

Well, the palace released again a denial to all claims, including the ones by VSD about the paternity suits. They said they may take legal actions - Oh please do! They are expressing outrage at the media for following this ridiculous rumors - oh please do make the media your enemies! Read the AFP article in french here.
Prince and Princess of Monaco: the Palace again indignantly against the "false information"
by AFP 8 July 2011
MONACO - The Palace of Monaco was again denied on Thursday evening of information reported by French newspapers this week about a dispute within the royal couple before the wedding, threatening to continue in the future those who propagate these "false information".
"Following the false claims disseminated by persistent VSD and France Soir, the Palace would like to reiterate that the facts are without foundation and is outraged that media groups continue to publish false information," says a Palace statement.
"The Palace now intends to give legal consequences if such things were still required," he says again.
VSD, in its Friday edition, reaffirms in particular, as suggested by the site of L'Express a few days before the wedding, as Charlene in Monaco had tried to escape just before marriage with Albert II.
While traveling in South Africa, the Prince and Princess of Monaco, who is a citizen of South Africa offered a lavish reception Thursday near Durban to nearly 500 guests.
Number of local dignitaries were on hand, alongside the IOC members, including Albert II is a member, who had appointed the day before the South Korean city of Pyeongchang to host the 2018 Winter Olympics.
Wednesday, the second day of their stay, both honeymoon and business trip, the royal couple had lunch with the South African President Jacob Zuma.
Friday, Charlene was to meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu, one of the great figures of the anti-apartheid struggle and participate in charitable operations.
Charlene Hosting in South Africa has silenced the gossips, local newspapers having so far largely focused on rumors of an attempt to return home the young woman before marriage.
Sources close to the organization of marriage in Monaco have confirmed that there had been a quack just before the wedding and Albert was the subject of an application for recognition of paternity came from an alleged conquest.

The problem with all this is that PA EXPECTED bad press/reactions. He has said repeatedly that because his mother was such an icon that when he got married it would "be very very difficult". As in people are going to give his fiancee/bride a hard time. What he doesn't see is that he is the only one who has an awe of his mother left. People didn't give Kate a hard time because she didn't look and act like Diana. So much time has passed that this issue really doesn't exist- it is only in his mind.. I think the REAL issue is that he has a strong defense mechanism- and that is why he constantly chose women who were inappropriate because otherwise if the women were accepted then it would show his mother wasn't "irreplacable" and he would have to face her loss in a way personally that he hasn't had to before, in a sense part of her dying again- probably too traumatic for him! I think dating, and marrying an inappropriate woman was a way for him to keep his mother on a pedestal- keep her alive in a way in his heart and mind, instead of letting her go completely. The problem is it would be very easy for someone with sinister motives to push someone on him scheming his destruction and then when it wasn't working out go - oh well you know how difficult things were going to be, and rather than stop and assess what was going on, he would swallow it because it fits his defense mechanism/need, it would fit his expectations. The problem is if it was just comparison, the new woman could win people over in time, but in this case she's so inappropriate it's only going to get worse and by the time her realizes it...

Marriage Rumors "are completely constructed"
08 July 2011
The rumors about a marital crisis between Albert of Monaco and his wife Charlene is not tapered off. Now the first time Prince has commented on the rumors. He is indignant and denied.
Prince Albert of Monaco, the rumors about problems in his marriage to Charlene and rejected this "constructed" as fully described. "This is all just to bring our marriage to falter, it is very unjust," he said in the South African city of Durban, where the 53-year-olds attending the General Assembly of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
"I do not understand what is going on, because it's all completely constructed," said Albert. "It's easy for me to talk about it because it's all also totally refuted," he added. Speculation had it not true of his work at the IOC meeting dissuaded, ran a honeymoon but do not expect quite so, how.
The French magazine L'Express had reported last week that Charlene would "escape" just before the wedding. The palace in Monaco, but this was denied. The 33-year-old former swimmer from South Africa and Albert were in Durban on Thursday celebrated another wedding party, after they had last weekend in Monaco where church for their wedding.
L'Express is usually serious and do not work with rumors, said the prince. The magazine spoke of three sources."But I do not know who they are." After the conclusion of the IOC meeting in South Africa with his wife he would spend a few days in the area. "Then we can relax."

What puzzles me is: If all those reports are totally false why don't they sue the paper? Sue them for pain and suffering money. (That would finance their planned Charlene Foundation.) They did that before for lesser causes. Instead they are giving interviews and blowing kisses to prove those rumors false. Are they afraid to sue because of the outcome? It seems they play out to find the sources themselves to hand out hush money.

Are there no CONTRACEPTIVES available at all in Monaco ? That's what bother me the most. Also it has been said that misogynist tendencies are inherited. No, I do not think Charlene is being held against her will. I just feel sorry for her having married into this awful family.

Perhaps it is an arrangemnt, perhaps not. It would not be the first and she certainly is NOT the first woman to live off a man. Jacqueline Bouvier was paid more than 1million dollars to stay with JFK in the fifties but we never hear anyone calling her a prostitute. Women like Mary Donaldson and others who sold themselves, their families, their nationalities and religions for a "title and a tiara" could also be called prostitutes. IMO Miss Wittstock has behaved with more dignity than all of them put together.

She was, to put in 1950's terms, "well-bred". NOT TO MENTION SHE WAS FLUENT IN FRENCH. Well educated. She did what all society girls did back then. She adored her father-in-law and he lavished money on her. You do not understand the society in which Jacqueline Kennedy grew up. Trust me I DO! She did not spend five years living with JFK hoping he would marry her and taking a stipend to do so. Please educate yourself and start by looking up the term mistress or "Kept woman". You are most certainly entitled to your opinion but please check your facts before you go off on someone like Jacqueline Kennedy.

blue j ! I have the same feeling. They wanted to show the world she is no calculating plastic gold digger but human - and a "strong personality" ( ;D if so she would be long gone ;D) It seems staged because it doesn't make sense! She is her own hostage but not of Albert or French police. Why did the S.A. ambassy in Paris didn't help her? WHy didn't she bord the airplane? If her passport + ticket are valid and no snow in her bag nothing and no one can stop her. Has it ever occurred to anyone that Charlene was at the SA embassy to complete any process that she has to for her Monaco citizenship? It is so ridiculous to believe that Charlene was forced to marry Albert and has been held against her will for the last month - a woman who has been traveling back and for the to four countries just in the last month. Well typically if you are going to get citizenship in a country that does not allow dual citizenship (e.g. Monaco), you are required to renounce your citizenship at the nearest embassy. She could very well have been doing that- but why on earth wouldn't the palace just say so, that would probably endear her to the Monagasque if she had already done that... I don't think anyone in SA would hold it against her, I mean everyone understands the Princess of Monaco has to renounce her citizenship so that there is no conflict of interest. At the very least she would have to do that immediately following the civil ceremony when she legally becomes Princess.

Has anyone perhaps changed their minds and maybe believe that perhaps all these runaway stories and paternity tests all vicious rumors designed as all of the four above stated is to destroy their wedding. Are they going to tell us that we all are blind and they LOOK happy and in love also? Part of me believes the rumors are made up in the sense that she was living at the palace until what 3 days before the wedding. That thing is a citadel with sheer cliffs with a very few exits-all of which are covered by numerous guards. I seriously doubt in these days of terrorism that she would ever be allowed to just walk out of the palace without a body guard. I mean you are one of the guys on guard and you see her walking out alone- it's your head, you call for someone to go with her... On top of that if she was so upset she was going to run, Albert would probably suspect that and assign a minder. So when you consider all that, it makes sense that the rumors couldn't be true... However The problem with the rumors is as was pointed out, the reactions don't mesh with the stated denials. In fact not just the weird lack of sympatico between them, but Albert's very denials sound false... If he REALLY believes that someone not only spread rumors that his bride tried to escape- a HUGE insult not only to him but his people, AND that the rumors were *deliberately* crafted to bring his marriage down or prevent it, for those reasons alone he should be hopping mad to the point of rage, not to mention the money it probably cost the principality and him personally. In his responses he just sounds kinda confused- not even really hurt.... the way he's stating the denial, is not matching the words of the denial. AdminNote: Fixed quotes

Catholics also don't allow outdoor masses, don't live together outside of marriage or sleep together before marriage. They also don't abandon or have illegitimate children, support Kaballah or approve of certain secret sects that Albert just let into the Principality. Need I go on? Albert is Catholic in name only.
