In keeping with the bad karma that has been attached to EVERYTHING that Albert and Charlene touched since the wedding, this article describes how right before their civil wedding began, French media tuned into the Dominique Strauss-Kahn (DSK) case unfolding in New York. How’s that for timing! The following are my favorite two comments from the article because this is so true and Albert should have known this when they actually thought that this marriage was going to be a big image and economic boost for Monaco. News requires the marriage of Albert and Charlene finds himself confined to the section celebrities, jet setters and showbiz. . Here’s the best comment because we Royal Opinioners stated all along that this wedding/marriage will make Albert and Monaco the laughing stock of the world: Most columnists joked yesterday about the French marriage. Read the article in French from 24Heures (I love the photo they chose for the article):
The marriage of Albert sealed by the case DSK
At a time when the civil ceremony started, the cameras were trained on New YorkBy AJ 6 July 2011 Despite the measures taken by the Rock to the marriage of Albert and Charlene glamorous event that all television should be to retransmit the festival has not had the impact expected. The twists of the case Dominique Strauss-Kahn have relegated the festivities Monaco in the background.
Bad luck for Grimaldi, who had already had great difficulty in selling the broadcasting rights of royal wedding. Added to the rumors about the moods of Charlene few days before the ceremony, the artificial nature of the event has taken precedence over the glamor. The Principality relied heavily on the celebrations that continue today with the religious ceremony attended by 4000 guests to attract tourists and improve its image. The well-oiled communications plan has already undergone a series of failures. News requires the marriage of Albert and Charlene finds himself confined to the section celebrities, jet setters and showbiz. The movement of the couple publicized concert of The Eagles, on the eve of his wedding, was not enough to erase the image of monarchy operetta. Specialists of the Rock hold just Albert II is more rock and roll than was his father.
Most columnists joked yesterday about the French wedding. Maintained the suspense surrounding the civil ceremony by the tabloids ended yesterday, shortly after 17 pm At 17 h 20, between a dispatch dedicated to Syrian refugees and another on Yemen, Agence France Presse reported, with "urgent", "Prince Albert II of Monaco, 53, married civilly Friday South African Charlene Wittstock, 33, thus became the Princess of Monaco, Charlene. The New York Post reveals the atmosphere of the wedding from a guest who attended - and it is not good. I was surprised to hear the guest say that most in Monaco really do not trust Charlene, however, as we always said Charlene can just continuing to pinch herself that the only person who cared did trust her - Albert the Village Idiot of Monaco. I am sure we will find that many of the guests that Albert and Charlene invited found this wedding/marriage to be a hot mess. It also tells you that they are surrounded by a lot of people who smile and grin in their faces, but in reality find them to be a bunch of buffoons. Everyone is not going to be as blunt as Sarkozy and actually voice what they really feel! Below are excerpts from the article, you can read the full article, which provides background info, at New York Post.
The prisoner princess

When Charlene Wittstock walked down the aisle in Monaco on her wedding day, she had something old — a groom 20 years her senior — and something new: a custom-made gown by Giorgio Armani Privé. But as she stood at the altar, it became readily apparent that the “something blue” was, very possibly, Wittstock herself.
Wittstock — succeeding the late Grace Kelly to become Her Serene Highness of Monaco — began to weep. As she dabbed away the tears rolling down her cheeks, Prince Albert of Monaco, her betrothed, looked annoyed.
Wittstock’s tears did not look like the happy tears of a blushing bride.
Instead, they looked like a cry for help.
“The expression on Charlene’s face seemed so forced at many points during the nuptials,” says a wedding guest who spoke to The Post on the condition of anonymity.
“People were saying that it was one of those weddings where, in 10 years time, the bride will confess on TV that she thought it was all a huge mistake, but she was overwhelmed and felt she had no choice but to go through with it.”
With good reason. The extravagant July 2 church wedding of Prince Albert, 53, to the 33-year-old Wittstock, a South African former Olympic swimmer, capped a dramatic week in which it was reported that the bride had allegedly tried to escape Monaco — and had her had her passport seized by police following rumors that her fiancé had fathered a third illegitimate child, possibly during their courtship.
...
“There was relief that the bride went through with it; some were insisting until right before the service started that she would get cold feet,” says the wedding guest. “There was an expression being bandied about [at the wedding] in relation to Charlene which cited her swimming background: ‘Elle nage completement.’ She’s all at sea.”
So why did Wittstock go through with the $88 million affair?
Several European newspapers have reported that “an arrangement” was worked out between Wittstock and Albert after the bride returned to the palace.
...
“Most of the Monaco glitterati don’t trust her,” says the anonymous wedding guest. “And it’s not helped by the fact that when they say her name, it sounds like they’re saying ‘Charlie!’ ”
...
“The wedding was a lavish show but rather a messy business,” concludes the wedding guest.
“A happily ever after scenario would be a nice surprise.”

Saw this NY Post article also, MyaDia. I noted that it was in the entertainment section, not news. The media trend seems to be that Albert 'forced' Charlene to marry him. Monaco in this article and others, comes off barbaric and from another century; not a fun or glamourous place that you want to go to for a vacation. The problem for Albert is that most people are not going to believe that he is so stupid that he married a conniving con artist; this is Charlene's greatest strength, no one is going to believe that after 5 or 10 years, Albert couldn't figure out what she was up to. So Charlene comes off as a victim and Albert comes off as an abusive man. Plus, I think that if it is proven that Albert sired one or two more illegitimate children, people's opinion of him is sealed. Whoever encouraged this wedding and the over-the-top publicity to shine the spotlight on Albert, has doomed Albert. Even if he stays on the throne, he has zero stature.
Question: Before the wedding and over the past five years, Albert has been jetting around accepting awards from every organization that you can think of. Do you think that people will ignore this disaster and all the new info on Albert and keep inviting him? Will Albert simply have to stay in Monaco and attempt to do his job because no one else wants him around?
Will Charlene figure out that with all her stunts that she 'killed the golden goose' by irreparably harming Albert and Monaco's reputations?

Will Charlene figure out that with all her stunts that she 'killed the golden goose' by irreparably harming Albert and Monaco's reputations? Charlene has inked the deal. All she has to do is play poor me for 5 years and cash in the retirement package. I'm pretty sure Albert's lawyer the "venerable" LaCoste make sure to screw him by putting in a poison pill if he calls the deal off so Charlene will benefit even more. Or he was stupid enough not to get a "non-compete" clause where she can't go around using the title or any thing else, not to mention refraining from tell-all books. Yup I bet Albert is totally screwed. Charlene is not interested in Albert or Monaco. She, like the other corrupted officials, is only interested in gutting Albert's bank account and Monaco's. If she were interested in Monaco she would have learned French and had more than two friends. Caroline is not going to be amused at this press and Stephanie will be hurt. Actually the key to getting rid of her might just be Stephanie. She's the one person Albert will protect against the world. So perhaps Stephanie might be the one to get rid of her. Let's hope?

But I think that the dye is cast for Albert. No matter what he does, his reputation is damaged. If he throws Charlene out, then he is still a jerk for making this poor woman marry him and then he abandons her. If he comes forward and admits that Charlene duped him, he looks like an idiot. So getting rid of Charlene, while good, does nothing to help Albert regain any of his reputation. Add to that the potential of more illegitimate babies and he just looks like an idiot cad.
MyaDia has opined repeatedly that the truth will come out eventually and I agree with her. The problem right now is only partial truth has been revealed. That being that this wedding was no love match, but instead only a business deal. The truth about Charlene and her con game and the people in the palace that helped her execute it is still hidden.
And considering the amount of money that was spent on this travesty, it is as Countess would say, a big PR FAIL.

He better make sure WC doesn't commit suicide in the near future ...everyone would think that he killed her to get rid of her. I guess the only safe thing for him is to continue kipping her locked in the castle/dungeon and take her out only for the photo op. but not before he serves her with a couple of lines of white powder...as usual.

Most of us here stated this over and over again - this wedding will doom both Albert and Monaco. We also stated that Albert always have to learn the hard way - but this time he will take down his entire country with him. Well, it depends on how convincing they are in having everyone to thinks that Charlene trying to flee story is a big fat lie. But, once those paternity test come in - he's a has-been and I doubt if he can receive an award from Moanco! Please remember that Charlene is a narcissistic sociopath and she has received a tremendous amount of support in the form of sympathy in the press. Please see this post that I made about Vanity Fair's advice to Charlene - which they all calling Team Charlene. Most of their advice is assuming all the lies that the palace has manufactured and the press has promoted about Charlene. This woman is such a dumb narcissist that she might really believe that she CAN do without Albert and her title. Lord, please make my day and let this girl think that. I'll even go to her first speech which Vanity Fair believes that she can do as one possibility for a living and earn at least 40,000 as Dana Torres can. Most in the media who are now on Team Charlene really do not know the real Charlene - a high school dropout who cannot string together a three-word sentence and who came to Monaco with a bet up suitcases full of trashy clothes and - scheme. Vanity Fair is even comparing her to Diana.

Who in their right, thinking mind really BELIEVES Charlene was not able to leave! She was"shopping" in France - Paris and Nice - she bragged how she takes runs to the beach in France several time a week. She has enough money to take a TAXI just about anywhere. For her to say the SA Embassy turned her away is nonsense. The whole story is so full of holes it's ridiculous. his is 2011 - not 1956! There is INSTANT NEWS, TEXTING, CELLS PHONES, CAMERAS, BLOGS (She could have blogged US - HELP!!) How about standing in the middle of the street in Paris and screaming HELP! She would have gotten plenty of attention and she would NOT have been held a prisoner against her will. And if they threatened her family, etc., she could have stated that very publicly as well! It's so ridiculous I can't even believe I wasting my time thinking about it! If the press buys it for now, it's only because they know there will be an even bigger story when the truth comes out. Even if it that she told this tale so she's look less like the con she is and maybe get sympathy - or attention - or both. If she were in Iran or Yemen or another Middle East country - okay - but FRANCE! Please!

I can imagine her: she has lots of big bags after shopping, sun glasses in her head, and suddenly she realizes the worst....her credit card has reach the top....so she looks at the sky and screams "HEEEELLPPP!!" lol. (i know is silly, i just had to do it...probably she has an extension Al's credit card without limits, but still...)

Temporary: I watched the video of her tears again, even twice: I see her right eye crying but the left eye is almost unaffected! true!!! She turns her face to her left with a waterfall out of her right eye looking on Albert who blaffs anything to her (which sounds like "Enough now!") and looks away: that is the culmination point of Charlene crying and exactly the picture the media catched up. I would say -judging from this picture and without watching the video again and again and ingsee how the tears started - that she was really crying and didn't pay attention to the left eye! Even I thought (at least) the tears were real. But her nose is all right and her left eye seems to be almost dry. Maybe that's why Albert didn't really notice her crying and that explains his "coldness" - or he already knew this kind of "fake" tears? AND: When I feel that I soon might start to cry soon and don't want tears running down my face I FIRST get out a tissue -just in case. The more when I would be in public! Then I would use the tissue to dry the first tears and try to pull myself together, swallowing tears - I wouldn't even try to stop them with my bare fingers! Right Temporary - good observation! Charlene had her fingertips on the inside of her right eye very long - with her head down: if I don't want tears which are already in the eye falling out the eye I don't put my head down. Isn't it almost a reflex to lift your head a bit when you feel like crying and don't want to? I remember to have seen this very often - eyes get a little red and glassy, then the nose might change the colour a bit, the nose goes a little up, the person tries to "swallow" the tears and ... if it doesn't work the tears run down. Looking down, not getting a tissue out but putting your finger (in?/ on?) the eye and next having a waterfall of tears from ONE eye is a little unusual - agree... Yes, it makes Albert appear cold to her. But this game will only backfire on her ... it already started. Most papers are not like "the poor victim" but like "oh, two new paternity tests! she tried to flee! ooooh! it is said she took money to stay! OOOOHHHH! A business deal! No love story!!!" = 65 Mio $ spend for titles like "The bought bride" worldwide-WOW!!! Just a guess: Maybe they both wanted/ want to be released from that marriage and try to come out soon: Albert by fooling around and fathering children and Charlene by embarrassing him in the eyes of the world? If it is true that Charlene was picked and payed from the very start and during all those years - and many facts speak in favour of that she was build up with huge money and effort to be - first his "official companion" (he is a head of state now and should show up with always the same woman to appear more serious) - then his fiancée ( to make a one-year-long advertising-campain on Monaco Charlene) and then his wife (to boost the economy -how - and Monaco's image HOW ) it might well be that it was not Albert but the "team/Stahl" behind this "fairy-tale" story who made Charlene sign a contract before investing that much money in her, making her flag ship of the "wedding-PR-project" and putted her under pressure to go through the ceremonies (Albert might have known or maybe not - and learned the details about the deal only now, after the S.A. embassy-story or Charlene trying to get out of this ect. - we know he doesn't care too much for details and delegates work and responsibility to: for instance Stahl... and NOW he was told by third persons that Charlene is -in short- a gold digger.) ... that explains his sad face and "coldness" and ... Charlene trying to get out of this and "fired" asap - with the media on her side. Seriously: as long as it was good for her to make Albert look well (and thus Monaco) she did play the role. But now ... she is VERY upset by the things Albert has done and cares for herself: to be the victim. NOW the whole PR-advertising strategy doesn't work for Albert and Monaco and it's getting more and more obvious. OHHHH they are ALL getting the bill... for that insane nonsense... ;D And Albert needs SOON a new advisor. AdminNote: Reduced length of quoted text

www.abendblatt.de/vermischtes/article1951014/Monacos-Fuerstenpaar-feiert-Luxus-Party-ganz-in-Schwarz.htmlHere is another article -from about 20 minutes ago - saying that Charlene expressed the wish to have a party in S.A. and that there was no huge welcome prepared for her, right the opposite: people in her homeland don't care. Guest were dressed mainly "smart casual" except of the couple who showed up in black at their wedding party. Guests mainly from showbiz, VIP, politicians, royals. Where are all the team-mates and friends of Charlene??? All the "simple people" who were friend with CW in S.A. and who were not invited to Monaco??? That's very telling: it seems she didn't socialize in S.A. as she didn't in Monaco. People don't seem to warm up with her, they only suck up (and not even show up ). Albert, tell her about four new children and had two boyfriends at the same time while being engaged. Hej! Berlin's major is gay, even pretending you are bi to get rid of CW wouldn't harm your image that much than being married to Cashlene!!!

They are making a few hits in the U.S. main stream media - but not the headline that they desired. As we said - they will be the laughing stock of the world - and it is only beginning. ABC NEWS has this snobbish British royal historian making comments - so of course he puts down the Grimaldis. What's really funny is that Charlene and her flunkies bragged about how Charlene is so much better than anyone else and how she will bring class and prestige to this family is has so much BAGGAGE (her favorite word to describe the family she desperately schemed to be part of). There are videos that you can watch on their website.
Royal Honeymoon Over So Soon for Monaco's Prince Albert and Charlene Wittstock?By KATIE KINDELAN July 8, 2011
They were married in an extravagant $55 million, three-day royal wedding and are now honeymooning in South Africa, staying in an $8,000-per-night luxury suite. But, apparently, money cannot buy happiness for Prince Albert of Monaco and his new bride, Charlene Wittstock.
Prince Albert, 53, is reportedly trying to persuade his wife, 33, to stick with him a week after what should have been their fairy tale wedding.
Days before their July 2 wedding that set Monaco abuzz, news reports surfaced that Wittstock, a former Olympic swimmer for South Africa, had bolted for the airport, some reports saying as many as three times, with a one-way ticket back to South Africa. Albert already has two confirmed illegitimate children, and rumors of a third love child are now widely suspected to be behind Wittstock's escape attempts.
The U.K.'s Daily Mail reported that Wittstock is "desperate" to know whether Albert cheated on her and fathered a child during their five-year courtship.
Albert has reportedly undergone DNA tests demanded by his bride, although it's unlikely the results will be released while the couple honeymoons in South Africa for fears that Wittstock would flee while away from the constraints of her marriage in Monaco.
"When they got her into that Catholic Church and got her married, they really trapped her so far as the Catholic Church is concerned," British historian Robert Lacey toldABC News. "It would be very difficult now for her to get a divorce."
While the other royal newlyweds, Prince William and Kate Middleton, have wowed the world on their first official overseas trip abroad with their tender moments together, the body language between Monaco's new royal couple has been the opposite.
Throughout their July 2 wedding, royal watchers observed Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene, as Wittstock is now formally known, looked more like "Her Miserable Highness" than a blushing new bride.
Prince Albert had to formally ask his bride for a kiss, a request caught on camera for the world to see.
"When he goes to kiss her on their wedding day, she recoils in some way," Lacey said.
Wittstock was in tears throughout the wedding ceremony, while her husband looked on.
And the new groom might have had a sense of what was to come in their marriage when he offered his new bride not love but a tepid thank you to his bride.
"You are a wonderful, um, sometimes, um, patient woman with me," Prince Albert said in his wedding speech.
Wittstock's new husband has a notorious playboy past, having dated a string of celebrity women through the years, including U.S. actresses Brooke Shields and Gwyneth Paltrow, and supermodels Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell.
Albert has a 6-year-old son named Alexandre with a former flight attendant, and a 19-year-old daughter, Jazmin, with a U.S. real estate agent.
Under Monegasque law, because both were fathered out of wedlock, neither Alexandre nor Jazmin can become a legitimate heir to the throne, something Monaco and its royal family desperately seek.
The need for an heir raised suspicions that if an "arrangement" were reached over their nuptials, it might be that Wittstock will produce a legitimate heir for Albert in return for a lavish, royal lifestyle.
Historian Lacey, for one, questions whether Wittstock is not, instead, the latest victim of a 700-year-old curse placed on one of Albert's blood-thirsty ancestors. Family Curse to Blame?
"The monks placed a curse on the family ever since saying they will never have a happy marriage, they will always have trouble producing legitimate heirs," Lacey said. "And there'll be other tragedies and look what's happened."
In Prince Albert's family history, his mother, U.S.-born Princess Grace, endured husband Prince Rainier's philandering and then died in a car crash.
Princess Grace's eldest child, and Albert's sister, Princess Caroline, saw the father of her children killed in a speedboat accident.
There was a time when no one in Monaco imagined a royal wedding involving their prince would ever really happen.
In his bachelor days, it seemed nothing could pressure Prince Albert to tie the knot. In 2006, he told ABC's Ron Claiborne that he had no plans to marry in the "near or distant future."
"The wedding must be a relief to Monegasques," Catherine Ostler, a contributing editor to the Daily Mail, told ABC News before the royal couple said their "I dos."
"It looked like by the time a man gets to 53 you start wondering if it's ever going to happen," she added.
In addition to the infidelity questions surrounding her husband, Wittstock was also said to have been overwhelmed by preparations for the wedding, lonely because of her lack of friends in Monaco and frustrated by her failure to speak French, the official language of the tiny but wealthy European nation.
Wittstock competed in the 2000 Olympics for South Africa. She was born in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) to working-class parents: her father, Michael, is a sales manager and her mother, Lynette, a retired swim coach.

I just don't understand why ANYONE who has ever met this woman would think she could, or would ever bring any kind of class or dignity to Monaco - or ANYWHERE for that matter. She's 'WHITE TRASH" through and through - she didn't even bother to get any kind of education to try and improve herself - even after she had the time, money and perfect opportunity to do so. If she had even TRIED to learn ONE THING - show she had some kind of intellectual curiosity. But NOTHING! This whole thing is just ridiculous!
