I walked home along the port today. The Jarre structures don't look as impressive as they made out in the paper. I did not see any giant screens and the port still reeks of horse urine from the jumping. Just imagine with the summer heat...not a nice smell... The cables for the concert were not all set as I walked past and I have not heard or seen anything of the rehearsal that they had announced to take place tonight. I might be mistaken, but I was under the impression that the street decoration has been changed. Instead of several flags, now they have mostly Monaco colours but in straight banners attached to the light poles and every other is with the marriage banner and date. SA flags seem to be less then before. I didn't check St devote really, although I went past, but somehow it didn't register, but I will get past there tomorrow at some point. All in all I can say it is far from finished and no one seemed to be in a rush...maybe because of the heat The worst though is the smell at the port. They really need to get rid of that. Because with the heat and then add people to it who are smelly and sweaty, it will be unbearable. They should have found a different spot for it this year or postponed it to after the wedding or done it a few weeks earlier....horse piss is just not everyone's favourite perfume...

horse piss is just not everyone's favourite perfume... I think it is fitting. I always thought that "Princess Charlene" sounded like the name for a saddle horse (no offense to horses)

considering the terrorist attack on a hotel (even in a war zone) i would think the security people for the VIPS are very nervous, it just seems to me to scream>>>>soft target, and we all know the criminals and mafia types that hang out there attact a certain element of risk too. what a perfect set up an attack on live tv!!

The hubris of these people - Albert, Charlene, the palace, the Monaco media and every other moron attached to this wedding is mind boggling unbelievable. they are still selling it as a "fairytale love story"! Dear lawd, these people really need a really huge dosage of reality to put them in their place. I have a feeling that there is more to come before Friday when Conlene finally gets her title. Jerome Revon the production manager for this made-for-tv wedding still believes that he has a hit that everyone wants to watch. By the way, his production cost alone are expected at 1,000,000 euros ($1,431,800). From the Riviera Times: Monaco: Wedding countdown, 3 days to go: French director in charge of the historic TV event reveals it will be a world premiere for new high-tech camera.
The Royal Wedding… in 3D!28 June 2011 One wrong move and the picture-perfect image of the fairytale royal wedding could be shattered. For this reason, a lot rests on the shoulders of the TV director Jerome Revon because on the 1st and 2nd of July, he will be in charge of the television broadcast of the nuptials of Prince Albert II and Charlene Wittstock. Revon is in charge of making sure transmission of the Royal Wedding is picture perfect
He will be responsible for capturing a slice of history. It was back in 1997 that Revon produced a show in Monaco, hosted by France 2 anchor Michel Drucker and with Prince Albert and Princess Stephanie appearing as special guests. It was during the making of that programme that Revon, half jokingly, said he would co-ordinate the prince's wedding, if it were to ever occur.
Fast-forward 14 years and, just as he hoped, Revon’s production company was awarded the contract to produce the broadcasting of the royal wedding. "We have been working hard on this television broadcast since Christmas," says Revon to The Riviera Times in Monaco. "There is one meeting after the other with the Principality and 500 people are working to deliver a perfect TV show," Revon exclaims.
According to reports in the French daily newspaper Le Monde, the entire television project will cost close to one million euros.
"We do not expect two billion viewers, as with the marriage of William and Kate, but the interest will certainly be very high," says the French director. "Particularly exciting is that, for the first time in the world, we will be using six special cameras to produce 3D footage for this live transmission."
100 cameras have been placed throughout the Principality, 50 of which are in the old town. Many news stations will be on site including ones from TF1, France 2, TMC and numerous others from England, Poland, Spain and many other countries.
At the Prince's request no shooting from helicopters will be permitted due to the noise and because they are not environmentally friendly. Revon will be in charge of the co-ordination and smooth progression of image transfer from camera to screen: "You cannot make a single mistake when broadcasting live," he notes. "But I trust my experience and the inch-perfect work of my team."
Shooting will take place up until the evening of the 2nd of July. The images will include the speech, the toast, the wedding cake, the fireworks and the opening of the ball. "I am always losing weight during days like these, as much as three kilos a day" Revon reveals, demonstrating more than anything else just how hectic this forthcoming weekend will be.

well if that doesn't sum up what this mess is, i don't know what does folks! it's just a t-v show, poorly written, poorly acted with terrible advisors behind the scenes. but it will look pretty, right?

How can they still have the wedding? Considering all that we see and hear, the whole thing is already a guaranteed mega-failure.

Albert and Charlene has made a mockery of the institution of marriage. If it pours down raining Thursday night at the first of their several expensive concerts, then perhaps as the gospel song goes, Maybe God is Trying to tell You Something!

It seems they have handed some flags to Beausoleil. Unless of course Beausoleil has been invaded by Monaco Along the road that leads down to Monaco they have attached Monaco flags.

major thunderstorm with hail happening right now Are you serious! I doubt if their little covering over their mock church will hold up to hail and thunder storms. As I said, there is a God and and it is repulsive that Albert as the head of state of a Catholic nation is mocking the sacrament of marriage Remember Charls, you told Jenny Crwys-Williams that rain on one's wedding day is supposed to be good luck. Also, remember how many times you posted that you wished it will rain on Kate's wedding so people will not come out - not a lick of rain for Kate. Lots of luck Charls! You deserve to reap what you sow!

well, it's only Wednesday and there were predictions for last weekend. It was extremely humid all day yesterday and even worse today. In Monaco these things are over quickly and after that you are back to sunshine. At present it is still raining, but there is at the same time blue skies and sunshine. Looking from my kitchen window, it is worse in Menton. Dark up in La Turbie with those flimsy sunsails they might have to redo that part wonder what happened to the TV tents. There was quite a bit of wind...

the palace is busy trying to get the press excited "again" (as if they ever was) with their farcical made-for-tv wedding by putting out stuff about the wedding. From Monaco TelecomWedding: public wifi hotspots, for journalists
by By B. Ulrich June 29, 2011 - 17:18
To accommodate the best 1300 accredited journalists who cover the royal wedding, the press center has set up a media center in the hall of the township. A place that will turn into the nest time the festivities info! But reporters from around the world will be mobile too, to offer optimal reactivity and with the participation of Monaco Telecom, WiFi hotspots have been created for them. Used for surfing in the open, know that four public hotspots are switched on the network of journalists the time of the festivities. This is the Port Hercule, that of Zenzen in Fontvieille, that of the front of the station and finally that of the Place des Moulins.

1300 accredited journalists! That is a joke. Is anybody here an accredited journalist? Just for curiosity....they'll probably screw up the media center too. Maybe Conlene will be stopping by to get business cards!
She's going to need them!

major thunderstorm with hail happening right now An act of God! If I were Trampolina, I'd take the parting gifts and leave town NOW ;D But Trampolina is so stubborn... Even if Monaco is collapsing at the time she is getting married, even if God himself appears in front of her and says "Don't do it" she will. She is major gold digger.
