it seems that they are desperate that shops are kept open. The problem is that a lot of companies do not want to pay the salaries. If they do open, they will have to pay 2 and a half times of normal pay plus give them 2 days paid vacation in the following month. As far as I have heard, Carrefour will be open today but not on Saturday. Due to the public holiday residents have left a week early though to avoid the crowds and because they don't care. Funny thing I overheard a mom say in Carrefour to her kids who were headed for the flags: no leave them. They are for the tourists. Child asks what tourists? those who come for the wedding and want to stand at the street and wave. So there you go for who will stand along the road, if they get enough to come.....It won't be residents or Monegasques.... Kid says "What tourists" LMAO!!! ;D

As everything else with this wedding, things did not go according to plans for the 1000 South African proteases that Charlene wanted for floral decorations (good thing, can you imagine how more monstrous that wedding cake would have looked with more flowers sticking out of it?). Because of the wet and cold weather, most of the flowers hadn’t opened up so the floral farm could only deliver 500 stems. From Beeld (in Afrikaans):
SA flowers might let Monaco-bride blushBy Anthony Penderis 2011-06-26
Citrusdal. - A consignment blushing Brides, a kind of Cape protea, the weekend flew abroad specially for the wedding of Prince Albert of Monaco and his South African fiancée, Charlene Wittstock.
The request for 1000 stems blushing Brides as part of the floral decorations for their wedding this coming weekend is apparently directly Wittstock, a love for the Cape fynbos.
According. Joretha Grib, her floral business of the farm Jansekraal in the Olifants River Mountains near Palace Hill in the Western Cape industry, requesting only a week ago of their exporter in Cape Town.
It has a naarstigte noise on the farm results had and eventually they could only 500 stems harvest because most flowers have not opened because of the wet and cold weather.
They are the country's largest provider of blushing Brides after more than ten years ago with the cultivation of seed plants began.
It gave them a kind of grown that ivory-colored flowers with a pink brush forth.
"The flowers are very popular bouquets and decorations for weddings."
“Usually, different types of proteas performed while the blushing bride domestically marketed.
"For Monaco consignment, we have the stems in bunches of five bound which 20 bunches in each carton is packed," said Grib.
The three-day festivities surrounding the wedding of Wittstock and Prince Albert II, prince and ruler of Monaco, promises to be one of the highlights on the European social calendar.
When Wittstock her bouquet tradition Saturday night in the square in Monaco after the crowd threw, it will hopefully be a bunch of South African blushing Brides to be in the hands of a future blushing bride falls.

Sad for the dog though...which makes me think: is the puppy still alive? Before the wedding trashy made sure that there were pics out with her and puppy. He seems to have vanished since then

It's EXTREMELY clear that Albert spent more than the $30 million he copted to on this fake laughing stock wedding.
