Princess Charlene of Monaco has pledged over R1 million to charity in honour of Archbishop Desmond Tutu's 80th birthday, The Giving Organisation Trust says. Princess Charlene informed the trust of her R1,080,000 donation on Saturday evening, said spokeswoman Lesley O'Connor.
The princess, co-patron of the Trust with Tutu, said in a statement she hoped her contribution would encourage the public and corporate sector to honour the Archbishop by donating to those in need.
The trust represents ten charities in South Africa. The donation was to be divided equally among them.
Trust chairmen Kelvin Glen said the charities deeply appreciated the princess's generosity and her continued support of the trust.
Charlene's "trust" is a joke. Like Albert she has an ego that Grace never had. Grace would never have put her name in the title of a foundation.
The Princess Grace foundation was started after Grace's death by Rainier and the kids. Grace started AMADE to help children while she was alive (notice her name was not in the title).
Charlene claims to dislike being compared to Grace but she obviously seeks to compete with her through this new charity. (One sugar claimed it was because no one would know Grace in a few years just Charlene *They wish*).
She's starting a trust to do the EXACT same thing as Grace but can't be seen to support Grace's charity. She can't get herself off the couch to attend events in Monaco or learn the National Anthem. She manages to keep her mouth open like a fish in all other photographs...couldn't she pretend or was her posing too much?
Is anyone else not seeing a pregnancy? I don't care what anyone else says but Pregnant women work. Charlene can make it to "high profile" events but can't be bothered to attend others? This is one strange relationship.
quote mrplowfan "She manages to keep her mouth open like a fish in all other photographs...couldn't she pretend or was her posing too much?"
;D ;D My guess: too much stuff in her lips ... she tried to sing but didn't manage
And about the Trust: It comes across as a joke when a woman who has not finished school, who has learned NO profession, is not working since years (notice: showing up at events you have not organized is no work ...) is spending other peoples money and calles that HER Trust.
This whole farce is a joke ... unfortunately not a very funny one. Poor Monaco.

This answers my original question, when your article announcing her "charity" says is in "her country". Isn't she Monegasque now?? So, why is she helping South Africa and not Monaco?? I would like to see her nationalization's papers and her Baptism's certificate. I really doubt they exist. Is there a website or something where they list the name of the staff in these charities? Or it's also "private", therefore her family's names are not exposed. Everything about her stinks.
