There's a new book titled "« Les Carabiniers du Prince » (The Prince's Guards) with the preface written by Albert. Published March 24, 2011, the words of the book are by Jean-Pax Méfret and linked to images by Sylvie D.Ruau and Bernard Boucher. Description: This book is designed as a photo essay that makes us discover the 115 soldiers who make up this elite regiment in the service of Prince sovereign. The traditional changing of the guard in the National Day through the fire exercises or during an escort, you will discover all facets of an elite corps of more than a century whose music will be present at the marriage of Prince Albert. Another description: The creation of the Prince's Guard Corps dates back to December 8, 1817. This elite unit, soon bicentennial, has since ceased to evolve and modernize.
Its main task is, however, remained unchanged since inception: to ensure the Palace Guard and its dependencies, ensuring the safety of the Prince and His Family. This commitment requires constant dedication, vigilance and readiness on the part of men who perform it. You can place an order here for € 48,00 or better yet you can order the book here at a 5% discount for € 45,60. Please realize, it's published by Monaco's own publishing company, so don't expect anything revealing or salacious. Doesn't Albert look like a chubby Mickey Mouse in this photo - not at all menacing?

I was thinking he looked more like those Japanese cartoon characters, especially with the ear protectors.
My other thought was that he's trying to look macho like his good friend Putin.

Albert attended the award ceremony where Monaco Businessman Michel Pastor was awarded the French Legion of Honor. The article just stated that the award ceremony happened earlier this week, so this was either April 11, 12, or 13th (I couldn't find the date listed anywhere). Michel Pastor awarded the Legion of Honor Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 24:41 Michel Pastor, inescapable personality of the Principality was made an Officer of the Legion of Honor earlier this week by Odile Remik-Adim, Ambassador of France in Monaco.
At a party at his home, the newly promoted to the rank of officer, said he was honored that such a distinction is given to him by the French Republic. The Supreme Albert II attended the ceremony as well as good numbers of personalities and Monaco.
But chieftain above all is for his family and especially his wife, Catherine, his words went "Jepartage my pride and emotion of this day with those who are dear to me: Catherine, my wife does has never tired to back me and my children who now share my activities and I am very proud, and of course my sister Helena and our whole family gathered here .. .
Wink people, his son-singer David Hallyday was also on hand to this family event!

I ran into Fat Albert again later this afternoon. I was down near the Grimaldi Foirum watching the Queen of the Seas slowly moving away. It was raining like hell so I had to find a shelter as I stood in the rain taking pictures of the Ship while she was going away. I went to the Grimaldi Forum's main entrance and what do I see? The MC1 black Lexus was parked right in front. I thought to myself... why is he following me each time I am down at the Grimaldi forum?? There was the opening and cocktail party at Top Marques the luxury cars, watches, etc. exhibition. I stayed around for a while until the Lexus was moved to the back door so I followed. I moved myself to the back door in the pouring rain. Finally they all came out. I snapped a few pictures of PhatAl under the giant umbrella. All chances are that they may be blurred. I will post what I have tomorrow. What I notice is that there is much more security now than there was before. They are getting really uptight. I wonder if there is fear that tomething might happen to him. Is this the Libya effect? I have no idea. No sign of Tartlene. I was down there to wave goodbye to my Queen, the Grand Lady of the Oceans and the Prince came my way. How peculiar. The Queen turned her back to the Palace all day. This is a sign that she does not like Charlene so she decided to turn herself around and look the other way toward Cap Martin. She boycotted the Palace and the new Princess. She did not want to see or hear any of this. I Love You Queen Mary 2 So beautiful and Majestic!!

I wonder why PA has more security, something must be up. No Charlene is no surprise, they're fake couple with separate lives, and after marriage it'll continue. It's sham not marriage, only a business deal.

[/quote] Pastor who is a prominent real estate businessman and is more powerful than Albert, I think. Pastor is probably a buddy with this French ambassador or just has been sucking to him for a while & put some financing to his Honor. Just speculating. Knowing a bit how things work in MC & who are Pastors this is what my first thoughts were about the honor. Seems like typical MC business deal.

Just two days before William and Kate's wedding on Wednesday, April 27 (actually he and Charlene will be at the Queen's dinner the night before), Albert will be in Saint-Lô (Manche) to inaugurate an exhibition on the origins of Norman's family at the Museum of Fine Arts. Seriously, this man will attend a rib joint opening in Horneytown, North Carolina (real town) if it gets him out of Monaco. Here's an interview he did about his upcoming visit there (his attempt at why it is so important that he be at the opening). Albert II of Monaco traces his Norman roots April 14, 2011 Saint-Lô will exhibit works of art relating to the history of the Princes of Monaco. Albert II will be on site April 27.
You just bought a bust of Marshal de Matignon, which will be exhibited at Saint-Lô. Why? I acquired the bust to keep the memory and to perpetuate the family tradition of philanthropy, the Grimaldi practice since the seventeenth century. IV Jacques de Matignon, Prince de Monaco, which was under the name of Jacques I, had assembled a collection of paintings and objets d'art among the most recognized and reported more of his time. Hotel de Matignon, Paris instead of life of my family throughout the eighteenth century, now home of French Prime Minister, was a sort of box. The best pieces were exhibited. My ancestor bought works by masters confirmed, but also contemporary artists like Lancret who worked on the interior of Matignon. For the bust, I wanted it to be exhibited in the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Lô him back to near its original place of destination, the funeral chapel of Matignon, in Torigni-sur-Vire.
Is it important to come to Normandy, the year it celebrates its 1100 years? It is a coincidence which is of particular importance. My family has deep and longstanding ties with Normandy. They precede the alliance between Grimaldi and Matignon in 1715. One of my earliest ancestors Grimoald, have married Crispina, daughter of the Duke of Normandy Rollo, the Viking who founded Normandy in 911.
Where are your credentials Sire de Matignon, which connects you to Torigni-sur-Vire in Normandy, and the town of Matignon in Britain? These songs are reminiscent of the marriage between the families and Grimaldi Matignon. They evoke a lovely couple, Louise and Jacques-Hippolyte. Both ruled successively over the Principality. In our modern history, only one woman was supreme in Monaco. His face particularly dear to me. Today, more generally, the former strongholds of French Grimaldi allow Monaco to maintain close relations of friendship with people from many French regions, and I am very happy.

Thanks for sharing Madame, what a goof he looks like with someone holding an umbrella gEEz! what a p***y. who's the greasy guy on his left, he looks familar? looks like he needs a bath Countess, that "greasy guy" is Steven Saltzman, who is the very wealthy owner of Top Marques Monaco. Eringer spoke of him several times in his blogs, " And, of course, there was FLOATER’s recent meeting in Paris with Steven Saltzman and Thierry Lacoste. Eringer read FLOATER’s report aloud to the Prince: A bizarre situation from the start with Steven Saltzman. He’s loud, rude, aggressive, obnoxious and overbearing." Just Google "Steven Saltzman Eringer" and you will see the blog entries. Albert is the patron for Top Marques. Madame Concorde already noted that Albert was at the opening day of the exhibit; Pierre was there also.

Here are some more photos of Albert at the Top Marques on April 14, 2011. Of course, he has to sit and pose in every car (or airplane). Monaco's Minister of State, Michel Roger, was also there. I have no idea what this is, but Albert seems interested. There's even a display of the controversial Oden Towers at the Exhibit. The architect, Alexandre Giraldi, is discussing the design with Monaco's Mayor Georges Marsan. Does Steven Saltzman look less greasy wearing all white? A bird's eye view of the exhibit
