ALBERT II
BY THE GRACE OF GOD
SOVEREIGN PRINCE OF MONACO
Have sanctioned and sanction the law set forth below, the National Council adopted at its meeting on May 10, 2011.
Article One.
Friday 1 and Saturday, July 2, 2011 are declared public holidays.
Art. 2.
These days are not worked and paid into mandatory conditions laid down by Act No. 800 of 18 February 1966 governing the remuneration and working conditions on public holidays.
Art. 3.
Retail and licensed companies under Law No. 1.338 of September 7, 2007 on financial activities that wish nevertheless exert an activity on Friday 1 July 2011 are provided to make a claim under section 7 of Law No. 800 of February 18, 1966, above. They are deemed to hold such an exemption if they carried out the opening of their trade or their institutions.
Art. 4.
Retail businesses with fewer than thirty employees who wish to pursue activities Saturday, July 2, 2011 are not required to make such a request, under the same conditions as those provided in the preceding article.
Art. 5.
Retail businesses that wish to exercise an activity Sunday, July 3, 2011 are automatically entitled to a suspension of Sunday in accordance with Articles 5 and 6 of Law No. 822 of June 23, 1967 Weekly Rest. However, by derogation from Article 5 of Law No. 822 of June 23, 1967, mentioned above, this suspension is not counted under the maximum number allowed in the first paragraph of this article, and businesses referred to in paragraph above are exempt from notification to the labor inspector planned for the second paragraph of that article.
This Act is promulgated and shall be enforced as State law.
