True, which is why I don't want a smart home. A lot of my appliances can be linked to the internet. But I don't want anyone to be able to manipulate them and drive me crazy by turning them on at odd hours and what not. I also do not have Alexa or any other device in my home, because I don't want others to be able to listen into my private conversations. The government needs a warrant to do so and rightfully so, Amazon uses Alexa without one. And they do not tell you when they start listening. Who knows what those underpayed employees are up to. And who knows which of them is a pedophile or rapist or stalker, using these devices. We want governments to stop before our doorstep, but we PAY international, greedy companies like Amazon to listen to us 24/7, mine all our private data, sell it to who knows. How crazy is that? We check who comes into our front door, but anyone can access our and our childrens bedrooms via our smart TV. And since a lot of products these days are produced in China, we better be nice to them or they shut down all our fridges, phones etc., whilst Russia turns off our gas. And there we were growing up during the cold war thinking that was bad. I find what is going on now a lot scarier, because it is so much more difficult these days to find out who is behind it and with what motive. Organized crime, terrorists, Russia, China, or money grabbing international companies or just your narcissist ex....

This article makes for an interesting read. It is obviously not about CW, but read this and then imagine to be catapulted into this world from nothing by marriage. Add to that the kind of issues anyone can encounter previous to that and you may understand better how CW got where she is. Interesting also if you look at Caros kids. They all move only among their own kind and both Pierre and Andrea struggled to find their way. Andrea is more the apathetic type whereas Pierre needs adrenaline, much like his father. Steph really is an exception. Which may have kept her sane. Her circle are mostly ordinary people, getting on with their lives. And she has shown her kids what real people live like. She manages to move in both worlds, but her chosen life is different to the one she was born into. And her children seemed to find their way more easily then Caros kids. All of them are working, although I do suspect that they all do receive an extra income from their mother. www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/nov/22/therapist-super-rich-succession-billionaires

Well, I guess the Wittstocks went home and forgot who is paying their bills. Or they haven't passed on the message to her SA camp yet. Anyways with friends like this, who needs enemies.

Thank you Paca for sharing the long post about CW's real health. It was disturbing to read and I really hope she finds the courage to get out of her situation. Like you said, it will take years to recuperate and I would get out pronto if it was me.
As for the second claim, that Monaco is under siege by someone who wants to overthrow Albert, I find that very hard to believe. All billioners actually benefit from there being a princely family to guard the status quo, so they can keep hiding their wealth. The leak is said to be coming from Russia, Iceland and USA. Iceland hosted Wikileaks back in the days when Julian Assange was still free, and might still do.
Leaks are happening all over, not just in Monaco, so they shouldn't take it so personally. Panama had nothing personal against anyone in particular, just corrupt leaders in general. Leaks are happening wherever rich people hide their "tax-free" money and it is mainly because normal people cannot keep looking the other way, while the world's wealth keeps piling up on the same few hands. They are too disgusted not to say anything. This a part of our evolution as mankind. Do we really want to have status quo? I say no. I would rather have the money in the world be divided more evenly between people. There is enough for everyone.

I have a lot of respect for investigative journalists. I personally love the quest for truth and probably watched too many detective shows growing up, for my own good. Assange is a prime example however of having his cause perverted. We only need to look to his dealings with Roger Stone. On the flip side of that, few feel shamed at that level of wealth. They are when the information points to double standards and is construed in ways to stoke outcry. I do believe in redistribution of wealth and as Greece's former finance minister in his book Minotaur's Labyrinth said, had the postwar Global Plan been fully implemented the way it was intended - with global surpluses being redistributed rather than hoarded by Wall Street then reneging on the gold standard, we'd be having another discussion today. Instead we have displaced people and economic refugees, those who don't now line the bottom of the Mediterranean from desperation. I digress. I think Albert like most leaders always has to be aware of attacks. So I'm not dismissing the theory that there are puppeteers.

The leaks I mean are the ones about CWs health. I am quite happy to see tax evaders outed and I would cheer if Albert finally found the courage to kick Phil green out of his country. He and his wife are bottom feeders. I found it rather telling that this criminals daughter went on to have a child with a convicted fellon. Talk about mixing with your own kind...
The pandora papers also revealed a lot about MC. Albert doesn't like the image of MC. IMO he has failed to clean up, largely due to his own fault. But whenever he actually manages to get someone to work on it, people in his closest circle are being attacked. It is not the first time. There has also been corruption in his circle. And, as the EU commission found years ago, there is a basic lack of recognizing corruption in MC. And that goes top to bottom. That is why applaud the surete for closing stars n bars for corona violations. Everyone knows how close the owners are to Albert, but still they had to close. That is the way to show that you mean business. And unless he kicks a few people out or repot them to the taxman, he will not get the image change. Start kicking out the Greens. They are vile and coverage in all UK media is guaranteed.
Agreed on the health part, but she needs to work that out for herself. Her flight instincts were right, when she wanted to bolt. But lets be honest, she is said to have 150 million in her account after 10 years of marriage. Grace had to pay 2 million (which would be 20 today) and when she died she had 10000$ and a derelict cottage in Ireland to her name. She went from highest paid actress at the time to practically nothing. Had she continued her career, she could have stopped working at the age of 30. She was financially savy and negotiated her own contracts. So, had she made a different choice and acted against her mothers wishes, she would have been independently wealthy and could have persued her own career on her own terms. Instead she pressed flowers.

When the guy coming over to tell you where to put your money is not some clandestine smuggler but rather a banking executive in a suit from a reputable bank straight from the office, the sense of reality or propriety kind of suspends itself. And I'm not condoning. I've just seen it with my own eyes. The leaks I mean are the ones about CWs health. Not learning French was always a mistake. Right from the get go.

Well, everyone knew about her attitude towards her french lessons. If you don't show up although you have nothing to do all day, it does make the rounds. She wasn't interested in learning. Neither French nor anything else. She was given the oppportunity. Others in her position at the time learned about the history and the cuture. Maxima was fluent. She even managed the difficult task of humour in a foreign language. I don't think any of her family moved to the netherlands to keep her company and sponge of her inlaws. Marys family came but left soon enough. Mary also knew the language by the time she got married. Grace had a tough time in MC because she didn't learn the language until the mid sixties. And CW has the same problem. With Grace I grant that she was a different generation, which did not consider female education important. She told Caro that there was no need for her to go to school. What Albert didn't get from his mothers life is that she would have had it easier with an education. Her acting might have helped her with her public persona and surely growing up the way she did, she obtained sufficient skills to hold her own in small talk. As was expected of a woman in the 50s. A better educated woman would have understood her role better and probably had it easier, but Albert wouldn't have been able to handle that. Although someone like Mathilde might have been a suitable companion. She is educated, but at the same time not in your face. I think she does a lot behind the scenes. Albert and her husband are almost the same age. But he chose more wisely.

Right - not interesting in learning about the place she was marrying into. Completely agree. And learning Danish and Dutch is a tough job too hats off to them. Respect.
I think if you choose to live in another country learn the culture and the language or stay home.

Even Hendrik learned Danish and he was not happy with his role. But still he did the job for many years. I don't think that the Danes would have tolerated a CW in the job. Then again their royals are paid for with tax money. And they are a democracy. Monaco isn't.

she had never learnt another language and probably not much of a learner anyway. The brain needs to have the capability to learn a new language, but after you master one, the rest is easy. Having said that, it was stupid of Albert to choose such an uneducated woman. But it was karma, so he couldn't help it. The witch was calling and good to lift off the bad karma.

well apparently she speaks afrikaans and zulu, but obviously we don't know how well. With afrikaans she should be able to learn dutch and german, but also Swedish (I just started learning online, and it is amazing how similar the languages are, especially when you grew up with a northern German dialect). And I heard that Norwegian and Danish would be easy to learn if you know swedish. Also the more languages you learn the easier it gets, because you develop an eye and ear for similarities, which makes learning the basics easier. The rest is practice and interest. IMO she lacks both. Anyways, I might be wrong, but with my kids I noticed that the days after their swimming lessons, their brain was not quite there. So eventually I took them out of swimming. They were short, so competitive swimming would never have been an option. And I didn't want them to mess up school due to swimming. They had learned all the needed to be good in swimming at school or in private. So I signed them up for athletics to give them an all round workout. They were exhausted, just like after swimming, but their brain was awake the next day. Not sure if others are the same, but my personal experience and the experience I have from my kids, is that your brain reacts differently to exercising in water and on land. Maybe an oxygen thing. Also when you look at athletes from different sports the level of education is interesting. Footballers are usually the least educated (which is funny when you think of the origins), swimmers are mostly also not going into higher education and rarely attend university, whereas athletics is possibly the sport with the highest education level. I might be a little prejudiced as I grew up in athletics and always considers footballers dumb, but most of those former famous german athletes went on to become medical doctors often specialising in sports injuries etc. whereas the footballers, well they disappeared mostly or became coaches. I suppose most managed to live off their millions. I think Klinsmann was the last of high profile players who actually trained for a proper job. And Uwe Seeler was one of the last who had a fulltime day job and played professional football. And I think that he is still the one who is more respected.

Fascinating. To support your theory, Quebec has Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, a professional footballer and practicing doctor. I'm impressed you're learning Swedish ππΌππΌππΌ The more languages you know, the smarter you are, my mom used to say. I can throw a little Arabic around but I chilled my online classes. Happy 50th to the UAE, by the way. Meanwhile I think swimming in cold water is more beneficial for the brain than warm pool water. I for one as a child would jump in the cold 68Β°F pool at dawn. My mom was a pro at balancing PH levels etc. She had a cute kit. I digress as usual. And oxygen levels are very important. I just read that our waters off Tadoussac where my parents partly honeymooned are deprived of the colder runoff of Arctic oxygenated waters and the decrease is 50% in recent years which could lead to dead zones. That would be horrible for our marine animals, if not swimmers. But still. well apparently she speaks afrikaans and zulu, but obviously we don't know how well. About the witch π€... I don't know a 16th century Flemish noblewoman who would be without entourage and end up at a man's mercy like that, and would be walking on a cliff at night alone with a man. But if she did sacrifice herself to save her virtue, there's no need to be a witch for a curse to be created. It's automatic. I've watched more than one man curse himself by his actions. It's like you say, karma. There's a beautiful balance in the universe and it's only a matter of time until something comes back to punish people when the truth comes to the surface. I try to warn people all the time, so they can change their path. All the while checking myself too, ofc. she had never learnt another language and probably not much of a learner anyway. The brain needs to have the capability to learn a new language, but after you master one, the rest is easy. Having said that, it was stupid of Albert to choose such an uneducated woman. And Uwe Seeler was one of the last who had a fulltime day job and played professional football. And I think that he is still the one who is more respected. I was referring to European football aka soccer. So, no personal statistics there. THough with american football I was told that brain damage or long term damages may cause dementia etc. Especially when you start as a small kid. Given that professional swimmers spend most their time in a mix of water, urine and chlorine, it might be that. As a child I spent most of my summers daily at the beach. I did most of my swimming in natural waters like lakes or the sea. Swimming in pools, especially indoor made me groggy. So maybe it is more to do with chlorine than actual swimming. And if you train 4 to 6 hours per day in that kind of water, there is more exposure to it.... I do think it would make for an interesting study to actually test the effect different sports have on your brain and your learning ability. Or your behaviour, like impulse control, violence etc. Personally, had one of my kids shown to be violent to other children, I would have signed them up for martial arts, so they learn to control their impulses and learn when it is ok to use physical force and when not. But it would be helpful if there were some sort of scientific backdrop.
