I don't like anyones dress so far. Trahy is her usual boring wit a bathtowel outfit, which looks like she forgot to cover her breasts. Carolines outfit I'm not getting and on CHarlotte I only like the colour. Are they trying to make a statement with Caro and trashy walking in together? Bet the tabloids will be going sth like the 2 first ladys of mc...

The pics keep coming now so here's the direct link to getty I hope it works. I think Charlotte is stunning although her dress is a bit see-through. Caroline looks also great but a little bit of color would have been much better. CC looks ok but of course strapless and black again she just can't find a dress which fits her giant shoulders it seems so she always has to go strapless. Her hair reminds me of Olivia Newton-John's in Grease...

May be. Albert entered with Charlotte because her brothers didn't come? I don't see them there.

so far i doesn't look as if they attracted anyone worth mentioning. Where are the SA parasites?SA parasites!!! Excellent!!!! ;D Thanks for posting the pictures. I would not waste a minute of my precious time going down there to the Sporting to see who is doing what. All I can say by looking at their dresses and styles is that none of them have understood what London was like during the 60's. No girls were wearing long dresses at the time and the hair styles of Charlene, Caroline and Charlotte do not correspond at all at the Swinging London hair styles - neither do their clothing. They are as un-swinging London as can be. I remember the icons of the time, Twiggy was the goddess. Jean Shrimpton, , Marianne Faithfull, Jane Asher, Cynthia Lennon were the groupies in chief. Mary Quant was the couturier of choice and Vidal Sassoon the hair stylist of choice. The girls were wearing ultra short dresses and skirts, anything long would not even come to mind. The men had long hair, think of the Beatles (the good boys) and the Rolling Stones (the bad boys) who topped all the music charts. The mandatory hangout was Carnaby Street. The Monacos have totally missed out with their event at the Sporting. Not sure who did the research but they completely missed out as they most always do.

Trampolina's dress looks off-the-rack ... I've seen that at Macy's! Disappointed in Caroline's dress ... love Charlotte's look -- although I could do without the space-thingy around her neckline.

The girls were wearing ultra short dresses and skirts, anything long would not even come to mind. But the Monegasques were complaining about the length (or lack thereof ;D) of cw's skirts/dresses... So she has to wear long ones now. I find it odd that they pick a theme for the ball, occasionally a theme that gives ample opportunity for costumes and outfits, but then do nothing with it and show up in a normal ball gown. Why pick a theme at all? I remember pics of Grace in costumes for a theme ball. It was done once, why did they stop?

Actually, the ones that have matched their clothes to the theme are the girls with pink wigs in the door, welcoming the crowds, lol

Ok that's just plain weird. Why did Albert not walk in with his wife when Caroline and Charlotte could have walked in together? or all four could have walked in together. I think because this is Caroline's event, Charlene did not want Charlotte to have the upper hand so Albert was relegated to second fiddle in Charlene's mind. Charlene got her much needed attention fix by walking in with Caroline. Unfortunately for Charlene, with Albert walking in with Charlotte all the attention went to Charlotte. Perhaps I'm reading too much into this but did Albert make Charlotte the attention getter on purpose? By not walking in with her husband, Charlene has once again fueled the living separately theme.
Charlene's hair reminds me of the beehive hairdo's Grace used to wear to the balls. She's copying Grace in my opinion. The dress is a bore. I like Caroline's. She always wears something interesting and chic. Charlotte's dress is pretty but makes her look a little washed out in my opinion. I think it's interesting that the boys are not present this year or any of the trio friends. I thought the point of Pete D. was to draw a younger crowd and it looks like it backfired. Or Charlene just wanted Pete as we said before. Either way it without the trio and friends I doubt they pulled the young wealthy crowd. JMO

Just stopped by for a second, before heading out, to see the pics. Hilariously boring!(if that could ever be possible) I agree with Hibou, WC's dress is booorrring! (nothing new there ), and her hair is hilarious! Alice in the wonderland! IMO It is so funny when a huge woman wants to play a little girl. Not cute at all...just weird...as usual.

Everything looks ‘poor’ and not ‘swinging’ London, except the flowers. Charlotte walking with Albert is for me a big statement (the last to walk in are the most important persons of the ball – the public must already be inside – for me it looks like Al en Charlotte walk last).
Charl’s is over the top media whore and hangs like a fool on to Albert. She represent the anti-liberation of women in the 1960s.

The quintessence of London under the stars of the Monte-Carlo Sporting. Last night, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, and the guards of Buckingham Palace marked route prince Albert II and the Princess Charlène in the hall leading to the Hall of stars. With Pete Doherty and Mark Ronson if the "Swinging London" evokes Carnaby Street, the psychedelic, Mary Quant, shirts with flowers and the liberation of women in the 1960s, it embodies a true musical advent with the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who or Pink Floyd. Last night, on the stage, these are Pete Doherty, Mark Ronson, Miles Kane, Imelda May and The Hype that made a brilliant tribute to these groups of legend. If Miles Kane has provided a genuine moment of "sixties revival", Peter Doherty, enfant terrible of the rock, provided the key beautifully sensitive and current. The best of the British scene on the Monegasque stage...

I think Caro plays it smart with her sons. They are not at the ball. Nobody forgot the driving and bar fight... Instead she gives Pete Doherty… more extreme.
And the successful daughter runs into an obedient Chanel dress on the side of Albert.
Smart move!

getty only has 3 pages of pics, only from the performers, the decoration and some of the family. Nothing interesting and by the looks of it, judging by the few pics of guests, it was a pretty local affair. The best they could come up with was a former Miss France and Silvstedt. Seems like Pete bashed sth or someone before as he had his hand bandaged. But it doesn't look as if they managed to atttract anyone to MC. Not even Caros friends don't seem to bother anymore. There used to be a time when it was unthinkable that Karl would not attend the ball. Now he doesn't bother. No one seems to bother anymore, not even Caros kids and their crowd.
