Seriously, does anyone know of what capacity the kids, especially the toddlers, serve as part of AS Monaco Rugby Club? are the kids here officially part of the clubs and are wearing already existing uniforms or was this entire scene manufactured just for a photo opp for Charlene. Seriously, she has done this before several times. Are these kids being used purely as photos props - creating uniforms and everything - like the Australian kids were when Charlene had the kids - and their parents - bussed to the museum to line the stairs to form a "crowd" as she entered. rugby and soccer sections do accept the kids fairly young, though no toddlers. These kids are about 5 years old and older. But the majority not older then ten. After that age, they would be more difficult to be lined up, plus they don't look as cute and she needs the extra sugar. No the kids are regular kids that are actually part of the club. And yes they tend to receive their outfit. Its part of the game. I just think it is too funny that they couldn't manage to get her a decent sized shirt. Guess they didn't think that with her shoulders they would have to chose XXL mansize. They probably thought they would be fine with getting her the largest female size, but that with French women.....

They are really desperate for PR if this is how they are spinning it.. I would hate to think these idiots are trying again to sell Charlene as the saving grace of Monaco as they did previously upon publishing bad news. I have this sinking feeling that some over-paid flunkie yet again advised Albert that he and Charlene as a couple and Charlene as a "glamorous" (their word, not mine) individual are a great image to attract tourist to Monaco. Right after Charlene's visit, Monaco Matin published a breaking news article about the visit with more to come on Sunday (most likely front page coverage). Were there really 200 children on the field plus a large crowd to welcome Charlene?
Princess Charlene, godmother of AS Monaco RugbyPosted on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 4:03 p.m. Princess Charlene spent Saturday morning with 200 young rugby players from AS Monaco, on the stage of Cap d'Ail, to formalize its title sponsor.
Princess Charlene spent Saturday morning with 200 young rugby players from AS Monaco, on the stage of Cap d'Ail, to formalize its title sponsor.
Between signatures, hugs, passes oval ball and encouragement, Charlene of Monaco with its charm and natural spontaneity club members and the large crowd to welcome her.
Seduced by the creation of the Rugby School for 5-15 years ASM Rugby initiated recently, the princess did not hesitate to don the red jersey for a few minutes to play the sport that has rocked her Youth in South Africa and who corresponds to the missions of the Foundation based on childhood and sport.
Sharing a beautiful moment for all. ________________________________________ Full details and photos in your edition of Monaco on Sunday.

The Monaco Matin article stated that there are about 200 kids from the ages of 5 - 15 years. I am sorry, but these five little ones in the front look about 3 or 4 year old and added for the cute factor.

LOL you are talking normal size kids. Mine were short there, but not the shortest. Here they are dwarfs and American clothes size fits them 3 years after the recommended age...No these kids are all about 5 years and up. You just have to remember that the French are naturally shorter.

I only see one brave tyke coming near her with a smile, but I almost sense his mother off-camera telling him to. Poor kids.

I think the little smiley is just genuinely a happy child enjoying himself. You can tell that he is not paying attention to the other show,he is having his own.

So they have finally found something for Charls -out of the way- of Caroline and Stephanie activities... Maybe I'm old-fashion? But I see no other princesses become 'Patron' of a Rugby team...

Maybe I'm old-fashion? But I see no other princesses become 'Patron' of a Rugby team... Probably she became one because it's the only sport she is interested in? IMO even swimming only gets attention as a means to show off her new life and to keep the former swimming star reputation alive. Albert has never been seen at a rugby match during the 7 or so years I've been paying attention, but in the last year and a half, two years, he goes to visit rugby players in their dressing rooms, goes off to the world championships and has a sudden urge to visit the regional teams. With barbie in tow for almost all of those visits. And don't forget there was at least one rugby player amongst barbie's exes.

Ok, I am no longer confused about why Charlene is only posing with these children if she is the patron of Monaco's professional rugby team. Is the news stated Charlene is the patron of AS Monaco Rugby Club (their website), which is club/school for children 5 - 15 years old and a leisure club for the team of "oldies" (players from 17 to 77 years). Monaco's professional rugby players are members of La Fédération Monégasque de Rugby (F.M.R.) (their website). Below is my misguided rant that is no longer valid because it was based on my lack of knowledge that there are two separate organizations and Charlene is not a patron of the professional team. Here are some photos of the La Fédération Monégasque de Rugby (F.M.R.) Here is a group shot of Charlene's new patronage - the AS Monaco Rugby Club

I didn't know there existed a rugby team in MC... Apparently she can only do those things which have nothing to do with MC…

Rugby is very popular in France. Just as popular as football. Especially in the South you will find a lot of rugby fans. So I don't think it doesn't have anything to do with MC, it has just not been supported as much as football. And naturally there is a problem due to space. The stadium is used by athletics, football and rugby. Athletics can only be done in the stadium, so football often goes to La Turbie, where they have another spot to train. Rubgy is taking the scrabs...And obviously the adjoining communities have their own sports clubs, so aren't willing to leave their stadiums to a team from MC....

But Charlene is not actually promoting Monaco's Rugby team which does compete internationally. She is promoting herself through the children in the ASM Rugby Club. Normally, I would believe that promoting c child's interest in the sport is promoting the sport, but Charlene is so self-centered that I don't even believe she cares about Monaco's professional rugby team. Has Charlene ever gone to any of FMR games? There has not been any public photos or news of her attending (which doesn't mean that she hasn't. As an avid rugby fan, I think it would be nice if she did promote the team which seems to get little attention. Her promotion will it least give the team some attention and perhaps they would appreciate the support. Perhaps she has the mentality that she displayed as a guest during the France and Argentina match when she implied that she only likes rooting for winning teams.

Charlene likes promoting herself and participating only in those activities that will further the image campaign that she has manufactured and cultivated - the greatest carer and lover of all the world's children. Here's the front page of the Monaco Matin bragging about the new princess of rugby.

I have no doubt that what she is doing is solely for her own benefit. But to be fair, this is probably the most suitable for her. SHe migh even end up liking it and actually do it for the kids and the sport...ok, maybe wishful thinking...still I don't see her involved with the swimmers. And they are actually quite present as heaps of people send their kids swimming. Rugby is, aprt from tabletennis, probably one of the least prominent sports. The wannabes want their kids to play tennis, football never has problems and athletics is the sport of those who want normal kids and want them to move. Swimming is done by all as a means of security when you live at the coast.

Swimming is done by all as a means of security when you live at the coast. As I said when I first posted the photos, I will give Charlene her due credit because she looks good in the photos with the children. But, I also believe that Charlene has not made an effort to impact any of the important quality of life issues affecting the people in Monaco nor has she immersed herself in the life of her new country. Charlene, as she seemed to learned from Albert, prefers those activities where she has to just show up and pose. She has not in the last two years (starting with her engagement) done any substantive task in Monaco that required an iota of intellect and effort. Since her engagement she performed one task that required effort on her part and that was swimming the Midmar Mile in South Africa - which required weeks of training. She only did that as an opening to a series of interviews to promote herself and since she has never mentioned the Midmar Mile nor returned this year as she stated that she would. It was too much work. Visiting students at Monaco's schools was a great idea, especially since she had visited students in South Africa. But, Charlene's highly publicized intimate conversations with the children about their concerns was only limited to those in an English class. Plus, I doubt if she will ever set foot in Monaco high school - which is a really important age group that she really should be reaching out to. Again, Charlene really looks good in the jersey playing with the children and if that is all that matters then she is set. However, the ASM Rugby Club has very high expectations that Charlene will raise money for them - and I am sure that she will since it requires absolutely no effort nor sacrifice on her part. Charlene will do for them as she has done for the Special Olympics - get other organizations to plan and throw an event and Charlene will show up at the fundraiser with a multi-thousands of dollar outfit on, pose for photos, receive a check of the proceeds from the event and pat herself on the back - or have Bunte, Point de Vue, Gala and Paris Match pat on her on the back - for doing so much for these children.

I have NEVER seen a caption this long, but below I posted one that was in Profimedia with photos of Charlene with the club. Again, these people are expecting a lot with Charlene as their patron. Let's hope she doesn't let them down as she has done her first two ever patron - the Ladies Lunch and Born Free which she actually has seem to dump. Has anyone heard anything about Biship Tutu's Foundation - which she is now apart of - since she got her much needed adulation fix with her photo opp with him. Just saying, this woman only tends to like receiving adulation and photo opps and having others actually do the work. What I feel is important to Charlene - adulation and promotion in signing autographs and posing with props children Pic1 ** Pic2 ** Pic3Pic4: To mask and deflect what she really - someone who is just incapable of doing anything but shallow appearances even after she has been afforded unlimited amount of resources at her disposal for the last six years. Profimedia caption: June 16th Monaco HSH Princess Charlene, Godmother of AS Rugby Club Monaco. HSH Princess Charlene has formalized her acceptance of the Godmother Detre Monegasque Rugby Club by attending the workout at the Rugby Club School. This Club boasts a beautiful effect in Rugby School for youth ages 5 to 19 years. The Princess was seduced by this initiative, which aims to transmit the values of the sport, and reminiscent of his first missions Foundation geared toward children and sport. 48 years, so Lage AS Monaco Rugby. A long tradition of rugby therefore, but a story chopped, from glory to dheures mothballed. At the heart of these hazards, the problem dinfrastructures, field, in which one yet knows Principality invent themselves in the winning square meters of the sea since 2009, a new team takes the reins of their passion, and, by dint dénergie denthousiasme and she knows a renaissance: on the one hand going up a senior team, which each year will climb the steps of the fourth series to promote lactuelle Dhonneur, conquering three times the shield area, and else part by creating for the first time a Rugby School from 5 to 15 and youth teams and junior cadets, structured and quality. From next lannée therefore, all categories will be represented. A wealth of talent for future senior red and white. A real club.
Finally 2012 will mark a strategic step that will contribute to the durability of lovalie Monaco: the Club will have its meadow, its poles and its clubhouse, in the neighboring town of Blausasc! "Attentionand support HSH Princess Charlene brings to us today, is a huge honor and a wonderful appreciation felt by all within our Club. Its a pride and encouragement to our players and our many talented volunteers. Cest now a responsibility to be worthy den, " says Matt [/i] [/blockquote]

I now Rugby is very popular in France. But MC? The club is 20 years old (according to wiki). If they are so popular why nobody speaks about them? It doesn't seem the professional club, the new of the club, is very popular. Monaco's professional rugby team is the Fédération Monégasque de Rugby (FMR) and it was established in 1996 - thus 16 years old. Now, the club that Charlene is a patron of - the ASM Rugby club - used to play professionally but they no longer do. This rugby club is a section of the The Association Sportive de Monaco (hence ASM). Moanco's football team is also a section of ASM. The ASM Rugby Club was established in September 21, 1964, thus it s 48 years old. For me the distinction between the two clubs, ages of the club, popularity of the sport, nor needs of the clubs really doesn't matter to explain Charlene's involvement. Charlene is involved with the one that gives her the maximum photo opportunities with her favorite prop for now - children. Charlene originally stated that her foundation will help children with a focus on sports (her advisers probably made her expand er mission from her initial statement). So, she wants photos of herself with children in sports to display on the wall of her foundation. That's all she cares about - the photos to display. It really is that simple for this simple-minded narcissistic woman. Period. And Charlene's need for adulation will only get worse with the lack of pregnancy and then turn into desperation when Kate and William decides and do get pregnant. This is a nice photo.
