My guess is that the pope has pancreatic cancer and therefore not long to live. The announcement would not have been made over the Christmas holidays when the world turns to him for tradition. I don't expect he'll survive his resignation by long.
Naturally, it's Reuters who like to bring up the Church's negative record during his pontificate. Reuters is owned by the Rothschilds who just like Albert & CC seem to have a nefarious effect on everything they come in contact with...
Meanwhile, the Koreans IMO are long overdue to be represented, especially given the martyrdom of early Catholics there. Any Catholic from the Mideast right now would be a boost to end their persecution.
But odds are in favour of French-Canadian Cardinal Marc Ouellette 5/2, followed by the Nigerian cardinal to replace Benedict.

If the next Pope is black, I will definitely believe in the Profecies. We are doomed :-( It´s really unusual that a Pope abdicates. I heard that something really big will happen Hope not.

last time Ratzinger was not really a favourite and he made it. SO who would be the most unlikely candidate? And yes hibou he appointed plenty of cardinals who probably think along his lines or at least pretend to. That would make plenty of people in the conclave voting for a candidate he would approve of. ANd I would suspect that there will be subtle hints to whom to vote for.

We are doomed :-( If you're referring to Nostradamus: Dark in this case means evil as much as skin colour, and "from the slaves come", let's not forget Jews were slaves in Egypt and "from them come" literally when they left the Nubians behind to go into exodus. Nostradamus was also Jewish. Not to point a finger, but more to debunk a necessarily black-skinned pope as harbinger of doom.

I doubt that the next pope will be black. Personally I would think it to be great, but I don't see that happening in the days of old white men fearing for their power. BTW Jesus was a Jew and probably having difficulties these days getting past US airport security, seeing that he was a darkhaired, olive skinned bearded guy. He would be labeled as a terrorist... oh, wait, wasn't that how the Romans labeled him but with more ancient words? Ah well, he wouldn't stand a chance in the modern world and probably get thrown out of his own church for hanging out with 12 guys (none of them seemingly interested in females) 24/7 and sharing a flat with a prostitute...

In any event, Albert and company as regents of a Catholic principality should leave the party and get their behinds home IMO. What a way to welcome the news, dancing in parades and drinking in bars.

I read that the Pope has suffered a series of mini strokes over the course of several years which is why he was thinking of retiring before he was named Pope. Once he was named Pope he felt God had chosen him to carry out his work as long as possible. He also apparently has a balance problem which is why he has stumbled and apparently fallen these last couple of years. He sounds like he's been in poor health for years and the Cardinals knew it when they elected him. Sounds like the Cardinals wanted and interim Pope for a while. JMO

Agree!!! Albert is a bored man. A man with so much money and time and laziness he longer knows what he wants to do with himself. Eventually he will run out of places to visit and then what? It's sad really because at 55 he has nothing in this world of permanence, or too look forward to each day in his life. JMO.

His brother told the press right after his election that he was shocked and had hoped he would get passed over. His concern was his health at the time. He was known to be fragile and he had asked JP2 to be allowed to retire 3 years previously. He had planned to return to Bavaria and share a house with his brother. The house has now been gifted to a foundation.

Boredom, lots of money and to much time on your hands...never a good combination. The same is true for his "wife".

There is one passage by Nostradamus that may have hit home for the pope when he saw Albert and CC: He just got the wardrobe wrong, she wore lace not fur but it was the colour of snow...

What a pompous ass (Excuse my language)! Now Albert is going to have to suck up to another Pope and drag snow white (or for some of you I should say snow white in drag) with him for special effects. I love how they said Albert was abroad. Oh come on Palace we all know he's at Mardi Gras in Rio. Not exactly Princely. JMO.

I know this is not true, but I could not help thinking that the Pope decided to step down after the ordeal and stress of having to put up with Fat Al and Trampolina's visit...

LOL yes, the inappropriate dress and subsequent cover up by the Vatican made him realize the situation was hopeless and why should he suffer a stroke over those two.

I think he had more important things to cover up then that....there is areason why he stays on the grounds of the vatican rather then retiring to Bavaria as he had originally planned. Btw Barsis predecessor retired to the vatican too. Seems they have some sort of place there for retired bishops.
