Archduke Christoph von Habsbourg-Lorraine Wedding

Archduke Christoph von Habsbourg-Lorraine (24) and Adélaïde Drapé-Frisch (22) celebrated their religious wedding ceremony at the cathedral in Nancy today, Saturday 29 December.

They were married by the Catholic Bishop of Nancy, Monsignor Jean-Louis Papin. The civil wedding was performed by André Rossinot, Mayor of Nancy yesterday evening, Friday 28 December at the town hall.

The new ArchDuchess is the daughter of a French diplomat.

Several princely families of Europe have attended the wedding.

A crowd of about 1000 people welcomed the newlyweds on the Place Stanislas in Nancy.

My closest brush with a Habsburg was in Port Antonio in Jamaica. I stayed across the bay from one at the Trident Castle and the owner who interrupted my kite flying at 7am before my friend's wedding asked me if I'd ever heard of a Habsbourg.
