She didn't seem the least interested in connecting with the audience or citizens. barely waved and couldn't wait for it to be over with. probably reminiscing about the her vacation on the yacht and planning the next one.

For me the most interesting part of the video is when she appeared to "bow" to the crowd -- her attempts at sincerity are incredibly insincere and inappropriate.

maybe she was hungry and wanted an early lunch, seeing that there was no parade. You may notice by the video that some people were dressed up. Those were people who were at church, some of them possibly invited to the lunch, others employed at city hall or other affiliated businesses. not many were there specifically for them. They either had kids there or some other vested interests.

this really is a total fiasco - the weather is really bad no family in sight presumably they are safe inside Albert gives the medals... hahaha wonder if they will soon go open the window... The gods have spoken and are getting their revenge on this sham! Karma -- What goes around comes around. Albert spends very little time in Monaco and his wife even less. I don't think the weather had anything to do with the sparse crowd. When people want to see something or someone they will stand in all kinds of weather.

At least Albert seemed to enjoy his moment and responded well to the crowd. She looked disinterested and aloof. The hand over her heart and nod to the crowd really shows how little she understands of her position and protocol. She's not bowing for a curtain call, after all a curtain call assumes the actor has actually done something to deserve it. They weren't calling her name or even Albert's for that matter. It also looks like she may have had some more work done on her nose. It's looking even more "ski-jump" or may be it's just the camera angle. JMO.

When people want to see something or someone they will stand in all kinds of weather. that might be true for other countries, but having lived there I can assure you that rain in MC is the quivalent to a blizzard in other countries. I took my kids to practically empty classrooms because parents couldn't be bothered to take their kids to school on a rainy day...

What they write on the French and Spanish blogs: Charlotte her absence is most discussed! About Charlene they write... 'sickly thin' (all the rest you do not want to know) And this was a surprise for me - Akris tweets as they enter the church: ‘Princess Charlène of Monaco in a navy asymmetrical coat from Akris, Monaco National Day, 19th Nov 2013, Monte-Carlo’ with a picture. About Andrea ‘he seems unwell, he trembled’. He has not appeared on the balcony. Everyone is negative about Tatiana – ‘As always with dirty hair Tatiana and zero glamor’ many dislike here. Negative commend Caroline : again and always with a big hat and chin up to stretch the neck, it becomes ridiculous. Steph and Caro without communion...

the photo on this site where Andrea holds his hands in the face... this is what I meant - casiraghitrio.tumblr.com/page/2it's hard to explain what he just did, but it was as if he saw something or thinking about something and fell into his chair with his hands to the face. strange - has anyone else seen it on TV?

He had his hands to his face after receiving communion which, traditionally, is something that many people do after receiving the Host.

He had his hands to his face after receiving communion which, traditionally, is something that many people do after receiving the Host. I saw today bits of the mass online and that part happened to be shown. I agree that is exactly what happened. After receiving the hostie they often pray or shield their eyes. It's up to the individual how long this takes. Albert usually takes long, Steph tends to be brief, trashy only knelt for show. SHe is getting better at imitation though. SHe seems to follow Albert mostly. It gets pretty obvious that she is imitating when the sisters are there who have both their own individual way of going about it. Trashy doesn't have that as she is not Catholic out of conviction. Btw I noticed that the choir has gotten a lot smaller. The boys are the usual number, because that is one way for parents to get their kids accepted in MC schools. Plus they only pay 10% of the schoolfee in the private school. But the number of women has significantly deminished. There are only 16 left and several are the conductors family and their friends.... the singing wasn't good, albeit they only sang what they have sung plenty of times in previous years...
