I am wondering if he's suffering from dementia and that's the reason he has abdicated. Political and anti-monarchistical (?) reasons are mentioned in the papers here, but when looking at photos I can't get rid of the impression he is not fully with us.

If he decided to step down in January, I just can imagine he realized that after this awkward speech he gave, it´s impossible to carry on.
