Also...if Albert didn't know the sex of the babies...how is it that they came up with the names so fast? To me Albert was lying (no surprise there) and it was involved in the choosing of the names. Though Gabriella still sounds to me like it was Trashy's choice.

Jacques Cousteau was by far the most famous undersea explorer of the 20th century. ;-) and Jacques Chirac a philanderer and corrupt politician who is also a friend of the family....

Though Gabriella still sounds to me like it was Trashy's choice. you simply look up names for both cases. Here they could have doubled the prefered boy and girl names, but apparently she knew, so I guess that helped. Also I think his aides gave him lists of suitable names to chose from. My guess is that the protocol people helped to put things together with possible godparents in mind as well. wasn't Gabriella the name of the Aga Khan golddigging wife? She sounds like one of trashys role models when it comes to surgeries and marrying wealth....

But I really think it was a choice from a prepared list of suitable names and she was only allowed to chose from those.

Question for PACA: how long does it take to recover from a twin's birth by c-section? I did not have children so I have no idea.

do not worry Gaby is already my favorite... just hope she is enough bad girl - to keep her parents awake with shouting; karma

Gabrielle could have been better, but maybe for Trashy it was like saying "Gabriel" so they make it italian like...i don't know.

At first i thought it was a nice name, but now... marie Therese would have sounded more like a traditional princess name. Gabriella is a regular name. It will be shortened anyways. She might name herself ella as it is too difficult to pronounce at first. I hope they don't swear in English around the poor boy... really not a thoughtful choice in names when it comes to children...

Question for PACA: how long does it take to recover from a twin's birth by c-section? I did not have children so I have no idea. depends on how you heal, but MC usually keeps them in for a week at least. Normal birth is usually 3 days unless you insist to be released early. I was in longer, but that was due to the weight. They haven't announced size and weight, so not easy to say. If they are under 2300g they are not released home though with these it might be different. With mine it was different too as the doctor decided that I was coping well with them and they were healthy, only very small and that they couldn't do anything for them accept watch them grow. Since she has an army of people to help her and probably get a couple of nurses to take home to help her, it really just depends on how she is doing and what she wants. I am not envying the first night though. I remember loads of pain, not enough ice and not enough pain killers. and a bitchy nurse. I really have bad memories of the first week in the CHPG.

do not worry Gaby is already my favorite... just hope she is enough bad girl - to keep her parents awake with shouting; karma she'll probably be the quiet one. You often have one quiet one and one screamer. And don't worry, no parents will be woken as they will have nurses in the beginning and nannies after. And trashy will be bored out of her mind with nothing to do as everyone will expect her to stick around her babies all the time. So no more travelling for her for some time.

I think Marie Astrid of Luxembourg or her cousin Astrid of Belgium have a Gabriella. It's actually a pretty name ... I was so fearful of a Princess Lynette or Tiffany

There is already a prince Gabriel, so giving it to the girl seems obvious. The thing with these names is that they could have named them Gabriel and Jacqueline as well. But princess Jacky would have been worse. Though the Kennedys might have liked that. At least they didn't do that twin naming thing people often do with names starting with the same letters or sounding similar etc. then again being boy and girl they are just regular siblings who share a birthday. not much twin thing there. They will probably have a good relationship with each other though according to studies.

Ugh! Imagine a Princess Lynette! I used to think a Lynette was going to be there for sure. I guess i was wrong. 1000 times better to have a Gabriella Therese Marie. I wonder who of the two will be the trashier one?

Charles and Louise were better imo Charles and Camilla... BTW, Jacques was the hubby (and distant relation) of princess Louise Hippolyte who ruled for nearly a year after her father's demise until she married and hubby took over. As a regent mind you, not even as a full sovereign prince. So Jacques Honoré Rainier is a full list of sovereign princes. And he will rule as Jacques II. Jacques, I mean really, such an ancient name. The poor kid has already a beard like Methusalem and he is barely born. Not that I think the girl is luckier. Gabrielle sounds better and dare I say it Gabriella sounds like someone in the sex/porn industry. Marie runs in the family (Charlotte?) and does anybody know where Thérèse comes from? I do like Refia's Louise, but isn't there already a royal one somewhere? For the rest I can only say: Sad but true.
