Kudos to our cherished national morning man for hosting Blinken. Having said that: 1) Arctic: the US should just sign UNCLOS albeit 30+ years later... 2) Haiti: international aid workers are the ones who infected Haitians with cholera; Haitians don't recognize the legitimacy of the current leader. 3) Climate Change: countries channel their aid through World Bank loans and sidestep their pledges to the UN Climate Fund altogether, thereby never really compensating developing countries from the pollution by developed countries. Chers BNI, CDPQ et autres émissaires voilés de ceux à Abou Dhabi qui m'ont déjà une fois fraudée, je ne suis pas du tout intéressée à travailler avec vous. My landline phones kept frying; a phone company tech told me there was a "surcharge" on the line. When I asked, he said I was the only one with that problem in the building. That came with countless hangup calls, as well as on the first day of connection a call on each unlisted number (the second line was personalized with a different ring). Safe to say, my line was compromised. Then the entries...I was one time in my bath when there was an attempt. A colleague suggested I put a chain lock, and the next day at work, I got a call from the owner who obviously as my colleague suspected, they were entering my apartment while I was out. When one member of that family confided they were robbed at their retail business, it came after he had already told me his boutique manager was intimate with the insurance agent. Their "robbery" payout went to pay for the launch of their German brand on Crescent street. When I found out that it was that family who were also the landlords, thanks to one of their staffers, I mocked them for their insurance scam scheme and was chased by thugs on my way to law school in Quebec city days after 9/11. Small world. Good luck to the victims' families. Justice will be very slow. ... *And I'm skipping the part about how they put a retired Spanish prostitute on my father's path at my parents' condo and were probably eavesdropping on my poor mother's frequent phone calls to me. All there is to know, apparently, about the guy 🙄. Quebec is too woke, as is SoCal and he's a Florida-type guy... He's weighed down by his job at Concordia (and Molson). Such appreciation for a place who took him in and provided him with the security to have a family - unlike the civil war in his home country and where academia would not have given him even a foothold to begin with in his career. He should maybe thank instead the gods of Quebec wokeness... I'm reminded by that story about my almost future sister in law who was made dean at an Ontario university. Looking at her department's program, she was teaching that Quebec was tyrannical about its use of French, clearly subconsciously traumatized by her experience under the French mandate in Lebanon, without which she wouldn't be teaching French anywhere (!) but rather than be directing her anger at the colonial component of her life under the French, she flexed it to hit us - Quebec - and fold into the anglo majority's agenda to always malign us while overlooking the fact there would be no Canada had there not been New France which covered half of North America. Arguably, without us and Lafayette, the US would also still be a British colony. Stop being so bloody ignorant. Academia should maybe be more rigorous in this country. The name Marc Lalonde keeps coming up, as an instigator. The summer post-grad that I temp-ed in spite of hiring the headhunter to find me employment in my field, I was rotated at the Bronfmans' Claridge where Lalonde was a regular fixture. Also, in my personal travails in trying to pry my mother from my rotten brother (and place her partly under public curator and physically with me), I received a shock after ordering the transcripts of a Juvenile Court case involving the same brother, who also freely admitted being called to the home of a Rizzuto acolyte Steve Vogl, his childhood friend along with Paolo Grilli. The convictions, two of which were contrary to what the prosecutor Sylvie Lemieux and the detective in charge (who later received a medal), had told me when the judge withheld judgment the day of the trial and I was sent home to Toronto. Who could change two of three convictions and grant an unconditional discharge when I was told he had to donate $10 000 to charity. The same sum that was issued around that time from my mother's cheque book to my rotten brother. Marc Lalonde.
