It's time the United Nations attach punitive damages to violations in international law. Reparations. Even if collection based on a moral legal authority may pose a problem, they should handicap the economies of rogue countries, to give them pause when their rankings show a lien for reparations, which can nevertheless be acquitted by sums of humanitarian aid (after approval).
The devil has moved into the Holy Land. What should be the beacon of Judeo-Christian civilization is a travesty of Christian-based liberal democracy and a hotbed of iniquity. It's a closet nuclear villain and a haven for fraudsters and other thieves. Islam kept it peaceful far longer than today's several decades of political decadence. Its soil is desecrated on a daily basis, as powers sit idly by, spouting platitudes. This is your test. You lose your moral compass and you are lost. Not a day goes by that anyone can be fully proud anymore of what's become of it. Not even Jews who try to reign in their leaders. Don't look at the overtly godless, when the core is rotting from within.
Bravo to Europe and the US for speaking up. Thank you to the UN for its report. Pity social media is the censurer here.
(To editorialists wondering why Canada is silent, you'd have to take a social engineer prism and remap the world, to see where dark power resides, smack where the middle masses are oblivious and no pesky nobility reminds anyone of higher ideals or propriety.)
Netanyahu's political survival is not worth Palestinian lives. He's up on corruption charges, is stoking far-right extremism, all just because he wants to hang onto power. It's time for Netanyahu to go.
“Meir Kahane a laissé derrière lui plusieurs héritiers, détaille Simon Epstein.
Roughly, the opening of an office in Sheikh Jarrah by far-right politician Itamar Ben Givr, ideological heir of the late Meir Kahane both repugnant to most Knesset members albeit the former encouraged by Netanyahu - is a cause of the unrest. Such introspection is a good thing. Bravo to Simon Epstein.
I for one do not see myself as the person to call on the UN, US, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iran, China or Russia among others, to support my Sykes-Picot approved platform for an international governing body but, if necessary, who knows?
There are USD 3.8 billion that put blood on the hands of innocent American taxpayers while they wonder too why their modern nation has the shittiest infrastructure. Why should millions of Americans waste away so the few Israelis can punch down? The right to defend is against outside forces, not against natives. Palestinians belong in Palestine. At home.
If anyone thought that the Gaza attacks would raise another Arab Spring, just look at how democracies are failing Palestinians. Aside from Tuscan port unions (👍🏼) that refuse to ship weapons to Israelis, more should step up because as we see, Israeli leaders left to their own devices prove only their evilness time and again. All their shipments should be confiscated, until they return to the rule of law and pay a debt of reparation to the 52 000 displaced Palestinians among others. Everyone is equal under the law, no exceptionalism and no worse treatment. We live in shameful times. 73 years is enough, Jewish victimhood has turned on its head and gone off the deep end.
This lady and mother of 5 was shot by a settler who then dropped the gun near her to apparently frame her. As if it wasn't enough to kill her, he had to further disparage her. I tried to say on my blog yesterday something that came out warbled, as happens when you're on overload from all this ugliness. Essentially, each time at the crossroads of humanity there was an opportunity to do things right but somehow those in charge didn't follow through, despite commissioning experts. That was a conscious choice and thus the responsibility rests with them. You can't ignore when something was badly done. You can fix it, as was the first duty to do the right thing. We can't aspire to be worse than our predecessors. We should aspire to be better.
Why in this day and age must someone tell these mal élevés that it's simply not done to transgress in people's places of worship, let alone in the Holy Land? What's with the constant willful ignorance of basic decency? Why does everything have to be explained to Israelis like they're the global village idiots?
