Harry is having quite an important role tonight at the closing ceremony. With Kate by his side. He looked nervous coming in. It seemed though as if he got reassurance from Kate. I think what he said before the wedding is true for him: she is like a sister to him. Good to see how well they get along. Now they just have to find a good girl for him to marry.

He is like a lot of young guys, growing up without parents. If the rich and famous would finally realize that expensive boarding schools and nannies simply can not do a job that parents ought to do, you'd see less of this. Especially in the British system you have a huge gap between the public and the private. The kids learn how to keep up the front. But behind the scenes they are on their own and fend for themselves. These kids are not raised by adults, they are raised by other kids and peer pressure. For weeks Harry was forced to keep up the front. ANd he did a great job for someone his age and everyone watching. After the Olympics he was left with a black hole of nothing to do and facing himself. Personally I think that Harry is not happy at the moment and this is his way of running away from it. He needs some talking to and face up to his issues and deal with it. As long as he doesn't, this will continue to happen. What bothers me though is the question about the minders. Obviously they are supposed to allow him to have a private life too. But they should have intervened and broken things off. Or at least checked the phones for pics and deleted them. He had 3 travelling with him, now they added another 3 to get him home... after a talking to the Queen and maybe his dad, he will be shoved back into the military where he is left to disciplin at work and drinking with his chums afterwards. Exactly what he did in Vegas. Not helpful.

I will give them no excuses.
If they want to be royals they have to hold to their rank.
If they want to "have fun" messing around naked at parties XX...ing with whores like the common man, they should give up their title or better even the royal title should be taken away from them by parliamentary vote or decree.
Pippa is the sister of a Princess consort. Not anything good but at least she has no title. This one, a hereditary Prince, is a true disgrace... as if he was the only one. We know others of the same species in Monaco and elsewhere.

I don't think he is anymore a disgrace then Andrew, the Queens favourite son. Remember Koo Stark?? And the other women? His nickname Randy Andy? Or his maternal uncle and his string of wives and lovers?
I think Harry has a lot of potential, but needs guidance, which he is not going to get if they are doing the usual. He should have received help at a much younger age. He was already known to be a wild child before his mother died. Considering the little I know about him, I think that he was a fairly sensitive kid, not able to deal with his emotions. His mom was busy with her own problems and did not provide the stability he needed. I think his turning to the military is a sign that he is yearning for stability, which in a superficial way the military provides. As long as he is kept within a corset of responsibilities, he will function. But as soon as he is on his own, the steam will go off. And the stricter the corset the more steam. He needs to deal with his issues and find his natural balance. At this rate he is headed for a bad ending.
As to the royal issue, royals have done way worse then Harry. There just wasn't the media for it and the public was not really wanting to hear that. I think people shouldn't expect royals to be saints. QEII has been an example, but her kids paid the price. Children growing up like Harry sense the difference between the public and what is really going on. And they react to it. I am certain that Will and Harry both knew that their parents marriage was a farce way before their parents admitted it to themselves. or the public got a whiff. ANd especially Diana had a very selfish way of dealing with it, to the detriment of her children. IMO one major reason of Will marryingn Kate was her family. Without her family or how he sees them, he would not have married her. That is what is giving him stability. Harry does not have that. He has the military and drinking buddies. And you can bet if he wants to party he will always find someone. Harrys antics are symptoms and need to be treated as such. Of course he needs to learn from his mistakes and he should own up to it. But most of all he needs help, not judgement. If he was 20 years older, I wouldn't see as much potential for change. I'd see another Albert. But Harry is still young and he surely has some growing up to do. But with the right support, he'll eventually grow out of it and be an asset to the BRF.
