If your country only has 2600 hotel rooms and you invite 4000 people to your wedding yet you are still trying to sell hotel package to tourists, then publicizing this trashy wedding as the "Capital of Romance" is a big PR FLOP! On Monaco's official tourism website, Visit Monaco, they are still peddling hotel packages - two nights for $1357 (958€).
Don't Miss the Event of the Year at the Méridien Beach Plaza for 958€
Special offer on the occasion of the wedding of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and Miss Charlene Wittstock.
1 and 2 July 2011
- 2 nights in a Classic Double Room with buffet breakfasts included - Free upgrade to a room with sea view subject to availability - Free "Princess Grace" cocktail to welcome you on arrival - A dinner/barbecue on the Friday by the poolside under the stars with a buffet of local specialties and South African wines, live music and a synchronized swimming ballet by a champion duo from France.
958€ for 2 nights in a double room (subject to availability). Option of a return helicopter transfer for 175€ per person Supplement of 89€ per person for a romantic dinner on Saturday 2 July, including drinks.

Hahaha, if this so called wedding was so popular, and everybody would be crazy to be there to see the dumb-as-a-rock bride and her fatie prince, then why they still have rooms empty? At this time of the year, all the hotels of Monaco and of the Riviera should be booked by now. PR FAIL indeed.

There are still rooms available at the prestigious Metropole also. Theses packages must be really expensive - they do not even list the prices. So what happened to their boasting that the hotel rooms were full? also, I remember reading that the Metropole along with the Hotel de Paris was reserved for wedding guests. So I guess their "Capital of Romance" PR campaign is doing so well. From Visit Monaco:
Celebrate like Royalty at Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo this summer 2011 during the Year of Romance 12/05/2011
Love certainly is in the air this summer as the Principality of Monaco prepares to celebrate Prince Albert’s wedding to Charlene Wittstock on 2 July 2011, the other most highly anticipated royal wedding.
In preparation for the momentous and happy occasion, Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo, voted “The Best Hotel in the World” at the 2010 Leading Hotels of the World annual convention, is setting the tone of celebration with the introduction of a tailor-made package for guests to commemorate in similar style.
Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo is continuing to set the mood of love and romance in the lead-up to the wedding following a calendar of ambiances earlier this year, including a collaboration with leading french couture house, Lanvin.
The hotel’s highly talented stylist and florist, “Miss Rose”, will create a beautiful and poetic ‘Garden of Eden’ display in the lobby, featuring a cherry blossom tree as the main centrepiece, as well as spectacular elegant white flower arrangements.
The hotel’s discreet archway entrance will be planted with white and red rose trees, a subtle tribute to the official colours of Monaco.
Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo’s Celebration Package includes:
• Accommodation for two for one night in a Superior Room (a complimentary upgrade to a Junior Suite will be offered subject to availability) • VIP welcome on arrival including a bottle of Champagne • Daily American Breakfast in the Joël Robuchon Monte-Carlo Restaurant • Dinner for two at the Joël Robuchon Monte-Carlo Restaurant (3-course meal excluding beverages) OR One hour treatment each at the Metropole ESPA Monte-Carlo HOTEL METROPOLE Monte-Carlo 4, avenue de la Madone | BP 19 | MC 98007 Monaco Cedex www.metropole.com
Prices on line on "Enchante moi Monaco"

This... I didn't know if to post it here, but well:
And the Duchess Catherine style mania continues! The former-Kate Middleton stepped out in a $340 beige Shola bandage dress from high-street store Reiss when she met with the President and First Lady of the United States yesterday. And when pictures of the royal rendezvous surfaced online internet, crazed fans rushed to the Reiss website, crashing it not once, but twice, the Washington Post reports. According to Reiss' Twitter, "The dress has now sold out online and in the US, with very limited stock left in UK stores." Better luck next time! Selling out fashions has seemingly become a habit of Catherine's, as her engagement dress by Issa, engagement photo dress also by Reiss, and day-after-wedding dress by Zara all sold out in stores across England within hours of her wearing them.
And what happened to Monaco's Princess of Fashion? Has she sold out all her expensive clothes? *cricket sound* I DON'T THINK SO.....so....pr fail!

The new Monaco: Las Vegas on Titanic!
We always wondered why the tabloids write the sugar stuff and some people buy it while the more educated people don't care for Monaco.
Yesterday I talked to someone about politics, lack of classical education and how societies are changing. And I said: Western civilization seems to be on a bad trip when a high shool dropout is announced flag ship of a country and first lady!
He said: Which country? Ahh Monaco. I don't bother. That's show, that's entertainment, we need some fun.
NOBODY TAKES MONACO SERIOUS. WAKE UP ALBERT OR PLEASE SOMEONE MAKE HIM WAKE UP!!! THE WHOLE WEDDING_IMAGE_CAMPAIN IS A DISASTER and underlines the image you wanted to get rid of. CALL OFF!!!

The models in the photo advertisement for the hotel look more of a couple than Albert and Charlene.
Albert seems to be stuck in the 1960-1970 when Monaco was full of glamor and intrigue - emotionally as well. He has not a clue that what PR worked for his parents no longer applies. He is completely out of touch with reality. With the internet, the glossy photo op really no longer works. The British royals totally get it. But then the Queen even has an ipad. She asked her grandchildren to show her how they work and proceeded to get one of her own. Now that's a Monarch that has kept in touch with her people! The palace website is updated all the time. Albert needs to step aside.

LOL he just needs to step somewhere...aside or whatever doesn't matter. As much as the man is circling the globe and seems to be on the move, the more it becomes obvious that he has not changed ever since his mother on her last morning tried to kick him out of bed to do sth. He has not developed in his personality nor has he developed anything in MC. The man has wasted at least the last 30 years of his life.

Caroline, if YOUR PR people are reading this, please overthrow the ineffectual time-bomb brother of yours and get down to business.... and while you are at it, make Char-Barbie go back home... swimming...

30 days before the wedding and the non dynamic duo is still not being mentioned or watched in the states. all kinds of excitement about the WillKat visit....oooopppie! it's during the same time as the streetcorner circus....TO BAD> NOT SAD > PR FAIL
the grandprix was supposed to be a big way to get them PR, our tabs got nothing and the entertainment shows NADA they> highlighted kim kardashian and her engagment (NICE ring, unlike trashy's and romantic proposal >unlike trash's)
IMO all the big media will be following WillKAt in Canada, the streetcorner circus will be lucky to get any attention from any press other than french and german and i suppose italian but it's not going to get any attention in big countries where they want it and trashlene craves becoming an "icon".
i can't believe the french are really that taken with her, take any french woman off the street or out of a market and she'll exude more style and panache than trashlene with all the stylists money can buy JMO
i'm still wondering if it will be broadcast live on the internet where i can see it (shrug)

The GP was really a big big BIG PR FAIL. It was supposed to be a sensation, Charlene was supposed to be a sensation...and got nothing. As usual. In fact, this year's GP was so boring. Charlene and Al are boring. And they put the Casiraghis in the back, and it's still boring. I don't care if they are or are not a bunch of spoiled brats, but its so sure that those brats can do better than the Bitchstock-Witchstock.

Well, I say the PR asses should be kissing the feet of 20th Century Fox. They are going to get more PR out of the latest Selena Gomez' movie than the wedding. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rxm_bVVhbr8Coincidentally, the movie opens the day of the wedding.

Thanks Paca. For some reason, your link is not going directly to the article, only Paris Match frontpage. But, I'm sure the article is about the King of Bhutan - both he and his fiancee are intelligent and beautiful - the polar opposite of the trashy Monaco couple. Everyone knows this, but he delusional Albert and Charlene. The press is only playing alone because they wan the photos for their glossy pages. When Jigme Khesar Namgyel (age 31 and Oxford University educated) first announced his engagement to Jetsun Pema (age 21 also British educated), her stated that since his country is very poor, he will not have an extravagant wedding swill will be very disrespectful to his people. Clearly the trashy repulsive couple of Monaco does not understand such a comment. They would bankrupt their country as long as it means having a flashy bling bling show off party (as Albert calls it) for their friends.

disrespectful to his people, now that is a thought that would never cross porky and trashys mind. They do not know the meaning of respect. Hence their behaviour towards each other and others; And therefore no one respects them. You don't get what you don't give or earn.

ROFL Countess,They are trying to protect their production rights. Jerome Revcon, the wedding production manager, will be selling a video of the wedding of the century. So, you can buy it and watch it then. Just Revon's production expenses are over a million dollars.
