We have here special magazines about the upcoming weddings. The first one about Kate and William, the second one with FA and CW. Both magazines have Kate Middeton photos on the backsite. Huh? Why no CW pic on the magazine dedicated to her?
But arghh, in the inside of the magazine again a photo compare of CW and Grace Kelly.

i get a good chuckle about the palais lack of real p.r. about charlene. it's so telling how little she really has to offer. they can't even generate an article with a tenth of substance to it about her and i'm talking about her achievements beyond swimming. i'd love to be in on these sessions where they're trying to craft things about her. just the same old shizzle with this chick.

The problem with Monaco's PR machine concerning Charlene is that they have no strategy or definitely not an effective one. Monaco is still trying to live off the 1956 strategy when Grace graced Monaco with her presence. The press followed Grace because there was a HUGE public interest in her. These idiots in Monaco have embraced the press to follow and report on Charlene thinking that the public will follow - WRONG. A French reporter makes a statement about the French media interest in William and Kate's wedding that really really explains why the Monaco idiots thought that Charlene was the new Grace - the media told them so. Here's the New York Times article published in today's hard copy, but printed on the web yesterday. this si the statement I am referring to: Maurice Szafran, a writer and chief executive of the French publication Marianne, says the perception of a royal yearning might be more refrain than reality. “It could be that our press is more passionate about the story than the French people are,” he said on French radio last week. “In the coming weeks, we’ll find out.” Maurice was speaking of the British wedding, but this is exactly what happened with Monaco and the so-called New Grace - Charlene. Since February 2006 - the media (mostly French, German, and Italian) had a love affair with Cahrlene - but the public could care less. The media shoved Charlene down everyone's throat as the classy elegant Grace predecessor. Monaco had six years to see that the numbers showed this to be false, but they were too stupid to realize it.

I think the public bought the mags or they would have stopped putting It on the front page. Either that or they get paid for it or blackmailed into it. Take your pick. Wouldn't be surprised at either option. I did notice that Monaco tends to be a slow news item (summer!) and that after the engagement the mags became less interested. Also that most foreign mags couldn't care less. Bunte, Point de Vue and occasionally Paris Match are the only ones that have It regulary on the front page.

So, how does the media gauge the public's interest in their stories? Is it strictly sells, readership, viewership, and/or polls. Many online articles "most read" features can be distorted when fan sites link to them. do they take this in to account? I am trying to understand why and how Albert became so deluded with Charlene's appeal as the" new Grace." Magazines apparently take very detailed notice of the combination front page pic/person and number of sales. I assume the type of headline comes into it as well: when bashing Albert sells more magazines, they'll come up with some more nasty stories about him. Tabloids & men for some reason don't mix. It's my pet peeve. It's totally unfair as practically all princesses are not born ones. Their princes rarely make the cover and if they do, they tend to be an appendix to the princess in question. I haven't figured out why, I assume most readers are women and identify more with the princesses but even then you'd expect that a pic of a hunky prince would do ok? I suppose it's the thing about dresses, make-up, kids etc. Men just pull out the same suit as last time and hop into the car and don't get criticised for wearing the same thing again. Can't write about that. Oh well.... Before the wedding then please, after the wedding it's too late and there will be no way back. I have come to the conclusion about Albert's PR team is they don't understand 21st century media but think they do. Based on what they've amateurishly put out there, it's like they're stuck in a 1950s time warp and think they can control media like it was done during this parents time. Maybe that's how things go in the Monaco bubble but definitely not outside of the principality in this day and age. It's things there have been so restricted it's killed any real widespread global interest that might have developed over the decades. Strange, considering all the time Albie spends away from Monaco he'd get it that times have changed but obviously not. Does anyone know how old Stahl is? Albert and co. are fifty and older and are more or less of an earlier generation than most of the current crown princes. Maybe the whole lot is just too old and set in their ways to adapt to the new and rapidly changing times? What's the bet that the fiancée is by far the youngest one in Albert's entourage and circle of acquaintances? And she is useless, so no wake-up call coming from that direction. She is about five years elder than Albert.

The German mags are full of Kate & Will. And there is something to write about! CW's problem is that media - although they were very friendly with her so far - need input and substance. More than fashion and pics from state visits. I saw some documentaties about Will&Kate. You can like Kate or not - but she has an education, she and her parents are people who WORK. CW is nothing but hot air. Not even hot... If you can't feed the media with good substance - they will go and find substance - dirty substance ... like lack of education, job and class or stories she doesn't want to be told. In Germany there are some mags who switched the tone - from "nice blond new Grace" to "what happened to her face - is she able to stand the pressure!? "will the wedding be cancled?" "new bad surprises almost each day" ect. And they are not married yet !!! After Will & Kates wedding CW will not get more attention but closer looks and comparisons - not with Grace but with Kate . Interesting what documentaries will report on a monolingual, plastic highschool dropout and retired swimmer without job who lived the past five years as official escort girl - and the only way CW was involved in charity was/ is ... that she is the biggest charity-case herself There is just nothing to write about! That's why she can't feed the media on the long term .

It seems that the palace must have just had a meeting about trying to get interest in their made-for-tv wedding. IT was mentioned before by several of these idiots that once the British wedding is over, the public and media will turn to Monaco for another wedding fix. So, just one day after they have already started their PR machine. The public and media are still swooning over videos, photos and news of William and Kate's wedding, but these delusional idiots are so desperate that they feel they should NOW throw their trashy wedding in everyone's face. Here's an article explaining their advertising strategy. I don't know if the quotes from Stahl (in charge of the wedding media plan) and Jerome Revon (the production manager for the wedding) are recent - regardless, they are so very TACKY. I think the media and public will resent their cockiness and this too will backfire on them. The countdown has started for the Monegasque royal wedding 30.04.2011
Just the joy of marriage fallout British eyes were already turned to the micro-state of Monaco, who will celebrate the July 1 and 2 in relative sobriety union of Prince Albert II and his fiancee Charlene Wittstock of South Africa.
Point coach in the streets of the principality of 2 square kilometers. Prince Albert, an environmentalist who intends to live with his time, will board a car "hybrid" to greet the crowd after the religious ceremony Saturday, July 2.
The religious wedding will be celebrated outdoors in the beautiful courtyard of the Palace, decorated with Italian frescoes from the 16th century staircase and a horseshoe inspired from the castle of Fontainebleau. The list of special guests that are therein should be unveiled in late May.
Charlene Wittstock, a former swimming champion was born 33 years ago in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), will become "Princess of Monaco", the day after civil marriage.
The sovereign prince of 53 years had met in 2000 the splendid swimmer back in South Africa, came to compete in Monaco. The eternal bachelor, questioned for years about his marriage plans, announced their engagement last July.
"The Prince and Miss Wittstock want their marriage to be primarily a time of sharing simple and warm with the population of Monaco and with all the guests," says Christiane Stahl, Consultant to the firm of Albert II.
The day of civil marriage, a reception will be on the Palace Square for "Monaco", while "residents" will be treated to a buffet on the port. Because "the relationship between the population of Monaco, the prince and the royal family are very strong," insists Ms. Stahl.
In the evening, after the excitement of the departure of some 40,000 border workers, the principality has fewer than 8,000 Monegasque nationals for a population of some 35,000 people.
A light and sound show orchestrated by musician Jean Michel Jarre is expected to attract many visitors from outside the evening of July 1, especially as additional local trains will be made available. For this popular concert, the Tourism Directorate of Monaco setting attendance "analogous to the Grand Prix Formula 1", more than 100,000 people a day, says his communications director Jean-François Gourdon.
Details on the event filter gradually, without ever officially confirmed. Star chef Alain Ducasse would be the piano to concoct dinner princely and creator Giorgio Armani sign the wedding dress. Preparations were announced in dribs and drabs, are far from being finalized. The wedding dinner and dance were to be held in the Oceanographic Museum, filled with old specimens from the expeditions of Prince Albert I (1848-1922).
But the bride and groom, very attached to this place, just give it up for reasons of "logistics" and dine at the Opera.
In recent weeks, organizers could blow: the media attention was focused on the marriage of Kate and William, says Jerome Revon, director of wedding pictures in Monaco.
If it is still early, it shows "a big interest" of international television, including Russians, Japanese and Chinese. Featured strings and French and German will start next week.

Article in French is here
I should note that this article was written by Agence French Presse (AFP - the French equivalent to the international AP news association). Many times these news association just re-write press releases given to them. Anyway, the serious pres is publishing the AFP article. Le Point has the same article on their website. The Moronaco media whores are wasting no times in trying to capitalize on the hoopla over the British wedding. They clearly truly believe that the public and media will now turn their attention to Albert and Charlene's made-for-tv wedding. Their desperation is showing since they are doing this just ONE day after William and Kate's wedding watched by supposedly billions across the world.

The German mags are full of Kate & Will. And there is something to write about! CW's problem is that media - although they were very friendly with her so far - need input and substance. More than fashion and pics from state visits. In my experience that sadly is all they write about. I don't think I've ever read an intellectual article in either a royal mag or a tabloid. Mildly interesting is as far as they go and that only happens once every five years. The last article concerning Monaco that qualifies was Paris Match in 2006 (the interview with It in SA immediately after Turin) and the one in 2005 with the interview with Nicole Coste. No others come to mind over the past six years. Albert only gives pre-chewed, pre-digested, pre-screened and pre-censored interviews so they are about as interesting as the telephone directory. The articles about It are written over her and nothing but speculation and made-up stories. The ones in which she herself gets to open her surgically enhanced mouth are only good for a spot-the-number-of-lies contest. Unless someone can come up with better? Anyway, that was not what I wanted to post. Translation by Goggle, original here: www.hebdo.ch/a_monaco_un_prince_en_deuxieme_position_100494_.htmlL'Hebdo, Swiss style, 27 April 2011:

i find it rather strange pr hasn't jumped on charlene's trip to benoni -- if she's in fact there -- you know visiting her "homeland" yada yada. i think somethings up. no tipped off paparazzi photos, other photo ops [at least not yet] i think it's beyond her needing a vacation. that's all she does is vacation. i can't say what's up, but it's just weird being the media ho she is. especially now that will and kate's wedding is over, isn't it full press time for monaco's p.r. loonies?

Thanks Grimnir for the article! Now the communications director of the Grimaldi Forum is jumping on the wedding PR bandwagon. Albert now has every official in Monaco promoting his made-for-tv wedding. Do these idiots really think it makes Albert look good that he is planning and approving every detail of this tacky street fair wedding, including the color of the water to be served? As I stated before, Albert really is the Village Idiot of Monaco and he is knee deep in his own delusional crap believing that the world is going to magically shift its attention to him and his media junkie now that William and Kate's wedding is over. Good lawd, how could Prince Rainier trained such a sucker?

Similar to the article that Grimnir just posted, here's a travel article about the Albert and Charlene road show in Australia performed by Monaco's tourism office. Look at some of the delusional crap that comes from these people's mouth. Clearly, they cannot believe this. Lawd, please let these people just doing this because they need a job because Monaco is really doomed if these morons really believe all this crap that they spit from their mouths about the great appeal of Albert and Conlene's wedding. the pr machine doesn't live in the real world. i credit the team for will & kate's wedding and accompanying events -- they didn't emphasize the money aspect. conlene and the blob's circus seems to emphasize exclusivity etc ... most of us will never live like kate and will or conlene and the blob but at least in today's day and age and terrible economies around the world the brit royals had enough sense to appear modest.

Including the Middletons contributing about a Million of their own hard earned dollars. The palace has professionals running the show, and the Queen is not stupid. Thus we all witnessed a lovely, tasteful event. Albert now has all his incompetent flunkies and two new hires --- wedding planners and the 7 million dollar PR flunkie he hired a while back. All the kings horses and all the kings men can not put this wedding together again. Now all they need to go wrong is the weather. It could be either extreme heat or a monsoon. I wonder if that has ever happened in Monaco in recent years.
