makes you wonder how bad SBM is going. I know from a friend that these past years they had severe problems renting the rooms. In the paper they always downplayed the problem saying that people changed their behaviour and came last minute. I heard that they offered dumping prices to regular clients. And that over the past 3 years. On the other hand are the regular costs plus the ongoing renovations and construction. And they invested heaps of money outside of Monaco of which we have no info about how these investments are doing.

I wasn't aware that there were urban beehives in Monaco. All I ever see is huge lots of dead bees.....and what will they eat if the fish don't bite? Funny that now we mentioned him Ducasse gives a secondinterview saying he is working with Robuchon. So why would Robuchon only be doing a poxy brunch? And of course he is drumming his own publicity too for his new investments.Wonder how badly he needs those to be a hit.

Pics of ´The Oyster Box´ in DurbanPics of the hotel, the presidential suite C and PA will stay in and the bathroom of the suite with a view to the Indian Ocean. According to several German editorials it seems that they'll also spend the honeymoon there... ....probably because C has to rub it in everyone's face in Durban that she's got the tiara.

Because SBM is technically a privately held company, no one will know a thing until, like Enron or AIG, the whole thing collapses along with the entire economy - that's the scary part. Considering the people Albert has allowed onto the board, all self-serving, my guess is they are gutting the company's profits for themselves, making a quick fortune and don't care if it tanks because they have taken all they can get from it. I can't believe Caroline can be so stupid as to allow this to happen, but it appears she either doesn't know or doesn't care either. JMO

BZ: Beyond MonacoHoneymoon of Charlene & Albert in South Africa Beyond Monaco
08. June 2011 After their marriage (July 1st and 2nd) Prince Albert II (53) and Charlene Wittstock (33) will spend their honeymoon in a luxurious love nest with beautiful views of the Indian Ocean, the South African home of the bride. Monaco's dream couple will stay in the Presidential Suite (from 5000 € per night) of the legendary Oyster Box Hotel in Durban's exclusive suburb of Umhlanga Rocks. The love-suite of the Prince and the Princess is 250 square meters and is spread over two floors. Albert and Charlene have a private elevator, heavy crystal chandeliers are hanging from the ceiling, the double bed is decorated with gold, from the free-standing bathtub one has a breathtaking view over the ocean. The doormen of the luxury hotel wear sun helmets or turbans - just like in colonial times. For the new Princess the Indian-flavored city of Durban beyond Monaco is a home game. The ex-professional swimmer moved to Durban at the age of 17 because the training conditions were better. In the nearby city of Richards Bay she gave swimming lessons to needy children. Charlene still has many friends in Durban. For July 7th the newly married couple has invited around 200 guests to a lavish party in the suburb of Umhlanga Rocks, South Africa's playground of the rich and the beautiful. After the party Prince Albert II and his wife can then return to the hotel terrace and watch the dolphins doing their leaps in the water.

This whole honeymoon in Durban is really dense. With the excuse of going to the IOC meeting.
Off for a work junket honeymoon - this is a joke. What a boring unromantic event to say the least. And that place is nice but nothing idyllic, as you said just for some grandstanding....

And that place is nice but nothing idyllic, as you said just for some grandstanding.... I'm sure the hotel is giving them the room for free and using their stay there to advertize the hotel and hope other paying customers will want to stay in that suite too. Let's not kid ourselves, it's about the PR promotion for everyone. They get the room for free and another press fix and the hotel gets to use them for advertizing. AdminNote: Fixed quotes

LOL hibou that I doubt. Those are business people. They will send their bill. They might not charge everything but I think these people are not daft and surely know that neither is a big draw for others. They take what they can know. If there is a positive impact of them staying there, then they might get better deals. But you can count on every hotel charging Albert when he stays there. He wouldn't be staying there if they wouldn't already have a good rep, so they don't need him. He needs them to actually attract his guests to come to his party, not the other way around. To them it is business like any other. Just as it should be. If they started handing out freebies for every Joe an Dick, they would be out of business in no time.

May be paca, but then SA seems to be making a big deal about the wedding because of CW. I would not put it past Albert to try and get a free deal. All the press on the hotel including the bathtub that looks at the Indian Ocean strikes me as advertizing. Of course that could be Albert's ad not theirs.

It would be very interesting for some journo there to figure out if he is paying for his room or the IOC - he is a member attending an official meeting with a spouse (gag me). They would probably do the accommodations. No?

I suspect that most people in SA have never even heard of her. I might be wrong and maybe our SA poster will correct me, but seeing how little interest this wedding is generating in MC itself, I doubt that it will be more so in SA. It actually had to be MC Matin to write it that trashy will not only be the flagship of MC but at the same time that of SA. It's almost as if they are trying to get people in SA motivated from here to root for trashy because she is from SA. I am sure people in SA would not need to be told to root for her if she was actually known and popular in SA. Too bad trashy and her tribe did not think of that before they set out to catch a prince. she wouldn't have to buy so many people to do interviews with her.

Forget whether South africans care about Chalrene - they do not even know who she is. I posted articles where some reporters were trying to get the media to show interest in Charlene. Even the Narcissist herself knows that South African don't give a damn about her - her Midmar trip was her attempt to drum up publicity about herself and it was a big flop. Here's what Conlene just volunteered in her February 2011 interview with South African's YOU magazine (where she volunteered the fact that her hubby to be has cold sores like her - they both could have herpes who knows). Charlene: “I’ve been here a week and in all this time only one guy on the beach recognised me. And he said, ‘Look, there’s Charlene the swimmer’,” the South African blonde who’ll marry Prince Albert II in the first weekend in July says.

here are a few bits that they are offering for tourists during the wedding. Please note the most absurd I have read yet: they want to start sth similar to the Grace walk for the roadshow/ They also think about doing an exhibit at oceanographic museum for 6 months... hello?did I miss sth ? has trashy turned into a fish or why do they think anyone interested in fish and the ocean would see a connection or want to look at anything to do with this business deal they call marriage? Somebody please put those F1 fences back up but around Monaco this time so people can't get out. they are officially turning themselves into a loony-bin www.tourmag.com/Monaco-sous-l-effet-touristique-du-mariage-princier_a44452.html

She is no one there (or anywhere), why should she be? Other than being thought of as an obnoxious ignorant wanna-be that couldn't wait to escape SA. Just because Charlene is ignorant does not make everyone else in SA ignorant. She reveals in her past interviews that she couldn't be bothered to visit SA in the past five years when she had all the time in the world and the financial means to do it? She has already pissed off some journalist in SA, it's going to get worse for her-remember the 1st time she showed up and was credited with Stephanie's "Monaco" Annual Aids event, some SA reporter had a few words to say about it. These people really live in their own bubble, but what can you expect from someone who is only interested in listening to their own hype.

[/quote] She was a nobody before she started the princess campaign so this is no surprise.....delusions of grandeur.... Question: How many folks that are on here will actually be there during the wedding that can fill us in on the action as it happens?
