He says that his company will offer; so that is a kind of wording that let's you suppose that they are paying for it too, especially as it not a solicited offer according to the story. I still think that this is a PR cover to spin doctor the costs of the wedding. On the one hand they want to boast on the other the voices about the costs are getting louder and as you can see from Paris match, the snite remarks are coming in as well (wonder why they have not printed an interview yet, they printed the first with her, but who knows they might have one with Nicole in the back. Funny that no one has mentioned the role of the kids in the wedding yet. trashy has not answered a single question about her step kids yet). So they are trying to do both: boast and claim it is all being paid for by someone else. But then they are opening another gate because Monegasques will feel it as an insult that their prince goes to have his wedding sponsored by all sorts of people. I don't think that the criticism would have been as strong, if they had just down scaled and found a way of making it special and memorable in other ways. But then it would need a loving couple who actually has a sense and feeling for it's people and the times we are living in. this one is living in their own bubble completely detached from everyone else and focused on the press and appearances. there is a difference between etre et avoir, porky. If he's paying for the carpet, he'd do better cutting it down to room sizes and then selling it off. At least he could try and re-coup some of the money.

Albert and Charlene can rejoice that they won't have an empty stadium - the 15,000 Eagles concerts tickets have all been picked up. Wouldn't it be something if all those who picked up the tickets don't show. Perhaps some picked up the tickets because they were keeping track of who did or perhaps some just wanted a souvenir of the tickets with the couple's monogram on it, or perhaps 15,000 people really wanted to see the Eagles and Jason Hartman and they stadium will be full. From Monaco Telecom:
Eagles concert: sold out! June 15, 2011 By B. Ulrich
For those who wanted to hear "Hotel California" live, it's too late! It was necessary to be quick to take advantage of the invitation made by the future royal couple to attend the Eagles concert on June 30. On Wednesday afternoon, the concert was almost complete, the latest places were reserved only for Monaco. The inhabitants of the Principality and its surroundings were somehow already answered this for the wedding looming!

yes or they might just give them to someone else. They won't check on people with tickets. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that people will try to sell them to tourists. I'm sure that there are quite a number of people who will make some money with this. there are always idiots who would pay for sth that is free....

Reminder, Monaco's moronic Director of Tourism Michel Bouquier went on an "Albert and Charlene capital of Romance" roadshow to see this wedding and predicted that 100,000 tourists will flock to the Capital of Romance Monaco to see Albert and Charlene get married. Well, he has prepared a program of 200 events for all those tourists to do during their two days in Monaco. There even is a slogan for this promotion: " 2-day festival, 200 events." Here's the Monaco Telecom article describing it.
Wedding: Stops across the Principality! June 16, 2011 By B. Ulrich
The Directorate of Tourism and Congress goes in line with the festive boiling starts. Shock with a slogan: "2-day festival, 200 events. How? By uniting under one banner all the shops and tourist activities in the Principality. The result is up to the event ... Pressure mounts nicely in the Principality. While marriage approach is all that fits in Monaco dance. With the wand, the Department of Tourism and Congress with the slogan "2 feast days, 200 events" hopes to make the Principality a place devoted entirely to preparing festivities. For 200 events, we must understand 200 animations developed by retailers and tourism players from the Principality, with the given theme of romance. The hotels were the first to offer packages "special marriage. In the same vein, festive menus are ignored. Finest dishes to simple "Pizza Princely. Later in the evening you can enjoy such a "Truly Passion", the latest cocktails of the Sea Lounge. Brasserie de Monaco on she could not miss the event without developing a special beer pinkish mixture of red and white of course! Musical entertainment also punctuate the route for visitors. If the Eagles and Jean-Michel will be the headliners uncontested, other groups will also be heard live around the Principality during weekends. Dancefloors of course, will not be outdone! But to take a little height, a little maiden flight by helicopter will be offered at an attractive rate. The same goes for some water activities. Admission is free in most museums and it will be impossible to remain stranded because buses will be free. In short the Principality bends over backwards to accommodate the many visitors expected for the event of the year. The good news is that for the premises, the celebration will be complete, the opportunity to discover Monaco as no one has ever seen!Festive and enjoyable to perfection!

In addition to the 50,000 hand flags that Monaco had specially made to hand out to all the tourists that will be in Monaco on July 1st and 2nd, they also had special flags made to place throughout the Principality. Flags announcing the Royal Wedding in Monaco fly on a flag pole in Monte Carlo June 15, 2011. Prince Albert II of Monaco and his fiancee Charlene Wittstock will wed on July 1 and 2.

Yes I have read that some Monegasques are unhappy because there are no tickets available for the Monegasques and residents. They were not warned in advance. They criticize the fact that "foreigners" were all "robbed". There are some little tickets for sale (100 euros) on two websites known for online retail and other sold in "black" at Nice. They say the police know. Lack of communication and organization again and again ...

LOt's of hot air. It's not like anything is done to entertain people. They just give a different name to sth they always sell. Just more expensive or tasteless. Just like the couple. ok the bus is free and the majority of the museums are free, but in summer people aren't pressing for museums anyways and Monaco doesn't really have any exciting ones. The Oceanographique will of course be the one that is not free as it is the only one that attracts paying tourists. They are trying to sell this as if they have had anything to do with it. SBM has done it anyways as they are part of the machine. The 50000 flags is funny. How many arms does one person have according to the tourist office? I'll be at the beach, so unless they install underwater screens...

I think this one could go into several threads: PR fails and costs of the wedding as now the police is busy (costing money) to find out who is selling the eagles tickets. And it is even said in the article that it is not a crime to do so. So why does the police want to find out? Obviously to find out who is not supporting this fake marriage and to punish them in a non legal way, if they can. Personally I think that should have been in their calculations from the beginning and they should simply take the crowd they are getting as that is all they want anyways. Would they have preferred to come to an empty stadium? If you are giving sth you can't expect people to like it. People sell unwanted xmas presents and find nothing wrong with it. Me, I left it to those who want to go or need the money so bad that they don't care who is giving it. But complaining that people sell unwanted presents is not a nice trait either. A present says sth about the person who is giving as much as it does about the receiver. If you always gift what isn't wanted then obviously you do not know or do not care about the receiver. They should look at the bright side and say, hey at least it wasn't entirely wasted and they got sth. NOt what we intended and thought they would enjoy, but now they can get themselves sth they want or need and whoever was willing to buy the ticket, obviously likes the eagles enough to pay and will most likely enjoy the concert. So there is now harm done, on the contrary, an error in judgement has been corrected. www.monacomatin.mc/article/monaco/le-concert-des-eagles-a-vendre

Obviously to find out who is not supporting this fake marriage and to punish them in a non legal way, if they can. BINGO! That's the only reason that they are making a stink about this. Albert, Charlene and the palace are pissed off that the tickets were not distributed to 15,000 adoring fans instead of the reality - people who wanted to make a little money and people who may just wanted to keep the tickets as a souvenir. I am glad they are making a stink about this and trying to deter people from selling the tickets because that means that they may have less people in the stadium. Albert needs to see full view what the people of Monaco really think of this wedding and his trashy bride. Monaco is really being run by morons!

Funny thing about it though is that they are blaming others for their fault. It's like someone gifting you sth utterly useless and then they say it is your fault for not having any use for it, when instead they should have thought about you, and what you want or need. they have the wole idea of gifting wrong. A gift is not about you who is giving it, but about who is receiving it. And obviously the receiving end wanted/needed sth else and is now making the best of it. Good for them. Personally I would not do it and since tickets were limited, I would let them to those who want them. But I don't blame those who sell them either.

With all the wedding planners they have spent money on, they should have hired a professional concert organizer who understands that if you give tickets away, people are going to scalp them probably for big bucks. It truly shows how stupid these people are not to have figured that one out in advance. Bruce Springsteen is one who makes sure that tickets don't get scalped at his concerts. He even issued statements about not ripping people off. Bon Jovi does the same thing, but Springsteen really lets his fans know not to buy the scalped tickets even adding a concert to that it doesn't happen.

Hibou, you know this already, but I will repeat it - Albert only hires morons. The only qualification he requires is to suck up to him and his equally incompetent trashy parasite soon to be wife.
