Articles even today are still appearing with questions being asked regarding this marriage. I can't believe however that british historian and royal biographer said at the time that, “When they got her into that Catholic Church and got her married, they really trapped her so far as the Catholic Church is concerned,” British historian Robert Lacey told ABC News. “It would be very difficult now for her to get a divorce.” Read more at Jacksonville.com: jacksonville.com/news/metro/2012-04-07/story/fact-check-denials-all-around-about-reports-runaway-bride#ixzz1rPepjx6x Surely they can divorce? If not, I feel so sorry for monaco. Maybe others can enlighten us on this ? of course they can divorce. Alberts sisters are divorced, Albert I was divorced, they have had plenty of out of wedlock kids, so this is not a problem. It would be difficult for fatal to remarry, but since he took for ever to do it the first time, I doubt that he would ever marry again. He would not find a decent wife and would most like be dead by the time he does. I don't think he would have any legitimate offspring, unless he will have some with trashy.

Albert won't want an annulment because it's the perfect excuse for why he can't re-marry which of course leaves him free to do as he pleases, as always. I don't think Charlene wants a divorce. I think she is quite happy to go her own way with all the money and perks included. Neither gives a damn what the other does. Albert has shown that he is happy to drop millions just to do what he pleases. It was an end to a means for both of them. JMO trashy does care about other women though. They are a threat to her. Any average woman is prettier then her and there is still a chance of Albert falling in love. It is not likely, but the possibility is there. So Albert doesn't care about what she does, but she cares about whether he has other women. If Albert would be seen too often in company with a particular one while he is on his own, she'd be going bonkers. Don't underestimate what this woman and her troops are capable off, when they see their gravy train disappear into the horizon without them on board...

Louis II married when he was 76 (with an 45 year old woman) so who knows what Albert will do? Albert I had some shady business deal with the vatican so his marriage was annulled, but his only son (Louis II) remained legitimate so he still take the throne. Besides, Albert can always divorce and remarry, but maybe not for the church. On the other hand, that didn't stop Caroline at the time and churchwise, the everything was all nicely tied up and laundered with retroactive aspect several years after she had remarried and had had kids. Anything can happen, nothing is new in the Grimaldi family history. ;D I do wonder if the fact that Albert did not marry in church, will end up being some interesting or useful backdoor at some point. I found it so odd that he did not get married in the cathedral. The cathedral celebrated its 100th anniversary, what better way to celebrate than a princely wedding? His parents got married there in the wedding of the century and the copycats don't? Plus it would have been kinder on the wedding guests, spending hours in the full July sun can't have been very nice. I'm surprised they didn't drop off their chairs by the truckload.

I thought this too, about why Albert didn't get married in a church, and I think it pissed off Charlene too. Her doppelganger was going on about how Charlene was getting discounted and not getting the full treatment by not getting married in the church. This really bugged her, and I think that's why she tried for the drama of the crocodile tears at the church during the wedding ceremony, as if the religious aspect of the ceremony touched her to tears ;D. Maybe they were tears of anger that it was as far as she was going to get in having a royal church wedding. Albert had a Catholic ceremony, married by a catholic priest, but I think Albert knew it probably wouldn't be a wedding that was going to last to long, so I think he may have tried to find a loophole, not that he ever uses any foresight ever?

I don't think it will be that hard for PA to get a Catholic Church annulment (with or without children) given who, what and how he married. There are at least a dozen pretty good reasons for The Church to agree this marriage was not valid. I know at least 6 people (including one of my daughters) who got Catholic annulments with less reason than PA obviously seems to have.

I can't imagine what Rainier "donated" to get Caroline's just to be sure there were legitimate heirs. Albert has his excuse already - "the runaway bride" works nicely. She married under duress.

Fat Al could get an annulment faster than ... well, faster than Trampolina could spell the word Good one! ps: A psychologist stated in an interview with a German tabloid (I posted it here but can't remember which one it was - it was in autumn/ early winter 2011) that Charlene seems addicted to plastic surgery/ botox which is a hint on a deeper mental problem. Addiction to botox/ plastic surgery = no (healthy) baby. First duty of a Princess = healthy legal heir. No healthy legal heir = no Princess. No healthy legal heir due to mental problems of Princess (before and during marriage) = anullment. I was never good at calculating but this seems logic - someone correct me .

Well, if she becomes insane (more than she already is) and there's no legal heir soon, maybe Albert will push for an anullment? With the "i tried" excuse? Although, if he does that in that scenario, his popularity will sink deeper than now. He will be the bad guy, definately

^Yes and I don´t know how he would recover from it. Is he the worst Prince Monaco had or does he shares it with Louis II?

^Yes and I don´t know how he would recover from it. Is he the worst Prince Monaco had or does he shares it with Louis II? Actually, I think Albert and Monaco's popularity would increase immediately if he just corrected the problem and got this woman and her grifter family far out of town. Albert attached Charlene to him as soon as he took over and started flaunting her as the new flagship of Monaco. Albert never gave himself a chance to judge his own popularity by himself as a man. Charlene's never been popular for so many good reasons that she herself has given everyone. So Albert promoting someone like her, and then financially supporting her, sure didn't make her any more popular...it only confirmed for everyone everything they knew about her, and then actually marrying her only made it that much worse . That said, there are people that can change their popularity and image, if and when they start acting with some integrity, instead of taking their cue's from ignorant juvenile gold-diggers or people who think like them. Albert's taste in women really needs to change. I honestly think Albert needs to seek some professional help as to why he is is attracted to self serving psychopathic women that are dangerous to everyone, especially a man in his position. He also needs to stop with all the desperate promotion--the fact that no one is interested enough to pay any attention to them is a blessing for them. Plus you don't hire another self serving person that is telling the world they have been hired to fix an image problem in a royal family . Besides the image problem is a gold-digger that doesn't have any integrity and never ever will, and what's worse is that Albert has let this ridiculous self aggrandizing child minded woman rub off on him, and effect so many of his decisions. The idea that Monaco can fix this with just another superficial and shallow minded PR campaign is ludicrous, after all, wasn't it this very stupid PR campaign that cost him so much in the first place ....in every way! Albert still can overcome this though, but not until he starts acting genuinely and sincerely and starst acting like a monarch with some substance. To change anything he must first actually gets rid of the real problem itself, instead of trying to pile on more garbage in an effort to cover it up. For years and years, I said the palace would forever be spending their time and money apologizing for Charlene for as long as she is there...and probably for some time after, so why delay it any longer--they are fooling no one! I cannot understand why they thought Charlene's image would change any by marrying her, when it was more than obvious that she never was going to! How Albert thought officially making this woman his wife or the faux princess of Monaco was going to help anything is just so bazaar, it only made everything that much more of a joke. What's worse is that I don't even think Albert "likes" Charlene much? It's so bazaar! Why would you dump your fortune and all of your own and your families honor for a person like this? It's absolutely insane to me.

I watched Al & Char's wedding on YouTube this morning and I was struck by a few things: 1. There was no warmth between them during the ceremony 2. She seemed "out of it" 3. When they left the service he said "lets give them a kiss" and she ignored him, he said it again and she disdainfully complied. 4. Her gown was classy and beautiful and she looked regal BUT MISERABLE. 5. Albert looked idiotic in that white naval uniform. Idiotic. Then when they left the service someone handed him a naval cap. Absurd. Couldn't he wear formal attire or something?

Sadly I feel it's too late for him to rehabilitate his image - with or without that cow by his side. And, I don't think he has much substance in his character to begin with which is why he was so easily manipulated into choosing this dimwit. That someone strongly influenced him to marry her is quite apparent - someone, I don't know who - knew it was in his or her best interest to control and ultimately destroy Albert - by keeping him away from any woman who might see through the manipulators and warn PA to get rid of the bad people around him. I doubt it was Caroline because this has done much too much damage to Monaco for her tastes. She wouldn't have allowed it to go this far. Whoever it is - one or more people - I hope they are getting their jollies off destroying Monaco - because that's what they've done.

Caro has said that trashy would not be princess and I believe that she didn't think it was a good idea from the start. I also believe that is why she tagged her along a few times early on, to see if she could be educated. I think her remark came after that. I really don't think that she actively tried to prevent this from happening, as she is too smart to openly interfere and after all Albert is the head of the family and she has to respect that. She probably gave her opinion on the matter, but I doubt that she openly opposed. She might have criticised certain actions and put her foot down on a few things, but not to a degree that there would be a point of no return. She knows they have to put on a show in public and the less she makes her brothers marriage her business, the easier it is. Besides she has failed 2 marriages herself and who knows what her 2nd marriage was really like and if it would have lasted.
Those pulling the strings are the likes of Biancheri who like to benefit and do their dirty business behind the scenes. I would not be surprised if Biancheri will end up on the board of that MC brand thing. He is very much into selling out MC and his wife has secured the most lucrative business to get money into their private coffers with the Grimaldi forum, which btw is not doing so good due to th lack of congresses, but helas they have the biggest budget for cultural affairs, although they provide the least input. And no one ever asks where that money really goes. Because if the orchestra wants to play there, they have to pay the forum out of their budget. Same goes for all concerts given there. They all have to pay for the venue. The only cultural event they finance out of their pockets is the annual exhibit. And I don't even remember what last years was. It certainly wasn't a draw and it didn't cost much either. I don't think it is Biancheri alone, but I would look in his quarters first. He has been dubbed the most powerful person in MC and his corruption is on record.

they send their mobsters there to launder money. I was once with a big player in the private part of the casino and he told me how you know who these people are. They tend to hire a table for themselves and have an expensive hooker sitting next to them the entire time. That way it is supposed to look like a rich guy showing off for the bimbo. On occasion the hooker is allowed to play too. But mostly it is the croupier and the mobster. When the mobster is done, it's time for the hooker to do her duty. And trust me there is no telling the difference between the ordinary golddigger and the hookers. But you can notice by the behaviour of the men, who is considered decent. I noticed though that the men tend to treat the hookers with slightly more respect then the golddiggers.

Last year, wasn't that the wedding/royal expo? Sadly I feel it's too late for him to rehabilitate his image - with or without that cow by his side. I doubt it. People tend to have short memories (with a few exceptions). Things that made headlines a few years ago are now all but forgotten. Charles' divorce, Camilla - all forgotten or at least not a big item anymore. I can name a handfull of other examples. The excitement, outrage and/or indignation dies down, gets replaced by new news and the old stuff then becomes just history. On we go and forward 'cause we can't find reverse... Not that I don't think it's a good idea to boot out barbie! The sooner the better. If he ever does, I'll personally come and visit Monaco to celebrate!I still have to reconcile this impression with Eringer's about Albert being smitten with her. It has bugged me ever since I read it. The two opinions effectively mutually exclusive and it doesn't sit very well with me. Employee or smitten? Sometimes I wonder if we (I) are not so biased that we overlook something. Just swiping Eringer on the heap of sugar-overdosing sugars somehow... nah, maybe not.
