New Friday, new state paper, new opportunities. The attractivity counsel now has names & faces, to be exact. Just to be complete. 147 877 coins of 2 euros have been minted to commemorate the disaster of Monaco's history. 7000 pieces only were made of the normal 2 euros coin. Normally they make a lot more. Let's guess what is going to be the collectors item? And the mayor has invited people to decorate their houses, windows, balconies etc. on the occassion of the disasterous wedding. He does that each year for national day too, so it's pretty standard. Not a PR-conspiracy. Or at least not more than usual. But, with the right mindset the formulation is funny: So....can you put half a flag out to only show your support for Albert? Or would that be a whole flag at half-mast?

For the occasion of the princely wedding, the Monegasques and the inhabitants of Monaco will wholeheartedly demonstrate their attachment to HSH prince Albert II and to miss CW.
In this spirit, the mayor invites them to decorate facades, windows and balconies of their flat or appartment.
Large flats generally have a collective decoration of flags. It would be desirable however, that each realizes his own decoration too so as to give more splendour and more dimension to this princely wedding.
Shopkeepers are requested to join in the fun and decorate their shop-windows. I knew this type of gestapo behavior was going to be coming. Actually, I find the mayor's statement very coercive! I would be insulted. So, what does it means or what happens for those who do not decorate their balcony? Does this mean that you do not support the Prince and their non-compliance will be noted? I know that people decorate their balcony for National day, but are they sent this type of request or do they just do it out of country pride.

Myadia they ask every year for NH to decorate windows balconies etc. Nothing unusual. Pity that you have to ask people. I don't remember any other country having to ask. If you want to you do it and if you don't you don't no big deal. Doesn't make you a lesser citizen. There is a special section in Carrefour each year for NH with flags and stuff. A shop downstairs tried to benefit one year as well, by selling MC flags. They even had it in the paper, more as an oddity. He didn't do it again as he didn't sell any

I don't even know what to say about this; I am literally speechless! I wonder do these 1000 people have to acts as crowd-fillers for his made-for-tv wedding for their clemency (especially those convicted of theft and embezzlement). Here's the link to the Monaco Matin article
PV and Misdemeanors: amnesty until July 1 Wednesday, June 22, 2011 Until July 1, those who forget to pay the parking meter will not be punished ... Philippe Narmino, Director of Judicial Services, said today Wednesday, June 22, the Prince Albert II signed an order granting amnesty to certain offenses committed before July 1, 2011. This concerns all fines and tickets, the sentences of conditional sentence when the stay does not exceed twelve months, and prison sentences not exceeding three months. Theft, fraud, embezzlement, clandestine work can thus be deleted. But the clemency of the sovereign as his reason.
"Many areas are excluded from the amnesty" , said Philippe Narmino. Thus, crimes related to drug trafficking and money laundering acts are excluded. Albert II also dismisses the misdemeanor drunken road and offenses against and sexual violence, children and vulnerable people (elderly and disabled physically or mentally).
A total of 1000 persons who have committed a crime could benefit from amnesty.

that's common practice to give an amnesty for certain events. US does that too. Remember the husband of Denise rich? In France they have it for National holiday. People used to park for months where ever they wanted , because they knew that the tickets would be pardoned on NH. They have changed that not too long ago.

Could this be answer to some prayers- Do you guys know anything? Don't know anything about this rumor - but somehow it makes me think of the closing scene in the film SOME LIKE IT HOT - where the Jack Lemon character tells the Joe E. Brown character (Osgood) that he's not really a woman - he's a man - and the Joe E. Brown character smiles and says "Well, nobody's perfect!" I think that's how Charlene feels about anything involving Albert so long as she gets the ring!

LOL didn't he say the more the merrier? he could just turn to her and say: well, I got a head start.... I doubt she would leave him for that. She completely ignores those that already exist. If it is true though and it is a Monegasque woman, the Monegasque might feel different about this then they did the last times. It is one thing to have a child with a foreigner, another one if it is Monegasque. It could be that the Monegasque would feel that that child would have more legitimacy to the throne then a child born in wedlock, but from a convenience marriage. After all, that child would be in one way or the other related to the majority of them (and I mean those born Monegasque).

Albert is half American. A child with a Monegasque women would be more Monegasques then any other Grimaldi. I think there would be quite a problem if cw becomes princess, has a child and is an unpopular princess. Public opinion could easily swing in favour of the Monegasque child...

I think ksomeone already posted this info on the board (in another thread) already and I will say the same thing again - Charlene ain't going NOWHERE - another child or not. Albert can screw another woman while Charlene watch and she still won't go any where.

well, seeing that she was at St Jean show that she is still very much in the palace. But if you look at them, look at Caroline, then you do get the impression that things are not looking to the best in paradise. The stress is definitely getting to them. With the jumping there are plenty of photographers in town, all with accreditation and they know that they can make extra by getting non jumping pics. They did that during the little games as well. Journalists in town for the jumping, will get additional info keeping their eyes and ears open pre wedding wise. Gets extra money. They still have a week to go to the concert, so if they are starting to show cracks already....
